A couple issues back in All You I think it was it said taking zinc lozenges at the first sign of sneezing and runny nose would lesson the time of the cold by 42%.
A chiropractor told me to eat zinc like it is candy when you are coming down with a cold.
Cau, why don't you try thinking not 'wheelchair bound' but the seated supervisor? The one in charge! Keep a umbrella handy so you can 'charge' those who are not staying on their toes! I would love a picture of you doing this!!
The candy is almost done. I cleaned off the bulliten board. Ds made lunch. The kitchen is a huge HUGE mess but we will clean it up together. Or they will and I will find more things to toss! OR maybe I will sew.......
Called dh. He hasn't heard about the job. He left a message.

I’d Like To Help You Out.. Which Way Did You Come In?
Hi everyone, we are having a very cold windy and snowy day. School was on a 2 hour delay but I have been surprised they haven't let out early. We are supposed to get snow tonight.
I haven't gotten anything much accomplished today like I had planned. I got thrown off schedule with the school changes and have really been lazy today. Hopefully, I will get more done tomorrow.
Frugal is staying home and using up leftover turkey and leftover turkey broth to make a pot pie for supper along with the bits of this and that from other leftovers.
Jacki, I plan on going shopping either Wednesday or Thursday. I will need to set down and write out some bills after while since dh did get paid. Those coconut cookie bars sounds yummy.
Jamie, its good to have you back. We missed you. I hope you found lots of good deals today.
I am adding to my list of grocery items and Christmas things as I can think of them.
Anna, good luck in the new store.
Bilby and Barb, great Christmas hats.
Well take care everyone and if you are in a cold place like us try to stay warm.
Jean
Cau, why don't you try thinking not 'wheelchair bound' but the seated supervisor? I love it Connie, I will definitely do that. Mt family has been great but I do get impatient to be better. I know God’s time not Colleen’s time Stay Warm everyone

Frugal for me?Well it must be a day to be lazy as I haven't gotten to as much stuff as I would like too.I did study my math for abit along with a nap to rest up.
Today my drywall guy is sussopse to be here in abit.If I get another phone that hes not here today their will be screams that everyone will be able to hear.Soon my 3 angels will be home soon. Not sure what I am making for them but it is cold here.
Mish
Hope everyone that's under the weather is feeling better.
Yesterday was a calm quiet day - didn't do much.
Frugal today - not so frugal. Paid health insur. for DH and myself. Went to feed store to stock up on squirrel and bird food. Picked up DH scripts at WG.
Went and picked up "Wish" list for kids at the guardian home. Can't wait to go shopping for them, especially since a lot of the money comes from friends and relatives.
DH and I worked this afternoon coming up with plan for our Christmas cards. We are making them this year - for the first time. We found 2 pictures - one each of DH and myself - each about 3 yrs. old, both on rocking horses and both in pj's with feet. Going to incorporate them into card. Saying will be something about warm memories. They will be so cute. I can't wait to get them done. Family and friends will get a kick out of them!
I'm going to work on that a little more tonight.
I hope you all have a nice evening. Talk t you later

Jean, did you call your doctor, just as a precaution? He is not going to know you are still having a problem, unless you let him know. And since it is not only continuing, but occasionally is worse, it would be such a good idea.
Mish, I am sure you need a nap daily, with all that you have on your plate.
Jackie, nice to know you are still popping in here occasionally. You are certainly busy with the grands, and trying to get Christmas together for your family.
I started wrapping gifts this morning in the couple of extra minutes I found somewhere. I want to do a few a day. I have such a hectic schedule this month. I have 2 dinners, a luncheon, 3 concert performances, 2 more rehearsals, 1 Christmas (eve) party, and now 2 morning classes for work that they just sprang on us today. I have only the 1 party scheduled, and that is just fine by me. My gf and I will still be doing the Thursday night ones, even the company dinner is on Thursday, and she is coming as my guest. Just not Christmas dinner.
Well ladies, better go for now. Christmas is coming.......
Mish, that's wonderful news about your sil! Whew, that must be a huge relief.
Echinacea is good for colds and sore throats, as is the zinc.
Anna, people are so funny sometimes. Yay on having the couch gone, though.
Jean, your pot pie sounds really good. Stay safe with the nasty weather. Hmm, I wonder if we will be getting snow also.
Jacki, good going on being nearly finished with Christmas shopping!
I don't know if I got any great deals today, but we at least stuck to our list and did most all of our shopping at Aldi, except for a few items on sale here and there. We ended up being under budget, so ds and I used some of the money left for lunch at Moes. They have a special on Mondays that you can get a burrito, chips and large drink for 5.00. The burritoes are huge, too. I saved half of mine for dinner. Other than that, got a free Christmas movie using the redbox code and made a batch of spiced tea mix . Going to go relax. Take care my friends and stay cozy and warm tonight!
Jamie.
Here is the recipe for Breakfast Pumpkin Soup. It is great on cold mornings and very simple to make.
1 can (16 oz) pumpkin
1/2 tsp. salt
1 2/3 cup evaporated or plain milk
1/4-1/2 cup honey or Splenda
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Heat in a saucepan over med-low heat until hot. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
