Thank you all for the kind wishes for my sister and her up-coming surgery.
joesbaby - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope your day is special in every way for you.
Barb- I am with you, I also looked at all the muffin recipes and decided they all look good. I had just baked a batch of corn muffins with bacon bits and and cheese in them.
Anna, I am glad that you were able to use more than just the sleeves from a sweater.
It is just cold here and will be staying that way for a couple of days. Nothing dramatic, not even overly cold, like some of you. Right now it is grey out there too.
I am thinking that I will make a Sam's Club run today. And maybe stop at the discount book store on the way. I haven't been anywhere to shop in weeks. It has just been too nasty. Or I have been too tired. But my co-worker's back and we are getting things back on track.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Joesbaby today! May you have a wonderful year!
Norma, I hope your sister's surgery goes well.
Lee, have a great time at Josh's birthday this weekend! Can't believe he's 2!
Ellenmelon, I use vinegar in the rinse cycle instead of fabric softener. I use one of those scoops that you get in the cans of powdered drink mix...and put about 1/3 of a scoop of vinegar in the wash--a little more if I'm hanging outside. I had to experiment a little with the amount until I found the right amount, since my Big Kids were saying that their clothes smelled like potato chips (they like Salt & Vinegar chips!) LOL! I can get a gallon of vinegar for $1.09 and it lasts about 2 months.
Stopping in to wish joesbaby a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY
been a while since I have been over here..just because I haven't been doing much in the way of being frugal..just the regular stuff like always (cold water wash, line drying what I can on my porch, etc...)I only buy what I need and stick to my list..which allows me to do things I like on FC like the postcard, birthday and Christmas card swaps...I saw the other day where a young woman was having her 15th child...they said they could afford it because they are frugal..buy used stuff and save the difference....
OSI..miss chatting on here...
Take care all..

Osi~ What a blessing it is to have a close knit neighborhood. I will be praying for your friend who has a newfound tumor. What is her first name? My husband & I are now looking for a new home (after a long layoff caused us to sell our previous home). I hope that we have a neighborhood as close knit as your's. We are meeting with a builder today to look at the sub-division that he has started. We are really praying that God opens doors. Well.. off to begin my day! Hope you all have a wonderful day! I'll check in later to tell you "my frugal!"
jjoj thanks for the muffin recipe. I was able to locate a copy of the magazine. They have some other things in there that sound good too.
Well, we have had very high winds here over night and lots of trees falling down, I was expecting to see stuff all over my back yard but nothing. Our wind chill right now is like 14 degrees, I know it's colder in Montana. But hasn't been this cold here in years.
Lorimae, that's great that your dh was able to fix your dryer! I know, there were some really good recipes in that magazine. The one I have is actually my friend's, so I have been trying to write down all the ones we want to try before I return it to her.
Nothing too eventful going on here. Frugal for tonight will be having leftover pasta and meatballs. Take care everyone, and have a nice weekend!
Had DD2's birthday party today with the extended family, kind of combined with mine to save on cake LOL. DD1 made the cake from scratch out of a church cookbook that I received for Christmas. Was really good cake which tasted a bit like a brownie.
SIL cooked dinner last night and today we had the leftovers there is enough sauce for another meal so I'm going to freeze it.
I did 3 loads of cold water laundry back to back saving heat from the dryer, and ran the dishwasher with half detergant.
