Boy I missed for a day or so and it pages. You are all doing great on being frugal.
Connie sorry about the benefit, people can be jerks
Barbszy good luck with the car
Lisa Cool being a leader
Jean How are you feeling?

Using up some stale chips in a cassarole tonight, also using leftover noodles. I've been really trying to use the food we buy and not waste.

I voted a few weeks ago, I'm glad the mud slinging is over. Way too much of it for me

not much going on here. ive been digging out my products and things to use for my avon show on the 15th. plus i have a meeting to go to tonight so ill be there. its in a town about 3o miles away, but i have to deliver to a town 20 miles in the other direction first...soooo lots of driving today. i hate doing all the driving but no one else to. jerron will pick up the girls after teenreach, and take them to the church for their practice and he will pick them up after for me if im not back in town yet. hes a pretty good kid and a big help.

whlie im in the delivery town, ill run by exh house and drop off some of his meds that were here at the house. he says hes out and he needs them, so ill take what he has here. i wouldnt run for special, but i have to be over there anyway.

plus gotta go vote, so ill need to be going. ill talk at you all later tonight.
have a good day

Wow, I can't keep up here!!

Frugal for me has been staying home. Have used less that a quarter of a tank of gas in the past two weeks. Gas prices are down a lot so that helps too. Have been eating at home and getting dvds free from the library. (and of course books too). We have gotten a lot of the yard work done that needs to be done before winter - just a bit more to do. I have cut back on our grocery bill too which is a help - just buying less and watching prices.

Roberta- Sorry to hear about your sister in SC being laid off. I'm in the Upstate of SC, and more than one new company is buildng a workplace for 500 people. So, we lose some companies and gain others. The new ICAR center is really attracting other businesses to move, like BMW did. I'm retired so it doesn't effect me but it surely helps the economy and keep this active and alive. I wouldn't want it to become a Ghost Town with me on my little plot of 5 acres by myself.
What I did frugal today - I unpacked some of the non-perishable groceries from the trunk of my car today, so have 70 cans of Campbell's Select Soup on the shelves in My Pantry in my garage that I can eat. The regular high sodium Campbells Soup will go the Food Pantry at my church.
The other frugal thing I did was to have lunch with the senior group at a local church, complete early Thanksgiving Dinner - $4.

I just got very sad and scary news. My store is closing for business Dec. 31st. I am totally shocked right now and scared since this is where we've been in business from the beginning and is 90% of my income. We will be going down to talk to the owner of another craft store this weekend we've been in there before but they aren't near as friendly as the Artisan and have higher transaction fees.

I may not be on much today or tommorow as I sort through my inventory and figure out what I need to get to the mall. Lord when I think of all that heavy furniture I have down there OMG!!

bluebird - I have a "Bills Box", a rectangular wire basket that I keep on top of my china cabinet. When the mail comes, I look through it when I take it out of the mail box. The the bills immediately go into the Bills Box. On the 31st, I write the bills, send them out on the first. There are only 3 straggler bills that have to be paid after the 31st. This has kept me from missing due dates. I also made a list in my Word Pad and printed it out, copy in the Bills Box. The bills are listed alphabetically, with amount due, due date, and balance due if applicable. Can you tell I was a secretary and Ofc. Mgr. for many years for the Army/Navy/DOD and for civilian doctors?
If a bill doesn't come in, I can see that by looking at my list of bills due each month.

Thank you... it'll be some adjusting to since they are a bit different set up. I think you only get paid once a month at that store, they charge a fee if someone uses a credit card, etc. but we'll muddle through... no one likes change.

Anna - so sorry about the store closing. Hope you find another friendly location soon. How crummy, especially this time of year.

Today went and voted - only about 4 people ahead of me.
Got $100 last week for birthday from DH's aunt, so I went to Aldi today and really stocked up more. Spent $70 and got a ton of stuff. (gotta love free food!). Put away everything and took "inventory" again on freezers. We have frig, an upright downstairs and chest in garage. Made list of everything in each, and retyped my lists to post on frig.
Got gas for 1.95 today (topped off after weekend trip). $20 for over 1/2 tank !!!!! YIPEE
Checked all food I would need for Thanksgiving, and I have everything already. Don't need to buy a thing.

Making taco salad for dinner. Had leftover kraut and pork chops for lunch.
You all take care and have a wonderful evening.
