The mornings and evenings are cooling down here getting ready for winter in a month, so decided to sort through ds2 clothes, nothing fits!
ds1 has not grown much and ds2 has grown a lot and they are meeting in the middle with no ds1 clothes to pass down .... can't have ds2 running around in the nuddy this winter so have been out to buy 2 pair long pants that cover his ankles and 2 jumpers that the sleeves coem down to his wrists, was 25% off so the price was not so bad. Also bought dh 2 new fleecy jumpers.
ds2 is that horrible stage where kids are to small and adults clothes are to big, I hate that stage!

Jean, I should have posted, Mom was fine. She went to her brothers for a visit and left her cell phone at home. There are times I just want to say "What are you thinking?!" she has the severe heart issues, the diabetes that bottoms out but, she is an adult and I still treat her that way even though I think I want to just scold her like she did us kids! She had a nice visit and came back with a bouquet full of lilacs from his house.

Both girls seem to be back in top form so they'll definitely be going to school today. And as dd2 hasn't woke me saying she feels crappy I guess she is too.

Oooh, in yesterday's mail I got a free Schick something razor, one of the nice ones that you get the refills for. It had been ages since I got one. I think my friend in Canada sent off for it for me.

So far it's a pretty morning, about 55 F, doesn't look like we're getting that rain till tomorrow so I'll paint the urns early today, they'll be dry by tomorrow.

It's about time to wake the short people. I'll be on later, you've been warned.

Hugs,
Lisa

Lisa, I'm glad your mom is OK.

We were NOT happy when we got the bill for the car repair. The block of wood that DH ran over yesterday killed his front-end alignment, so with the tire repair and the oil change that was due anyway it was almost $300

So here is a public-service announcement from me to you: Stay far enough back from the car in front of you that you can swerve around stuff in the road!

Jeandeanette, bagels also make yummy pizzas for lunch or a quick dinner. Toast them on light to make them a little crispy, then top with sauce, cheese and whatever else you like and bake at 350 until everything is hot and melty.

Norma, we had an exterminator 2 years ago for a kitchen ant problem. He treated the house, told us to clear plants from a certain area, and also told us to caulk around the entire kitchen counter. We have not seen an ant since we followed those instructions.

Roberta, my neighbor has some ants and doesn't want to call an exterminator. She has several entry points, so I forwarded your tip to her. Thanks for posting it!

jjoj, great idea using your leftover rolls for breadcrumbs. Once the ducks stop coming here, I can get going on that again. Right now they get all our stale bread and even some that isn't stale since we just can't resist the cuteness

Lisa,Glad your mom is doing ok.
Barb,So sorry about the unexpected huge car bill.
Roberta and Norma,Thanks for the ideas on how to get to the ants.
Frugal for me?Well the drama conitnues here at our house.Today I am finding out more information from my oldest that she didn't come clean about. First off the aol account she was trying to get a messenger on that. Then on a hunch I went to myspace and put my kid in there.Turns out she was able to set up an account but this was way over a year ago. So I got her and the other kids ready for school and then found out that my middle dd can't go to work with dh as she has a field trip and I had put on the calneder the wrong date for this.So now my dh is mad at me.So for today I have a the chapter in my class to get too.On top of that I didn't get too much sleep last night with all the drama and with dh snoring away.

Good morning. I am a dragging today. I am like that a lot. If I work hard one day the next day I feel so bad and I don't want to be like that.

Bilby, its sounds strange that you are getting ready for winter when we are starting to get the warm temps here. I hope you are able to replace the clothes for your kids and find some good bargains for them.

Lisa, I am glad your kids and mom are okay.

Barb, sorry about the car bill. We had to pay almost 600.00 to have ds car fixed. I believe the garage ripped him off because they knew he was a college student who wouldn't know any better. Now he is having more car problems so he will most likely need more repairs. I will be so glad when he has a full time job and can take over paying for himself.

Mish, sorry about the way your day is getting started. I know sometimes it truely seems like its one thing after another with kids. I hope your dd will be okay and listen to you about the computer.

Dh has been off work since last Friday. He of course has spent the most of it hunting. Thats where he is gone right now. Tomorrow he is going again with a friend who is also a work buddy. He will have to go back to work on Friday. I am hoping when he gets home today we can go to Lowes and get some more potting soil and get a few things at walmart.

It looks so pretty outside with the warm sun shining and the yard being mowed. I think the cabbage plants have grown just a little. Well I will check in later. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Barb, ouch! I'll absolutely remember your little piece of advice. I generally try to keep a safe distance because down here it's dead animals in the road. They can't hurt your alignment but they can make me sick to my stomach.

Jean, as you, and everyone else, tell me, listen to your body and just chill out today, go slow. I was that way yesterday because I overdid on Monday. Yes, I admit it so there. LOL.

Mish, honey, hang tight, ups and downs, that's what makes our lives so interesting, but not always candy and roses. You're right in following up on your daughter. I keep track of my dd1's myspace page. I also monitor when dd2 & dd3 are on Club Penquin, etc. So far no sneaking stuff but it could happen, we live in a different age, a different time than when we grew up. And your dh, he'll get over it but I imagine he'll be grumbling for a bit. Men! You do an amazing job running your household as well as school for yourself. Just know that you are an exceptional woman, no matter how much goes on during the day, you are a truly phenomenal woman.

I'm going to go paint my urns now, then start my seedlings for my cherry tomato plants. I'm going to start them in egg crates for now. I just want to grow things! I also have laundry to catch upon, don't do it for a day and pow, it's a mountain.

Until later my friends,
Lisa

Sorry to hear about the unexpected car repairs, ouch!! I try to watch out for weird stuff in the road, sometimes it's hard to tell what it is until you are right up on it.

Mish

Sorry to hear your day hasn't started out too good, hopefully it'll get brighter as the day goes on.

Bilby

I'm with Lisa, it's hard to comprehend that winter is setting in somewhere in the world when we have so much green.

My frugals today? It actually started last night... I was on Craigslist and out of curiousity was looking at the Barters. Lo and Behold I came across a Castle B&B bartering they said for just about anything. Hmmm... I emailed how about soaps and candles, the answer Yes . So we will be working out a deal for a room overnight in exchange for candles, Wahoo!! I also shared with some of my soap friends who are more advanced in some areas than I am. There is enough to share. Oh the castle has a gift shop.

I like my electric and water bills this time of year, too.

I am HOME today! I have been gone eight days out of the last ten. I am tired. Yesterday I started getting the west nile headaches again. I called and moved dh's doctor appt to next thursday not monday. I need another paycheck to afford the gas to get there! I ended up taking ds into the city yesterday because he got his appt dates messed up. Then he wrote down the wrong directions to get to this place. I can see more brain damage all the time. It is so sad and there is nothing I can do. At times I really kick myself for allowing ds to have open heart surgery. So many things have gone wrong due to the surgery.

Cau, I will try the caps in the dryer. I do have dryer balls but what the heck?

Yesterday I paid $10 for three new boxes of commerical grade vinyl floor tile. $3 for a Gavellia coffee pot. The one that only makes the coffee to go? I know it is silly to have two coffee pots but dh has wanted this one for a while now. Then he can make just one travel mug and go to work.

Mish, hugs to you. I remember when oldes son was doing stuff like that. It is no fun.

My massage table cart came today!!! Yeah! Massage tables are HEAVY to carry around. I have a light one but it is still 35 pounds on your shoulder.

Good news!! I AM losing weight! Plus I have muscles in my arms again. Whoo hoo!! Great since I bought two more binkis yesterday. One is a Venus. Now I have four. Aren't a a vain selfish thing?
