That was a great deal on your tree trimming, $40 that's a substantial savings.

Lisa

Congrats on the new refrigerator.

Tree

That was a great deal on the strawberries!!

My farm friend just bought a wood burning stove off of Craigslist... she has a big old farm house and her heating bill in the winter is $4000.00 so they are hoping this will cut down on that bill alot. She has some sort of fuel tank in the basement that has to be filled every year. They have a friend who is coming in to put in a firewall for them.

Mish

We just heard on the news this morning our libraries "Columbus Metro Libraries" is number one in the nation they do have such nice libraries with something for everyone. I never have to buy my books, just order them online and they collect them from our other branches and bring to my branch, gotta like that!

Norma

Ick on the flying roaches.. I've seen those nasty things, Ick Ick Ick!!!

Today will be frugal.. dh is making his pot of brats/beans/???. I went to Donato's Pizza last night, I think they are only a Ohio based company.. anyways the founder was in there and everyone was in a dither, my pizza was late and I was a bit exasperated, they gave me a free pizza in addition to our pizza and sub so we ate on one and put the other in the frig. I'll have my sub today and dh had some of the pizza for his breakfast LOL! We will be going to our store here in a bit, I am taking down about 50 bottles of fragrance oils over $400 worth hope they will sell fast.

I got my order of new fragrance oil bottles day before yesterday, my supplier changed the style without telling me even though I called in the order and gave them the item numbers from my last order, I was a bit ticked about that as I now have 4 different style bottles down there GRRR!! so I finally got hold of a Ohio plastic manufacturer and ordered some bottle samples yesterday to test to make sure they hold up to the oils, some have a high citric base and will cause the bottles to shrink in, doesn't hurt but just doesn't look pretty. Anyways, I was very pleased with their terms and price can't wait to get them and not have to deal with a small unreliable supplier anymore.

Have a great day everyone and hang onto those pennies.

Anna

Good morning all!

Anna, I am so happy for your business growing so well. Happy too that you are keeping up with the orders, like having that extra "dirt" soap on hand to easily recoup your costs on that.

Sueanne, that was fast thinking about making the broth from the steak bones.

Mish, I have made his brother and sister both an afghan as a graduation gift, as they both were going away to college, so Scott will get one too. I've known his family since before he was born. He played with my nephew when Elwood was little. Elwood left him alone outside (Scott was 3 or 4), and told me that he (Elwood) refused to play with Scott anymore because he (Scott) was a baby. I explained to Elwood that when he was little the other neighborhood kids played with him, so he was to go outside and make Scott his best friend. They have been best buddies ever since then.

Well ladeis, better go for now. I have a lot of things to do around here.

Take care all!! Norma

Ellen,Cute story on how your dh got pulled over and thankfully no ticket.
Anna,Don't you love days when you know it will be frugal with a cheap meal too
Frugal for me?I stayed up late as I tried to work on some of my homework.I went to bed later and now my 3 angels are up.Today I will need to get some gas and also take the youngest to her swim lesson too.I am thinking today we will be home and maybe go off to church tonight.Dh is off at another training class and we won't see home until tonight.Hoping that we will be home for most of the day and trying to save money too.

You guys with wood stoves are so lucky they make your home so cozy.

Anna, have a safe trip to Logan.

Well, the car repairs will not be cheap & there is a chance the will repair the water pump & timing belt then the car will still not start. I don't expect that to happen, but I don't know what we will do if that does happen. For frugality, I will be making some monkey cookies with some bananas I got cheap because they were getting old. I've never tried the recipe before, but I think I'll make a double batch as we have a family get together tomorrow. I also SHOULD get around to washing a load of clothes & hanging them on the line.

Anna, a safe trip to you.

Norma, flying ****roaches! Haven't ever seen them but know they exist. One time my dd1 was at a girl's house for a b'day party and about a week after that I found regular roaches in the house ~ GROSS! It took me about a month but finally bought the Combat Roach Gel, killed those little buggers. That was a good 3 years ago and haven't seen one since, thank goodness!

I'm all stuffed up today but need to get off of here and get my butt to the grocery store. Last night I went to my cousin's for a group of us to watch Sex in the City, the movie. It was a good time but it cut down my time to shop. LOL. Have to get food to fill the fridge! And thank you everyone for the congrats.

I'm off of here for a bit. Have a good morning!

Lisa

They are cookies made with bananas in them. I got the recipe from family corner several years ago & have not tried them yet. I'll let you know if we/people like them. Here is the recipe:
2 1/4 C all purpose flour
2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 c sugar
2/3 c margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 bananas, mashed
1t vanilla

Combine flour, baking powder, salt & sugar. Mix well. Add margarine; mix well. Add remaining ingredients & mix well. Drop be teaspoonfulls on cookie sheet. Bake in oven preheated to 400 degrees about 12 min.

Good morning, ladies! I don't have much planned today, kind of looking forward to a lazy day.

DD2 had a wonderful time at the dance last night. DH and I are so happy that she has such a nice group of friends.

Ellen, my DH wasn't so lucky. He got pulled over for speeding, doing 45 in a 35 zone. He has to either pay $119 for a ticket or attend an 8-hour class for $75. I told him he has to attend the class. Not only will it save us money on the ticket, but he won't get any points against his license which means our insurance won't go up either.

I ordered firewood yesterday and it will be delivered on Monday. I guess DH and I will be spending Monday evening stacking and covering firewood. I am really looking foward to that first fire.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. For you college football fans, I hope your teams win today (unless they are playing the Huskers - lol!)

Kathy
