Roberta, our a/c is on, I set it before I left, it will kick on when it hits 78F in the house. I went and ran errands on lunch and it was 91F according to the thermometer on the minivan. I believe it too. I rarely set the a/c below 78F, no reason to, they can wear tank tops! We've been using the ceiling fans up till now, and 2 oscillating fans.

Not frugal, went to Arby's for lunch. That's what I get for leaving my lunch in the fridge at home! The line was unreal at McD's both inside and out, usually get something from the $1 menu. Guess I'll have to write notes on my hands to remember to get my lunch out of the fridge, lol!

I think I'm going to make an appointment at Extra Help in town, see if they can't find me something different. Seriously, I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to walk out tonight. If I didn't need the paycheck you know?

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon!

Lisa

Lisa, great pictures. I think tanktops are a great invention! Love them. I am sorry this job hasn't worked out.
I did two loads of laundry. The kids are outside moving bricks around. The patio around the pond will have to wait. We don't have the money for pavers or bricks. Might be able to find some, somewhere. Who knows? lol
Jasmine and I are writing a outline for our 'say all' when we call the local radio station. I am really struggling with all the negitivity.
I need to work on a resume. There is a job here I am interested in.

Happy June to all!!!

Sarah-Jean - welcome aboard. Good going on the deals.

Lisa - The 30-hour famine is such a neat idea. Love box city! I think it teaches young people they have a lot to be thankful for. Only by the grace of God - they could actually be living that way.

Frugal today- All meals from home. No spending. Delivered a homemade birthday card and homemade raspberry ice cream to a friend today for her birthday. Checked out her flower gardens (her whole yard!). Seriously she has prob. 100 sq. feet of grass in whole yard. Rest is flower gardens and walkways.
Fed the outdoor critters. Made a gal. of sweet tea, and filtered water for frig. jugs.
Took a nap this afternoon. Really took it easy again today.
Rain will be here shortly. 80% chance tomorrow, and 70% on Wed. No watering for a while! And rain barrels are full !!!! Hope the severe stuff stays away.
Our AC is set at 78 as well. It has come on quite a bit lately. Supposed to cool up some after tomorrow. YAY !!!!

Hope you all have a safe one.

Welcome to you Sara Jean, and madmum also! i don't think I got the chance to welcome you yet. How wonderful to get such great deals!
Kathy, we are having the lasagna tomorrow. I'll save a spot for you!
Norma, that was such a great deal on the lima beans. I love your idea of stocking up on varieties of beans, too!
Good for you Chris, on knowing when to say no. Sometimes you just need to.
Lisa, great pics!
We have been running our ac too, as it has been hot for a while. Have also been keeping the shades closed and the fans going. Have it set around 78* also. Frugal today will be veggie soup, in the crock pot, and cubed grilled chicken. If I have time this evening, I would like to make some rice crispy treats. Tomorrow, I will be babysitting a three year old little boy, so frugal is having dinner already made. I am thinking that I might be tired by then and it would be easy to cave for pizza or something. lol Other than that, I've just been spending time working on knitting some graduation gifts and enjoying my library books.
Have a lovely evening!
Jamie.

Hello, friends, you have been busy. I was on here yesterday, and I still had quite a bit of catching up to do!

Lisa, I'm sorry your job isn't working out for you. I hope something better comes along very soon. Thanks for sharing the pics! Looks like everyone had a lot of fun!

Sarah-Jean, welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know you and learning some frugal tips from you.

Jamie, I'll be thinking about you running after a 3-year-old tomorow. That would definitely do me in!

My big frugal today was NOT giving in to buying dinner out tonight. I was so tired as I didn't get much sleep last night and work was pretty hectic today. But I came home and put together a chicken caesar salad from lo chicken, and heated up baked potatoes made on the grill last night, but not eaten. We've been eating out a lot more since I started working, but I've been doing a lot better lately. I haven't bought a meal out in 2 weeks - woohoo!

Oh, well, I need to go get lunches started and make the coffee for the morning. I won't be hanging clothes out tomorrow since it's supposed to rain all day. Yay! We really need it.

Sleep well, friends. I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Kathy

Good Morning My Frugal Friends

Dh has a case of lazyidess so he's taking a vacation day... so will have him underfoot today. I would like to have had him do the weed whacking today but it's going to be very hot and he can't be out in it, so it's not going to be a frugal day as we battle over running the AC all day (sigh). I normally leave it off and the windows open when he's not home. The good part about the hot day is I will be able to hang clothes outside. We had thunderstorms last night so after I finally put all the mulch down (still need more) I didn't water everything, let nature take care of it. We had our neighbors over in the evening till it got dark. Madyson caught a toad this weekend at her grampa's cabin so her Dad got her a atrium and they set up a house for it and bought it crickets which it ate most of, hungry little booger. The guy at the pet store is in college studying frogs (forget the professional term) and said they can live inside for up to 5 years if fed a proper diet. Ick! but she's thrilled.

Kathy and Jamie

Good going on being prepared with meals instead of caving into fast food, it's so easy to fall into that temptation. We have alot of extra bills coming up.. AAA, car tags, etc. next month and year up catch up on the end of the budget year for electric so money's going to be tight for awhile so we'll be guarding our pennies closely. I have a potential nibble on a case of my reed diffuser bottles so that's a little extra change we may have and less clutter in my cabinets. Frugal yesterday too was bringing up another box of winter fragrance oils and discovering I had Pumpkin Pie which I thought I was out of and planned to buy my next trip to the suppliers. It looks like all I'm going to need is alot of fragrance oil bottles to get everything organized and ready to pull off the shelfs to take to the store when the season starts. It should be a good month for sales, they have a washboard festival (Logan is the home of the only remaining washboard company in America) and a midnight torch canoe ride thing this month. They have a canoe rental in the same area where our store is, everyone will rent canoes and carry a torch down the river would be neat to see if we were down there at night.

Good morning all!!

Frugal yesterday, was all meals from home, same today. Also, frugal was coming right home from work, and avoiding the temptation to go shopping. I just have the urge, not a thing I need. So, you know, I would be like the zombie, walkng down the aisles, putting things in my cart and only waking up after paying for it all, and wondering "What did I do???". Staying home is safer.

Lisa, I am sorry you are not being challenged the way you would like to be at work. But, you have to realize, you came from a situation where you ran your department. These folks already have their system in place, good, bad or otherwise. If you like the people, and get along, and basically enjoy the kind of work you are doing, that goes a long way.

Connie, good luck on getting a resume together. You can do it. If you need any help, or want someone to review it, I will be happy to help you.

Today at work I will get the monthly statements to send out. I should have them all done before the end of the day, even with the interruptions. We send out about a thousand a month, depending on the number of different companies who have balances. And it is my "easy" day, so I should be able to get it all done pretty easily. Hope they have them on my desk when I walk in though.

Ladies, better go for now. I need to get dressed, and get lunch together.

Take care all!! Norma

Anna, sorry about dh being home, I remember how that was. Actually I have that with the girls when we are all home together, lol.

Norma, I do understand that, I just already know what it will be like when she's gone as the few times she's had days off he's been frantic. I'm not going in today. I have a f/u w/ my doctor, have to take Rachel to Man tra con when she gets out of school to go for a job interview (I have to go because she's a minor) so will put out resumes since I'm taking the day. I wasn't going to take the day just leave to go to my appt but since I have to go with her too then I might as well just miss the day.

Frugal today, I have the a/c set to 78 F so it won't go on for awhile. Will get my Aldi run done after my doctor's appointment then come home and print out those resumes, go in on the ones that want you to apply in person.

Hugs to you all and I hope you have a great day.

Lisa
