Good evening all!!

Roberta - Happy Birthday to your dh.

Ericka - where are you?? Haven't heard from you in awhile.

Jean, how's the cough? My cold went to my chest on Tuesday, but is so much better - as long as I don't get overheated.

Lisa, I still think you are working too hard.

I received a special blessing today. I came home and found an 80gb iPod in a box addressed to me from don jagoda associates in their Ty-Raps sweepstakes. It will be the toy I take to the concert at church for the DYFS children.

Off to bed...

Take care all!! Norma

That is a great win and so very kind of you to donate it to someone who needs it more.

Anna

Good morning all!!

Anna, this is not something I would keep anyway. I wear an earpiece all day long, and don't think I would cope well with one more in my ears during my non-working hours. Also, this is such a good gift for a teen.

I didn't get a chance to tell you all what I did at work yesterday. I told you, I believe that the warehouse manager had come in and told us that whenever he walks through the order department one of us is expected to sing a Christmas carol. Just break out in song. I took my singing snowmen from Hallmark, lured him in, and then played them for him. The next time he walked through the department, he set them off himself. I won!!!! My co-workers were happy that I was able to get the better of him. I also invited him and his wife to the concert - he told me to tape it - I told him the local tv station was going to do that - he told me to get a copy of the tape, and we could play it in the lunchroom on a laptop. That might be an idea!

There will be 2 nice-sized inserts in this Sunday's papers.

Take care all!! Norma

Good morning girls, I keep trying to read yesterdays posts but my stupid computer kept freezing up on me so some of them I still haven't read. I hope everyone is doing well.

Norma, my cough is much better. Its still there but nothing compared to what it was.

I am thinking of not decorating at all for Christmas. No one here acts like they want to or that they enjoy it anymore and I am not sure I want to go to the trouble of dragging stuff out just for me. I have always decorated for Christmas but everyones attitudes have really gotten me down about it this year.

I was able to get my fil's gift yesterday and another small one for yds and a gift for ods. I still need to do more shopping but I won't be doing much more.

Frugal today will be hopefully staying home and cooking all meals from home. School is on a 2 hour delay due to ice and they get out at 12:30 so its going to be a very short day for yds.

Well my oatmeal is calling my name so I will check in later. Have a good and safe day.

LoriMae--
I loved your post--great words for us all to remember.

Norma--
What a fun win! And how generous of you to donate it!

Connie--
Sorry to hear it's not looking good for dh about the job--but if not this one, something else will come along when it's meant to be.

Roberta--
Hope your dh had a happy birthday!

Frugal for me? I'm skipping the grocery store this week and stretching what's on hand.

And fun for me--my girlfriends and I are having our annual Christmas party/ cookie & candy exchange this Sunday, and I can't wait!!

Have a great weekend!!

Jean, honey, if you want to decorate the house, do it for you. To heck with how the others feel or are acting, YOU matter too! Go with what you want, not what it seems others are feeling or acting like, but what you desire, want. That doesn't mean you have to go all out, but if looking at it makes you feel better, makes you feel happy or secure, then go for it. Don't let others insensitivity rule you. Now I'll stop lecturing or being a bossy mom.

Norma, fantastic win! And I love that you are donating the surprise present to your church, very nice.

Chris, I had wondered if you'd done the cookie exchange. I need to sit down today and get my recipes out and start baking.

Frugal yesterday, made biscuits and gravy, cleaned up and then just had a me rest of the afternoon, I finished a book. The girls were both reading books they'd got from the book fair, we had no tv on at all, just the Christmas tree and the small table light for me, they had their lights on in their room. I love that all 4 of my kids are readers, they get that from me.

Today I'm going to finish wrapping the presents I have, do dishes, laundry, straighten up, attack the girls room, in no particular order.

Now time to wake my ds for school Hugs friends,
Lisa

Jean, I know how you feel about the Christmas decor. We are all adults here and I don't think anyone much cares but me so I decorate for me even if it's small. Actually my kids miss the tradition if I don't decorate. They say "Mom you always decorate".
Maybe it would lift your spirits some if you decorate a little.

futureteacher, Wow hope you have a great time at your party!

Norma, sounds like your workplace is really fun and has some people with good sense of humor.

I've been wondering where Ericka has been too.

Good morning, ladies! It is VERY cold here this morning - 11 degrees! It's so cold that DD2 even wore a coat for a change - lol!

I have quite a busy day ahead of me. I am going out to do some Christmas shopping and run a few other errands. DD2 cleaned out her closet and has a bag of clothes for me to take to Plato's Closet. She will use the money to buy Christmas presents. DD1 made $34 last month when she cleaned out her closet!

I have coupons to use at Victoria's Secret ($10 off a purchase!), Barnes & Noble, and Kohl's. Kohl's is having a big sale today and tomorrow as well. I also have a $5 coupon to use at Walgreen's today.

I am very proud of myself for resisting the temptation to buy fast food for dinner last night. I was REALLY tired and didn't feel like cooking. DH is away on a business trip so it's just dds and me. Instead, I made grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and soup. It was quick, easy and really hit the spot. Best of all, no money spent!

Time to get my butt in gear! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Kathy

It's 17 F here right now at 8:15 am, this is WWWAAAAYYYYYYY too much like Chicago weather for me folks. Where are my 30 F temps????

Kathy, I have a huge bag of clothes to go too but I'm going to drop them off at the Salvation Army store I think, we don't have big re-sale shops and the one we have, a friend of mine owns it, she is filled with clothes, no room for more right now.

Guess I'll start on the dishes. Once the guys leave, dbf for working, ds for school, I'm going to soak in a hot bubble bath...a little ME time right Norma?

TTFN,
Lisa
