The girls seem to be better, the 8 yr old is almost her old self, the 15 yr old (I think I typed 16 before, yikes) is finally up and tried to eat something. All I want to do is sleep. I did have a bad night sleeping, shoulder and back pain so maybe it's that? I don't know.
I went to the doc today. I'm doing very well, but I knew that. There was a note in my chart from the insurance co. that said employer wants patient released ASAP. He asked again what I did, I told him he said fine, you can go to work but....no use at all of the left arm, no typing, nothing. He said I'm sure you can type some but 8 hours a day, no way. He said see what they say about that. I took it to work and my boss said first he nor anyone here said such a thing and second, that would be a waste of having me there just to fill a seat. So, I'm off for minimum 4 wks. My next appt is 6 wks. Again, I'm thrilled to be home. Not so thrilling is the shorter pays but ah well. And, the late work comp check finally showed! It is safely in the bank where I'm happy to have it. And the ex husband didn't mail my last week's child support till yesterday! I'm supposed to have it by Friday each week so now it's several days past due. I'm going to the courthouse tomorrow to see about getting it deducted from his pay. I can see how it's going to be now.
Whew, rant done. I haven't done one thing around the house. Could be because I did so much yesterday? I don't know.
Frugal is making supper from home, brewed a pot of tea and that's about it.
Almost time to get dd2 from school. Hope you all have a great rest of your day!

Lisa, I'm glad the girls are feeling better. Ugh, just when it seems like the flu should be over and done with. It really does sound like you need more time to heal. Sorry to hear that you are again having difficulty with the child support check. I hope it irons itself out soon!
Wow, you have accomplished a lot today, Anna!
Chris, the mother/daughter brunch sounds lovely!
Frugal today was making meatballs for spaghetti and meatballs later this week. I had a few rolls left from the weekend, so I made those into bread crumbs. Tonight we have a meeting to attend, so dinner will be calzones from the freezer.
Also frugal is diluting the dish soap to stretch it out for another few weeks. We do have a dishwasher, but we never use it because it takes too much water. I can't wait until we get city water and are able to use it!
Better go check on the little dogs before they terrorize the countryside. lol
Take care and I hope you all are having a nice Tuesday afternoon!
Hi, everybody! I hope you are all having a terrific Tuesday!
I just got the mail and both the electric and gas bills were in there. I was nervous opening them up, but they were both a pleasant surprise - both were a lot less than last month. Next month's should be even better. The heat has been off continuously since Sunday morning!
Lisa, I'm sorry your DD's aren't feeling well today. Hopefully, it'll only be a one-day thing. I'm glad you'll be able to stay home for another 4 weeks. You should definitely get your ex's wages garnished. You shouldn't have to wait for the support check every month.
Anna, I am planning on making a purse out of some old ripped jeans. The purse I'm carrying now is falling apart, so I thought I'd try making one from stuff I already had on hand.
Mish, I hope you find some great bargains today!
Barb, sorry to hear that your DH had car trouble today. It's a good thing that it happened close to home, though.
Have a wonderful afternoon, everyone. I will talk to you all later.
Barb,So sorry that your dh had car problems on the way to work.I hope you can get his car fixed real soon.
Chris,The brunch sounds like it was alot of fun.
Lisa,I hope you can get your exs wages garnished.I am glad you have some more time off.Maybe you will be able to do some job search.
Frugal for me?Well last night my oldest was on the internet and tried to open up 2 e-mail accounts. She also changed my password but now I am finally able to get to my e-mail.My testing went ok.No deals at good will.My dog did find a rabbit and she did her job.
Oh and I was out chatting with a friend.I haven't gotten much done today.A very disappointing day here with my oldest. At least dh will be home soon.
Mish
Someone had asked about a frugal way to get rid of ants and for the life of me I can't find which forum it was in. So anyway.... in the Dollar Stretcher that I read today it talked about getting rid of ants.
"Take two tablespoons of peanut butter, add a half teaspoon of sugar, and a half teaspoon of borax from the laundry aisle. Mix with a spoon and put a dab in some milk bottle lids and placed them where the ants are. In less than two days, I did not see another ant."
Filled up the van this morning after finding a station that hadn't already jumped their price by $.20 so that saved me almost $4.
Good evening everyone! The girls and I walked up to the library earlier, they happily have 2 books each. So there's another frugal to list! LOL
Barb, I'm so sorry to hear about the car problems. That's up there on the frustration list for me!
Chris, I agree, the brunch sounds lovely!
Mish, I'm sorry you're having trouble with your oldest. I'll pray things work out without a lot of drama.
Kathy, woo ho on the bills being lower than expected! I've had the heat off since Sunday evening so looking forward to the difference in my bill.
Jamie, you always find the best uses for leftovers, I still hope to be that good about it eventually, I'm getting better though, thanks to your guidance!
Coll, that was a brainstorm using the laundry lid caps! I may try that for the next load of towels!
I guess that's about it today. Now they've changed the weather forcast and we may not be getting all the rain we thought we were. I may paint the urns outside afterall and maybe whatever I can reach on my front porch supports. On beautiful days I just hate being in the house, ya know? I have to watch what I do outside though, with the restrictions they may be watching me, but I never use my other hand.
Guess I'll finally do the dang dishes in the sink. If I'm not on later I hope you all have a peaceful evening.
Hugs,
Lisa

Not a lot frugal here. I had to have the heat on last evening, and again this morning for a couple of cycles.
I did take lunch from home, and ate both breakfast and dinner here. I had a cucumber and onion salad, baked potato, and the leftover steak from Sunday.
Lisa, you know about surveillance, so please watch yourself. You know how twisted those people can be.
I know when they were investigating my ear problem, they questioned me, my boss, everyone. I wish we had kept the tape, I would have gladly had the investigator listen to that one.
Roberta, it was me and the ants. One of the women at work had said to sprinkle cinnamon around. I tried that, and it was ok, but the cat and I were tracking cinnamon everywhere. The ants just avoided the cinnamon. I ended up getting some gel in a small "caulk gun". I only put it in one spot, and I have not seen another ant.
Well ladies, better go for now. I am really tired this evening.
Norma, Oh YES, I know all about work comp and surveillance. If I do ANYTHING outside it will definitely be one handed. I may wait and have the kids do the grunt work this weekend, lol!
I need to check on my mom, she's not answering her phone at home and the cell is off. I ran by there and the car is gone but still, it's bothering me. Gonna go do that now.
Hugs again,
Lisa

Well its almost time for bed but I wanted to say hi anyway. Hope everyone has had a good day. I spent part of the morning picking up the house and cooking and then working outside in the yard this evening. Not a lot frugal going on here. I am still using free napkins, deodorant, razor and we are eating a lot of the free bagels. Jacki, that was a good idea about the bagel sandwiches.
We cleaned out the dirt and rocks from the bottom of an old barrel that was very rotted and some of the rocks we put in the bottom of my new barrels to help with the drainage and we had enough dirt to just about fill the barrels but I will need to buy some more potting soil. I had two partial bags of potting soil that was a very bad quality dirt and we used it to fill in a big hole the dogs had dug in the yard.
Lisa, I hope the girls will be able to go to school tomorrow and I hope everything is fine with your mom.
Kathy, have any of the house hunters made you an offer yet?
Well everyone rest well and I will check in tomorrow.
