Hello everyone.
Frugal for me today, was simply not going out and not spending any money LOL
we had spaghetti & home made meatballs for dinner, along with a salad and bread.
My second son's dog had 6 puppies last night, her first litter. They are part shut-zuh (sp) and bichon terrier. There are 4 little girls and 2 boys. My dd already has one spoken for, it will be the first dog for her family of 2 young girls.
I am attaching a couple of pictures of a hail storm we had the other day. It was completely bright, clear and hot, and then it clouded over, thundered and started to hail. It really damaged the petunias in the garden, but everything else seemed to come through okay. Sorry, our patio was a mess that day!!

I was busy running today delivering orders and brochures and collecting on late payments.

Was able to have some windows open with the A/C off today and collected 8 gallons of rain water tonight. I hope we get more rain this evening.

As usual you girls are all doing so well. Nothing much happening here again. I went to dds to vist her and my awesome grandbabies. It is a abit of a distance but I don't mind wasting gas for that. Made supper from home. LOL. We ended up having English muffin pizza. I have a stockpile in the freezer and this ole gal just wanted to talk tonight sooooo......Anyway. I need to go to Shop Rite tomorrow to pick up their big deals. Also need to go to post office to mail a package. We really dont have any 4th plans I know dh will be bbqing but other than that. I will avoid most of the area around here. Tourists and traffic! Here in the heart of the Pocono's it pays to know the back roads.

I too meant to wish Rachael Happy Birthday.

Lauri

You are so lucky to live in the Pocono's, it is so beautiful there... we passed through and stayed all night on our way back from Cape Cod, MA. several years ago.

Crochet2

I hope that you will get the help you need tommorow to get throught the day quickly.

After our earlier chaos with Windi the evening has been peaceful. Windi is sleeping alot this evening but that's o.k. she did the potty earlier and did #1 this evening, her sleep is very peaceful.

Tommorow, I will not be leaving the house.. my truck is sitting on E and will stay that way till payday. I wouldn't do that if it were winter but in the summer it's o.k. gas station is next door.

RobertaD

Thank you for continuing to post about your water collection, you really are inspiring me.

Anna

Anna---So glad to hear about Windi! Beware about getting your gas down to such levels. It can drudge stuff up from your gas tank. Something like that.
Connie---So glad the leg is feeling better. Still need to email me about what exactly you are doing with your skirt. lol When you get a second.
By the way...living in the Poconos is beautiful but you don;t want to deal with hte traffic, etc. Where I am I am wooded. But the traffic. We have a place called the Crossings that just drwas people. It is a shopping area where there are all kinds of stores. 5 minutes from me after I get off my hill. Never go! We also have Camelback Ski area. Also water park. Now they have a new one Great Wolfe which is an indoor water park.. If that's not enough the Casino is only like 15 minutes away.

I totally understand about the tourist traffic. We live within walking distance of the Crew Stadium (soccer team) and when there is a game, you can not get off my street unless you go down to the opposite end of the street and away from the stadium, creates some challenging thinking on getting where you need to be. They also host music concerts, those are even worse. We're also 2 exits from the Ohio State Fairgrounds so when the fair is on or events such as the annual Quarterhorse Show, Hot Rod show, etc. whew! The Crew sends us free tickets to a game every year to compensate for our troubles, would be great if we were soccer fans. We give them to our friends or family who are into that.. this year I gave them to my sister.

Frugal today as I mentioned will be hanging out at home. It rained again this morning so I haven't had to water my plants in a couple days. I'm not sure what the day will bring, if Maddy will be coming over or not yet. She is such a darling, she brushed Angel and Katie both yesterday twice.. good thing she didn't have her hair accessories or nail polish with her, LOL! My dogs loved it and they look so much better, she did a great job. So I guess that's another frugal no beauty salon for my doggies.

Good morning all!!

I know what you mean about not wanting to drive too far on a holiday weekend. Being within 1/2 hour from the shore, the casinos, and within 15 minutes of a multilivel mall, across the street, a shopping center like the crossings, on the side, across the street, the same layout, and then behind that, the entrance and exit to the expressway, and a little further down, another shopping center. But, if you go the other side of the mall, there is Walmart. As you can see, shopping out of my area is no longer a draw. And there is another larger (and older) multilevel mall about 10 minutes away from the frist, and yes, there is another shopping center across the highway from there too. And a shopping center with Kmart as the anchor, and a Sam's Club across the street even closer to Atlantic City. Sometimes I wonder why I shop online, and then at other times, there is no confusion!!!

Anna, again, I am so glad Windi's tummy is working properly again. Now she has to get her indoor manners back, so that she toilets where you want her to.

Well ladies, better go for now, and get ready for this big day ahead at work. I will be taking those tylenol arthritis soon. Also, I received a magazine in yesterday's mail, Athritis, Self-Management. It has articles for both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I have the latter. Could be a free subscription I signed up for online somewhere. I didn't see an invoice to write "cancel" on it and return it.

Take care all!! Norma

We got some more rain during the night so I'm happy as the garden really needed a good soaking. I collected another 6 gallons this morning should get some more as the down spouts were still dripping. I'm really upset with my utility bill as the electric was up $15 I know it was from the 90+ degree weather we had. Wonder what it would have been if I'd been running my dryer too!

I'm glad for the rain water so the water bill wasn't up also. Supposedly we will have some more rain at dinner time today. I pay more in sewer charges than the water costs, wild.

I have a couple windows open today so no A/C today.

Roberta, don't you love not having to have the a/c on?

My frugal, my a/c has been off since Monday!!! I'm working thru my lunch, leaving at 4 to get my oil changed before next week's trip to drop the girls off. Spent about $45 and some change at Aldi yesterday. It was so cute, I took Alyssa with me shopping. I had $70 on me, put $10 in the gas tank so she knew I had $60 to go to Aldi with. We did our little bit of shopping, got things I knew I could stretch and at the check out it was the $45 and some change. She didn't say anything till we got in the car and then said to me, Mom, how much money do you have left. I told her about $14 and she said "Man, money sure doesn't last long does it!" I just laughed at her and agreed, no sweets, it doesn't...

Today's frugal, a/c off again, meals cooked at home. Not frugal but frugal in the long run is the oil change. I keep it changed every 3000 miles as I know what happens if you don't. Living with the ex bf taught me that as many repairs as I used to go on with him!

Hope you all have a lovely day! Will check in soon!!!

Lisa
