I had a wonderful idea tonight. I have small 4 x 6 photo albums to fill with senior pictures of the kids for the grandparents for Christmas. I have saved some digital scrapbook pages on the computer.... I shrunk them down to 4 x 6 to use! They are sooo neat. I have to be careful not to spend too much time on these gifts. It isn't like the grandparents will enjoy them. I will make one for me and I am asking the kids if they want one. I won't fill them up, there are 12 pages! I will take some of the pages out.

I started my Christmas cards today too. Making them NOT addressing them. lol

I cleaned out the bathroom cabinets. I have some items to take to goodwill tomorrow. Yes, dd isn't feeling well so back to the doctor. I think the doctor will put her on a nebulizer. She talked about it last Friday.

$200 is pretty good for your first show, way to go!!

Jeandeannette

I'm with you on the weight issues... until I was married I was very small but with a wonderful mil who liked to cook, busy life schedule with dh and I working and eating out alot in our younger days, I put on the weight and can't get it off either. I have stabilized for years at one weight, doesn't go up or down so my doctor isn't unhappy about that but still... I have been in driving situations and been called "You Fat B****" that hurt! As most of you have read, my dh struggles with obesity so I totally understand all about it. And yes, both my sisters are smaller than me and my little sister said today I'm getting fat, I told her "shut up" LOL!

bluebird - what a nice idea for the photo albums for the grandparents for Christmas. I know they will enjoy them.
jeandeannette - I have been big and lost weight all my life. At 21, I was slim, at 41, I was slim, now 64, guess it is time to get slim again. I did lost a lot of weight last year walking every morning at 7AM with a 77 yr. old who encouraged me. He could run circles around me although I'm so much younger than he is. He does it daily. So when the repairs are done on my house in a few days, I'm ready to walk again, but not outside in the cold weather in SC, but I've joined the Recreation Center which has an indoor track and some exercise equipment. I did go there a few times and feel comfortable there.
With my Mother, I could never get thin enough to please her. She talked about weight all the time. Many did not know that one time she was "fat". Finally, when she was 91, I got her to stop talking to me about weight, other people's of course. She knew 3 people who were childhood friends of mine who got to 450 lbs. When I lost weight, she'd tell my friends I used "to be fat". Then, when I'd gain weight, she'd tell them I "used to be thin". It was a no win situation, so I just forget trying to please her. I can run cirles around most people my age and tell them so. It is only the 77 yr. old man who can run circles around me. I also tell people that most seniors take many meds. I take one and man vitamins and I'm very healthy!
I did get teased all through school about my weight and in my family too since they were all "thinner than I was".. Now, I don't care, do what I want , when I want, find nice clothes to fit me in the thrift shops or Kohl's at a cheap price and get many compliments on my clothes. So, I do understand what you have gone through. Surround yourself with those who love you for who you are!

Lisa, I'm chiming in a little late here, but from looking at your beautiful picture I don't think you have anything to worry about in that department.

Bilby, I use to live in Bend,Oregon and there they used sand and gravel on the roads.

Blessings,
Dawn

Good morning all!!

We might have wet snow this evening. Barb probably won't, because they say the best chance will be along the coast. It will be the first of the season for us. Jean, it looks like you will be getting quite a bit. Barb, are your "weather-geeky" guy prepared for this???

In New Jersey, we use salt, salty water (brine), ice melting crystals, and sand, depending on whether they think they can prevent ice, or if it is just snow, or if they are tryingn to give you traction on ice. There are formulas that the highway crews use to determine which is the best formula for the moment. And that can change rapidly.

Last night I altered the length of a one of those 2 "guys" shirts I have and it should be just right now. I forgot to put the pleat in the shoulder, so when I am off here I will do that as I think I want to wear it to work today.

Ericka, that sounds like it was a good sale. Don't look at it badly, you got your name and number out there to a lot of folks. And I am sure you displayed items so they will think about it for Christmas gifts, even if they didn't buy just yet.

Well ladies, better go for now.

Take care all!! Norma

Thanks girls for understanding about my weight problems. Anna, I am so sorry that anyone would say that to you while driving. Thats just wrong and says a lot about the person who would say that.

Blondie, I am sorry that your mom or anyone would say things to you about your weight. I know from personal experience you surely didn't deserve it.

I am trying as I have said to lose weight. I am trying to use portion control and some days go real good and others not so good. Its a hard time of the year to watch what I eat because of all the holiday candy and such but I will try and with the Lords help I know anything is possible. I also know that how much a person weighs should never determine their value. I am a person God made and loves and no matter what the world says that makes me good enough.

I wanted to mention that Kelloggs has specical marked boxes of cereal that you can get your money back on. Its the Smart Start cereal or the Blueberry Frosted mini wheats cereal. There may be others I am not sure. I bought the Smart Start the other day and I fixed up the refund last night. I think the cereal is very good.

Well I must go fix breakfast for my ds before he leaves for school and then I have to go have more blood work so I will check in later. Have a wonderful day.

Ericka sounds like you had a pretty good show. You might want to type up a list of what you have left with sale prices and take with you on deliveries and to work to sell some more before sending it back for credit.

Looks like $.59 lb for turkey is going to be the best deal I can get. Still need to find out what the inlaws are doing for Thanksgiving that way I'll know what size to buy.

We got about 2 inches of snow overnight the kids will be happy since the snow on Saturday didn't stick.

Good Morning Everyone

We got a light dusting of snow this morning, didn't start till somewhere between 5am and 6am after I had let the dogs back in from their morning constitution. Dh said it was a little slick driving into work this morning. I have to leave here shortly to go to Walmarts... Oh I'm so kicking myself in the butt for not doing that Friday when I was out at the candle store. I also have to go to Meijers and GFS, it's a definite stock up week and Walmarts doesn't sell fresh fish only frozen so I have to go to all 3, major wipeout day when I'm done.

Well better go start getting dressed.

Oh Boggz, that's a great deal on getting the dog fixed!

Good morning friends.

Roberta, SNOW? Oh I hope it's a good long time till we see snow. I don't know why I care as I don't HAVE to go out in it now but still! I hope your kids enjoy it though.

Norma, I don't even have to ask if you are prepared for the snow or not, I am sure you are. I think it's wonderful that you are able to alter the mens shirts for your use!

Karen, animal welfare is a great resource. It was $50 here if I took Angel Baby (kitty) to get neutered there but they don't de-claw and the drive is a good hour from here. As it was I'm very happy my vet only charged $90 for a front de-claw and neuter. He's doing very well, still moving a bit slow but that doesn't stop him from jumping up onto the couch or the chair.

I sat down last night and made out my menu for the week (so proud of myself). After I drop all kids off at their schools and wake ds I'll take a shower, head out to Aldi for groceries, have to pick up some pics at WalMart and then pick Mom up for our once a week date.

I do have to throw some more wash in but I'm about caught up, for today. That will change by this evening, lol.

Hugs to you all my friends. I hope everyone has a calm and stress free day. Will check in on you all later.

Lisa
