Norma, yes, I am sewing tops but I still bought a few. I also bought some material. I should be cleaning and organizing my sewing room. It needs it badly. I am not in the mood to do it even though it has to be done today. I have a lot on my mind.

Lisa, my Big DS participated in the same famine this weekend at his school. He said they showed the movie Supersize Me and the kids alternated between wanting the burgers and being grossed out, LOL. They had pizza to break the fast. I found out about the pizza that morning--told him (and his girlfriend who was running the event) that if I'd had a few days' notice I could have made them a nice big baked ziti dinner with meatballs, salad & bread for the price of 2 pizzas. Looks like I am on the hook for next year but that's OK; I like cooking and at least this way the kids would get all the food groups!

Connie---I am always here to lend a listening ear!
Not much frugal today. Went to Shop Rite and did my shopping. I did "load" up on quick meals for DH and DS. It's another busy week at work. DS starts his job tomorrow. I am so glad he got his summer job back. It is very good for him.
I am thinking Monday and Tuesday may be normal hours (what are normal hours at that place?). Wednesday will be late and the rest of the week will be a blur. I am hoping to go see DD and family either tomorrow after work or Tuesday. DGD is soooooo cute. I would be posting pics, but dh left the camera in my dd's van yesterday! We would have to drive about 50 minutes to get it so we are waiting.

Lauri thanks. I get so frustrated! I feel like the same things are happening to us over and over. All I want is to get the hell out of here. I am sick of the narrow mindedness of this community. There are a few people who are happy for Jasmine and Stuie but I can think of one who isn't a fence sitter. Can't upset anyone to everyone stays quiet.

Lauri, I love your dgd's name. Both my daughters and 2 of my dgd's have unusual names, the boys don't though, I've been asked how that happened, don't know, just the way it is. LOL Can't wait to see that photo of the new dgd. Hope things aren't too crazy at work this week for you.

Connie, glad you got some good deals at the yard sales. I was reading in today's Parade mag insert about the "Longest Yard Sale" and showed it to dh. He loves yard/garage sales and swap meets to look for older Hot Wheels. Glad you got rid of some stuff by putting free signs on it too.

Mish, I hope your daughter has a good time at camp, what kind of camp is it? Are your kids out of school yet? Ours ended Friday.

Lisa, glad you were treated to Wendy's, I like the spicy chicken sandwich but haven't been there in ages. Nice of you to help out at the famine.

LoriMae, my dh loves tamale pie, they used to have a version at Costco he loved and they quit carrying it. I haven't made him a homemade one in awhile, better do that soon.

Kathy, I bought a new comforter/sheet set today at Target so I need to get linens on the line also. Hope you have a easy work week. Glad you are enjoying your job.

Cau, good job on showing your dd about the frugal meals and all those different flavors.

Roberta, good job passing up the grocery store this week. I did better in May than I have in months, hope to keep that up. Less trips to the store is helping me. Now to keep me out of those restaurants.

Anna, I'm glad you got to go see your neice and nephew and your sister and other niece and nephew also. We stopped by and saw dd1 and her kids on the way home from the city today. Dsil was at work.

Norma, sounds like you did good with your shopping. I'm not a big fans of beans, well I do like refried beans at the mexican restaurant. I made some pinto beans in the crock pot with pork roast this week, dh loved it but I thought it was kind of blah even though I put spices in.

My frugal for today was unplanned. We had gone to the city so dh could help his oldest daughter buy a car and since it's financed it had to be added to our insurance (she will pay the premium and car payment). Well when I got home and called the insurance and got it all set, the agent was asking me about the vehicle I drive and if I still drive xx miles to and from work each day and I said no, I no longer worked and drive much less. It made our insurance premium go down. Now I should have known that and called and changed it a year and half ago when I quit. Since I didn't I wasted over $200 but now we'll be saving.

Jacki---Way to go on the insurance. That's awesome.
Connie---You have been through so much my friend.
My big thing now is going back to work tomorrow after knowing someone didn't follow up on something for me and guess what!!! I am tired of it. I gave her notes. I know people heard me when I left. We are only talking about 40 lost here but I don't get paid to take work home with me. Yet I do.
Anyhow....I am so happy all worked out the way it did.....My granddaughter is gorgeous... My GS is jealous as he should be. Guess what? Other than my mom and dad not one of my family has called to congratulate! Guess what!!!! It's there problem. And they will get there's. I was brought up hearing everything comes around! I don't wish anyhting on anybody, but if you cannot even call and congratulate me or (my daughters godfather who is my brother ) No one has called. I am really p'od!

Lauri - thanks for your kind comments for my dgd. We had her graduation party today at her house near mine, catered it ourselves, her Mother and me, got the ice in the cooler free from McDonald's. I found out a long time ago that all you have to do is ask for ice at McD's and they will fill your cooler. So, a good frugal day. Although it was the hottest day this year in the Upstate of SC, we were cool in the house and outside under the shade trees.
Frugal tomorrow will be showing my granddaughter how to do a Coupon Shopping Trip. I also had a request from a Millionaire at the party today to do the same with him. He saw the full page newspaper article about me and my coupons in Jan 2009 and remembered it when he met me today.

Good Morning Everyone

This thread will be closing soon as today is June 1st, Wow another month of frugality over and a new one to start fresh .

Blondie

That is great that McDonalds did that for you... I don't think they would up here.

Lauri

Sorry your family has been less than supportive about the new grand daughter, that is odd.. it's such a happy occassion.

I spent a hour and a half on the phone talking to my nephew (15 yo) last night, I'm surprised he wanted to talk that long but it is nice getting to know him again. He will be getting his drivers license in Sept. so we talked about buying cars and of course like all boys he looked on Craigslist and said "Oh they have a TransAm on sale for $1500.00 the pictures look good, dh chuckled and said "Does it say it runs" LOL! and I talked to him about why he shouldn't get a car like that that his insurance would be sky high. And at least here in Ohio, you have higher rates as a teen and they really don't drop much till you turn 25. Things his Dad and step mom should have already been talking to him about I'm thinking???

Frugal today is the AC is off and I will open the windows soon as it's still a little chilly outside and of course the yearly battle is on with dh about keeping the AC off. I will be hanging a load of clothes outside here in a bit I didn't get that third load of clothes washed yesterday. We watched The Mummy, Return of the Dragon I think it was called?? Kind of a hokey movie till the end when they had the battle. Too much lovey dovey stuff for me, blah! Not sensual just romantic fluff that didn't need to be in the movie IMO.

Well gang, I need to start picking up and doing dishes and getting a strategy together for housecleaning this morning.

Anna
