Isn't it hilarious how DH's all have a "thing" about the temp. in the house?? We have a constant battle for the thermostat. He likes it to be steamy in the house in the Winter, and I say just put on a sweater. Meanwhile, I have the sweats so bad!!! that it is running down my face, LOL Then along comes summer, and he who supposedly hates the cold, all of a sudden is the boss of the AC. Oh my, such awful things we all put up with, ha,ha,ha. Frugal has been staying away from the mall and stores since Saturday. We have been enjoying the hikes in the trail these past few days, because it is just overflowing with lady slippers. For some reason they are all yellow this year, whereas last year we had some pink and white. Have a super day, e1

OMG I got bargain of the century at Ikea today. We're in desperate need on new crockery as the kids keep breaking plates and so does DH...

Went down to Ikea today and bought 12 bowls at 9pence each and 10 plates at 19pence each! Sooo pleased!! That's a new bowl and plate each with a few to spare for breaks/guests!

Sarah Jean that's great!!! Congrats to you!

Not so frugal again today (sigh). Had to buy Megan a new swimsuit, she's grown so much since last year, quite a few inches actually and nothing fit. I cannot believe how expensive they are...even on discount!

Am waiting to start laundry till after 6 pm when my Power Smart rates are cheaper. I really do like the Power Smart pricing I get thru my electric supplier, has helped a LOT in my heating and cooling!

We've got thunder and lightning, think it's going to just miss us though. I better get off here and unplug just in case.

Hugs,
Lisa

I was laughing about you all complaining about dhs and AC. In my house I am the one turning it one and setting it lower. I hate to be hot and just can’t handle the heat. This weather stirs up my allergies too. So far I’ve kept it off but once it goes on it stays on until fall. My db , who is in heating and air conditioning, claims it is cheaper to put it on and leave it on. It keeps the humid air out that way & in my case the allergens.

We hit Kroger and Sam’s in te last 2 days. Did wonderful at Kroger, marked down bacon for .99 and sliced honey ham, 16 oz., for $.49. The hams use by date was July so I stocked up. Did a lot of stocking up at Sam’s but the freezers are full and so is the pantry. We should only need produce, milk and lunchmeat for the month.

Not to frugal but fun we took dgd out to breakfast to celebrate the end of the school year. We had fun and really enjoyed her company. I am lucky to have her live with us.
We did get good news dd#2 ‘s dealership is not one being closed. She works for a Cadillac dealer & She has been sweating it , dd#1 &3 got their letter for next year , they are to be reemployed. Now if dd#3 can find something for the summer maybe she can get out of debt.

Good evenign all!!

We had the big storm pass through here about a 1/2 hour before leaving work. It was nasty. But, I had unplugged the computer before I left this morning, and am glad I did. I also unplugged myself from my earpiece as soon as the first of the lightning struck. I am able to use the phone at those times, and not have something stuck in my head.

Got all 1,090 statements in the mail, along with about a hundred invoices from yesterday's sales, folded; and filed the salesman's mail (we have 46 salespeople), and even started hunting up some "house account numbers" to give to my newest salesman. The company president and supervisor of the salespeople did not realize we even have accounts in the area this person will be in. He is expected to grow his own area. Now it is someone else's responsibility to make him a list of what I gave her and we can get this to him on Friday. That is what happens when you give me mindless things to do like stuffing envies, I figure out that we can help this guy out. I think that because the others who are supposed to know this, didn't because they don't take orders often, and certainly not from out of the country.

And, I would not have been able to work so well without my tylenol arthritis. As soon as the water was hot for a cup of tea at work, I took them for my hands. Helps them to work a lot better, and faster.

Well ladies, better go for now. I have had some salad, but need to go make the pasta and sauce for the rest of my dinner.

Take care all!! Norma

Good evening all.

QUESTION? What does subbing mean?

Sarah-Jean - what is 9 pence equal to in American dollars? Just curious.

FRUGAL TODAY - Did decide to get 2 new hummingbird feeders. (Mine leak and are messy). Got 2 at K-Mart for a total of 12.50. They were on clearance. So far no leaks or mess, also no hummys yet either!
Went and paid the health insur. Filled tank with gas after weekend trip. Averaged about 18 1/2 mpg on last tank.
Came home and worked in yard. Cleaned up the messy looking peonie bushes (cut all dead flowers off). Cleaned out both bird baths and refilled. General yard work.
Did a load of clothes and 1 of throw rugs. Hung outside. Got them down in time for quite a rain storm. Supposed to really cool off next few days - so AC will be off.
All meals from home. Large chef salads for dinner. Getting ready to order car tags online as it saves $5 off price.
Looks like more rain is coming.

Hope you all have a great evening.

Cheryl, subbing is when someone just goes on this forum to "subscribe", not necessarily post right away.

Took Rachel to go see if she qualified for the Summer Works program from the local employment agency. Due to my low income of course she qualified. They also told me to try again for Link (food assistance). I will.

Just ate a bit, gonna get ready for church. Did plant my flowers now need to go water them as the rain doesn't quite get under the porch overhang.

Have a great evening all!

Hugs,
Lisa again can't make up it's mind!
