Glad Sophie is home. She will be much better now!!

Frugal today -Finally got the floors vauumed as well as furniture. Did the revitalizing thing to my wood floors again. They look so pretty.
Made a birthday card for brother and mailed it.
Did run by Kroger and got store brand pop. 3/12's for $5. Got 6. That's 3 cases of pop for less than 2 of reg. brand. Need to slow down on pop. It's my one vice. lol
Also bought 10 lbs. of hamburger at 1.39 lb. for freezer. Used some and have a meat loaf in oven now. Sounded good, haven't had that for quite a while.
Also stopped by the "Nut" house (prob. should live there - haha), and stocked up on nuts again for snacking.
Raining and 70's. It's rained 4 days this week so far! No heat or AC.

Hope you all have a GREAT MAY DAY! Can you believe it's already MAY???!!!!

Anna, I watched almost all of "Beauty Shop" this afternoon while folding laundry, cleaning bathroom, etc. Kevin Bacon was such a hoot as "Jorge" Thanks for recommending it. Don't know when I'll get to see the end as this is not a movie to watch with kids around.

There is no way I can comment on everything, I did read it but the brain just does not retain like it used to.
I’m so glad Sophie is home and recovering. It is scary to think the shots don’t prevent parvo
I went to the allergy dr today. Unfortunately no generic for the inhalers I’m on. I go on Medicare next month and let me tell you part d absolutely stinks compared to my insurance. Dh’s union stopped covering retirees after part d went into effect. What was costing me $40. For a 3 month supply is going to be costing me $190. a month. That is only 1 of 3. O well life goes on
Reread America’s Cheapest Family, I can’t buy into all of what they do but it puts me in the right frame of mind.

Good evening all!!

Cau, I am so sorry that the meds will cost so much more now.

Karen, that is teriffic about Sophie.

Barb, I am in the same boat as you when it comes to being out in the sun. And on top of that, I don't do heat well either - I get heat headaches, and can turn my stomach also.

Lisa, glad you are able to tan. That is why I garden before the sun comes out. Also, there are a lot less bugs at that time of day.

Sue you got some great deals on meat. Homemade chicken broth is so much better than te cubes. A lot less salt too. Sorry about the van, hope it is a simple fix.

Cheryl, the soda deal was good.

Ladies, better go for now. I have to really start planning these next 5 days.

The lawn was mowed inbetween the showers today. The guy will be here on Sunday to put the extra soil on my planting beds. Either Monday or Wednesday, I will be planting seeds and plants (that I need to buy either tomorrow or Sunday). Of course it has to stop raining in order for him to do this.

Take care all!! Noma

Cau

Wow! that is very expensive. I don't know alot about medicare since dh's mom passed away we don't hear all the terminology on the different types. I am so sorry to hear this, gosh that would be so scary with our income I don't know how we could swing that much each month for one medicine. That is more than we pay for all ours combined and I'm sure as we get older there will be more added to the list. I hope Obama starts addressing this issue as he promised to do.

Just wanted to check in girls. I got home today from my second stay in the hospital. On April 18 I had terrible pain that put me in the er. They found I had a large mass on my left side that was connected to my left ovary. On April 20 I had surgery to have it removed along with a hysterectomy(sp). I came home Thursday before last only to wake up in severe pain last Friday. On Saturday I ended up back in the hospital my bowels had shut down, I was dehydrated and I had to have a blood transfusion on Sunday. Then on Sunday I lost control of my bladder. They did another procedure yesterday and found out my ureter on the left side has torn and that is why I lost control of my bladder. I came home today but I had to come home with a catheter. The mass they took out was the size of a soccer ball but thank the good Lord was not cancer. I have a long road ahead. My doctor put a stint in my ureter and hopes it will heal back together so the stint can be removed in a few months. I sure do need prayer right now. My life changed so fast. I used to take my health for granted but I don't plan on doing that anymore. I had no ideal I was so sick and this has changed my life so much. I hope I get to stay home until my checkups in two weeks and I hope I can check in more.

Jean

I have wondered how you were and so sorry to hear that you have been going through so much. Was the tumor a fibroid? It sounds like it. I had a co-worker that had one the size of a basketball removed. Unbelievable something that big could be inside you and you really don't feel it. Mine was the size of a melon but the doctor said it has been shrinking as I near menopause. I hope that you continue to heal with no more complications, bless your heart and of course my continued prayers go out to you.

Anna
