RobertaD, I have a drying rack and it was the best investment I ever made. It's paid for itself many times over.
Lisa, I hope things work out for you whatever you decide about the job. I have been there too. Have you thought about selling Avon on the side? It can be very lucrative. Roberta does a great job at it and I know lots of people like her that really make a living at it.
Anna, are you going to watch westerns today? What are David's favorites?
Laurie, I have been half selling, not devoting what I should to it. Guess I need to hop down off the fence huh?
Gonna go start my day. Applied online for the VA Hospital in the next town...now that I'm registered on the USAJobs website I can access it whenever. It's a start!
Laurie, I haven't set up the site yet, have just been distributing books, only a handful of customers as of yet. Gotta get more into it, I let other things take precedence...as I always do.
I have a feeling I'm going to have to turn on the a/c sooner rather than later, it's only 9 am and 77 F in the house, with the curtains closed. Still holding out, they are calling for rain so that means temp drop.
Okay, off to dry my now red hair (LOL) and go drop off some resumes in the mail!
I have the windows open but its 75 outside right now so will be closing up the house soon. Its 78 in the house so I bumped the thermostat up to 80 since I had the windows open.
I'm feeling lazy today which isn't a good thing have lots to do with not a lot of time since I have to leave at 4 for the PC Tribute dinner tonight for Avon. Taking the kids to the library at 3 to get signed up for the reading program before taking them to Grandmas.
Rented a Red Box movie last night to watch today so will return that before I leave town.
Wow you all have been so busy.
Lisa,So sorry yourjob isn;t working out. I hope you can find the job that you are looking for.
Frugal for me.?Last night took my middle dd to swim practice.Today we have had some rain. The only money that I am planning on spending is the money for a test that needs to get sent to the school today.Maybe I will
So sorry about that not sure what happened.Maybe I will try to run it down to the guidance counslor as he lives down the street from us.So for today we are staying home and my youngest has been keeping me busy playing on the Wii.
Bye for now,
Mish
Anna, my dh and I are like that on the AC, he'd keep it on 24/7, not me. He knows I am always cold, we sleep with it on low or he says he doesn't sleep well. He turns it off when he gets up at 5am and I leave it off most of the day. My house is a "cold" house in my opinion, stays nice and cool on summer mornings but in the winter is also slow to warm up. Some days I never need the AC on myself but turn it on about 15 minutes before dh arrives home from work and he is happy. On the weekend I've been known to have sweats and/or socks on in the house when he keeps the AC on LOL.
Lisa, I hope you find a job you like better. Good for you though holding on to this one in the meantime. About the forgetting your lunch, I watch one grandbaby at her house one day a week and always take a lunch with me that day. I make it the night before and put my car keys in the frig on top of the bag. I can't leave without the keys so that way I get the lunch too. I also stack library books, forms I might need for an appt., etc. on top of my purse since I wouldn't be going anywhere without that so I don't forget things. Sometimes if it's a lot of things and the heat or cold won't bother them I'll take them out right when I think of it and put them in the vehicle.
Kathy, good job coming home and making dinner even though you didn't feel like it. Heck sometimes I don't feel like cooking even when I've been home all day and have no excuse. Eating out is one of my downfalls.
Roberta, I don't have any kids at home to be embarrassed by what I hang on the line. My clothesline is those big T bars on the end with 5 ten to twelve foot lines across. I hang the undies in the middle so you'd really have to drive slow and make a point to look to see what was in the middle lines. Since we live way off the highway on a dirt road we get very little traffic up here, more squirrels, rabbits, etc. than anything.
Norma, I get that shopping "urge" sometimes too when I don't need a thing. Good for you staying away from the stores. I hope you have a good day at work and get all those invoices done.
Frugal today will be another day at home, will call in RX refills and pick them up at the end of the week. Need to take pork chops out of the freezer, will cook with scalloped potatoes for dinner. Last week dd2 (in CT) hinted that I should mail her and her dh some chocolate chip cookies. I told her she could make them herself, she says they don't taste the same that she has tried. So I guess I will make her a batch and pack them up and mail them out tomorrow when I go into town to babysit. I plan all my local errands on Wednesdays now when I go to ds1's house to babysit his daughter. For the summer I will babysit the 2 older grandkids (7 and 2 1/2) on Fridays and their dad will drop them off for the most part and dd1 picks them up when she is done working. Only exception being when dsil is out of town on a fire which happens a few times over the summer, then I have to go pick them up as dd1 has to be at work at 5:30am and the kids are still in bed.
Jamie, I'll be thinking of you today as you are babysitting that 3yo boy, is he a relative or friends child?
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
