What Did You Do Frugal Today section 15

This is one of the busiest threads we have going! I know I've gotten a lot of great ideas on frugal ways from other members here.

Frugal today and yesterday is starting to gather up my supplies to make hard tack candy. I bought the used Tupperware container yesterday a long rectangle one with the lid so I can pour my candy directly into the container instead of buying a cookie sheet. I also resisted buying in candy flavorings or any ingredients till I came home and gathered what I already had... so glad I waited as tonight I got in the cabinets and found several bottles of flavorings that I didn't use last year also found a brand new bottle of corn syrup unopened so now I need to look around and see how much sugar I have stashed. So it looks like all I'll need to buy is some butter and one or two bottles of flavoring I don't have like orange and cinnamon. I hope to make these up and sell at our craft shows in pretty little candy bags ( I do have to buy those too). I've also started saving my big coffee tins to store each flavor in. They'll be mixed bags but want to keep the flavors seperated till I mix the bags.

Frugal for me today was asking the doctor for samples of the migraine meds he wants me to try. And wouldn't you know it I had a nasty one this evening. I took the meds and still had the migraine 2 hours later. I had to suffer through fixing dinner. I did feel better after I ate a little bit.
I hope the other samples he gave me work better.
I hope I don;t get another migraine for a long time.

Forgot to mention that my car needed a new tire so I went to the place I usually go to. I paid cash so got a discount. I love those guys.

Not to much frugal here. Did have to stop for milk and only purchased the milk.

Butterfly - those are good ideas but did not do many of them. I don't wear to much real wool as I am allergic to it.

A couple of weeks ago I entered a newspaper comp with a 50c stamp and won a family pass to the big Brisbane exhibition that goes for 10 days. We don't usually go as the tickets are to expensive.
Store policy says that if you take something through the checkout and it scans incorrectly it's free, so I ended up with a free pair of flanny pj's for ds2 that were half price anyway but good news all the same.

Went and bought some cheese at Aldi as I had to get milk and was going that way but don't think I'll buy their cheese again it's cheap but not nice, not worth the saving.

Boys both have camps coming up so 1 is going sunday that is paid for but ds2 camp is end of sept so have topay for that soon more $$ out, not frugal.

I can't believe we are up to thread 15 so many good ideas and bargains to get right here.

Good morning all!!

Anna, even though you have to buy a few items for your candy, aren't you glad that you waited to see what you had on hand? I hate double buying.

Coll, migraines are truly the bain of life. Hopefully yours will pass quickly and that your doctor has given you a sample of somthing that will get rid of yours.

Well ladies, I better go for now. The time for work will be coming soon.

Take care all!! Norma

Bilby, I agree, it is hard to believe that we are up to thread 15. And so many good ideas, and motivation, and to know we are not alone!

Nothing out of the ordinary frugal here. Although DS did call yesterday. And Grandma and Grandpa were in to visit him over the weekend, and they put money in his account for stamps, and a haircut. Thank god. I was not sure how I was going to pull that off!

But, he does need deodorant, paper, and envelopes. I have plenty of deodorant on hand purchased for nearly free with sales combined with coupons. And paper I purchased at Kmart during their sales. I will have to see if I have envies, that is something that I really have to watch for to go on sale.

Well, have a nice day all.

Not going to be frugal today.,We have to travel 200 miles round trip to check out the new batch of retired greyhounds. We hope to pick out our new dog. With gas at $3.25 a gallon it will cost but we have to go and see them. The dog it self will be $200. but that includes nuetering and all shots. We will make a trip next week to bring the dog home.
