Has anyone talked to Bar Bar? I did earlier in the week but couldn't get ahold of her yesterday. They were having some issues with food stamp paperwork. I am concerned. I will call her tomorrow afternoon.
Five pound boxes of sweet tators!! Yummy! I have been roasting carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and potatoes for veggies. The family loves them.
I finished up the kids senior pictures for the grandparents. I forgot to buy frames but made do with some frames I had. I was working my buns off making pretty scrapbook pages, then thought why go to this much work? Chances are the pictures will never be hung up. I have nice plain pictures in nice frames. Done.
Cheryl sounds like fun!
I got my Christmas cards done! Dd helped me.

Norma, that sweet hot mustard is so good. What a terrific buy on the sweet potatoes!
Anna, I'm so sorry to hear about the soap. Maybe give it some time and they will change their minds. Did you give them a few small samples of your soap? Might help for them to know what they are missing out on.
I hope everyone with bad weather keeps warm and safe this weekend. And that no one loses power!
Mish have fun tomorrow!
Connie, it sounds like you are having a nice weekend.
Patti, cake sounds good...hope it turned out well!
Kathy, I hope your party was a success. Your menu sounds wonderful!
Frugal for today was just staying home. I reserved books online through the library and caught up a bit on laundry. Also, made some cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow morning and worked on some knitting. All in all, a quiet weekend...except for the Dallas Cowboy game (accompanied with loud yelling) going on right now. lol
Have a nice evening!
Jamie.
Anna, I wondered if you cut the bars of soap in half if that would work to lower the price per 'bar'?
I heard a tip tonight from my aunt. She buys asparagus in season, then blanches and sets them in a baggie in teh freezer. When she wants some for dinner, she pulls out as many spears as she wants and nukes them. A way to have 'fresh' asparagus almost year round.

bluebird - when I was married, it seemed we were always buying car batteries. Then, I decided I would only buy the Die Hard Gold from Sears. It is guaranteed 6 yrs. and went 5 1/2. I had the receipt and they gave me back the pro rated price for that 6 mo! There is a Sears in almost every city which is another reason why I only drive with a Die Hard Gold. They were about $79 the last time I bought one, not cheap, but if I go 5 1/2 yrs. with no battery problems, it is worth it to me to pay that! Sorry you are having battery problems. Here the cold weather is coming Monday and Tues, but has been 75 degrees in the Upstate of SC, nice Christmas Shopping Weather. I can get in the mood with that kind of weather although others want snow.
What I did frugal was to visit a friend in the retirement center with my singles group. They sang and we gave him presents. The other residents wants to join us, so they were allowed to do that. Gave them all the Christmas Spirit!
It is ICY here today...DH and I had to go over to church and set up for the Cub Scout babka sale. We got there at 7:35; Mass is at 8 and even with all the ice I could not believe how many were already there!!!
I am crossing my fingers that the weather improves by lunchtime as it is supposed to, as we are hosting a living Nativity at church today. I have to decide whether to cancel the animals or not--and must do so by 10:30 AM. If the weather is bad we can have the event in the gym, but without animals.
Norma, I haven't even looked at the Shop Rite ad yet but I do want to get some sweet potatoes. Yum. Last time I baked the whole box, scraped them out of the shells, mashed them up and froze in portions. This time I might save some as I like to mix them in with regular potatoes for roasting.
Barb,Hope all goes well for the church actvicties.
Connie,Good thinking on your gifts.
Jamie,Sounds like you stayed busy knitting.
Frugal for me?Well all of the kids are up and they were pleased at what Santa brought them.Today we will be home cleaning up and packing for our trip.We leave tommorrow moring. Not too much is new here.
