I ordered a kids meal at lunch today-it was plenty of food and inclded my drink-some restaurants actually have no age limit on the kids meals.

Staying around the house today. The body is telling me to take it easy & I'm listening. I'm being frugal by staying home

Paper had an article about how meat prices will be rising do to the increased cost of feed. Will it ever end? I'm thinking not for a while no matter who get in as Pres.

KAthy good luck on the house

Lisa you are to sweet to take on another animal. The most we have ever had was 3. @ dogs & 1 cat then the one dog died and I somehow ended up with 2 cats & 1 dog. @ od my dd are real cat people.

MsJReg, that's the smart thing to do! I know if you go thru the drive thru at McD's they don't know if it's for you or not! LOL

Thank you to all who wished well for dh, he got to feeling better not long after I posted.

He saved the day yesterday. My cell phone was low on charge so I put it on the charger but noticed it wasn't charging... I had accidently sliced my cord the other day in the kitchen drawer with a very sharp knife (can't find the dumb guard for it). Anyways dh sliced it and rewired it and put electrical tape on it, still wouldn't charge. I called Batteries Plus to see how much a new cell phone battery was $34.99. We are out of contract with Verizon and want to stay that way for awhile. Anyways, dh said go get our old cell phones and lets see if 1. The charger cord is the same and 2. If the battery is the same.

Well the charger is styled different but the battery is the same. So he had me charge the battery in the old phone and then switch batteries to the new phone, Wahoo!! It worked! He has a charger too that he keeps at work and is going to bring it home, so we'll charge both phones here but in a pinch that worked out great.

Other frugals this weekend? Hung out clothes on the line today. Organized into boxes all my leftover candles from Christmas so I know what I have and need to make now for the new season which starts the end of August/beginning of Sept. that way I'm not I hope madly making up candles during the rush season.

We did go to Logan yesterday and restocked and reorganized the shelfs once again, it looks pretty nice.

Unfrugal is we bought KFC for late lunch/early dinner yesterday, frugal was I had the leftovers for my lunch/dinner today. Dh made pizza for himself today, unfrugal is a trip to Dairy Queen for milk shakes. I tried Wendys first since they are across the street, they had about 30 soccer players in line waiting to be served so bypassed there, went to Burger King their machine was broke, so had to go to DQ which was way more expensive.. sigh!

Crochet2

Congrats on the garage sale finds.

Lislynn

Congrats on the new kitty. I was at my friends house last night she has 5 cats they are so cute!!

This morning I gave my car a "sponge bath" rather that the full job, saved water and it wasn't really muddy just dirty LOL.

I always charge my phone in the car so as not to plug into the house electricity as extra, as charging in the car when I'm driving and going places anyway uses no extra power.

Just washing in cold and drying on the line as usual, other wise it's monday morning everyone is back at work/school and I can clean up after them now.

OSI
that article is a good read and many things my ds1 does with his friends, it's good to see that they can look to manage their money and as long as friends are happy about it, so be it.

Anna, loved the article! I'm happy to see others are doing what my dd1 and I have already done for a few years, consignment shops and thrift stores. The red prom dress that I bought for $100 at the consignment store is in a special bag hanging up at my mom's house, all ready for next year. She has shoes that will go with it, and a handbag. All she'll need is her hair done and jewelry and we can look for that on clearance now!

My son bought supper tonight for all so no money spent for that. I did take bf's son home but he filled my car with gasoline so no money for gas! Not a bad day all in all.

Having a little drama though with dd1. She's ok, not flipping out but found out that her boyfriend apparently cheated on her, I mean CHEATED back before Christmas and she feels so stupid. She wants all of the facts before she confronts him but, it's her first boyfriend and they've been dating for 10 months. She knows what she has to do, for her own peace of mind but, it's difficult. I know it's trivial but a prayer for her resolve please? First boyfriends are difficult to break up with.

I'm off to take something for cramps and maybe mosey on to bed. I am so tired. All those kids and my period to boot, then drama, I'm wore out!

Hugs to you all.
Lisa

Anna, those articles were interesting to read. My ods is getting ready to be renting for the first time and he knows he is going to have to be frugal but I'm not sure he really realizes what a challenge he is going to have trying to pay for things. I hope he will be smart but we shall see.

Lisa, sorry to hear about your dd getting hurt over her bf like that. That first love (if it ends) is so hard. I still remember how bad I hurt way back when. Now I think about how stupid I was to ever have liked him in the first place. No one could have told me that at the time.

Well I need to get in bed soon so I can get up at 6. Take care everyone and sweet dreams.
