Frugal today.....

Finding the clearance racks, for my pajama pants. These are so comfy, and cute, and actually can be worn NOT as pajama's too. I love them. Eeyore, and Mickey Mouse. ON SALE. LOL.

I didn't deviate from my list. Saved 10.00 at Safeway on sales. Milk 4/10.00, water 72 bottles for 7.97, banana's, 33¢ a pound.

I have the windows open this afternoon since it is in the low 70's.

Went to the grocery and spent $67.33 for $142.16 worth with a savings of 47%. I used $31.69 in coupons and $32.89 in store savings. I have enough soup for the winter I bought 10 $.40 each Chicken & Noodle soup, 12 $1.25 each Chunky Soup with a free gallon of milk, 4 $.10 each Taco mix.

Filled up the car gas was $2.85 a gallon and saved an extra $1.85 with my discount card.

Slow weekend on board.

Frugal today.

Grabbed the coupons out of the Sunday paper again, but yet to clip the last 3 weeks. Darn, I have got to do better with this.

Cleaning, and doing laundry in cold and piggy backing the dryer. Also hanging a lot. Vacuuming, and waiting for the Bronco game.

Cooking from the freezer (chicken) bought in bulk.

That's about it. Gonna try to work on my work from home during the game and tonight. I need a kick in the franny, to get my movitivation back.

Does anyone know of a good gas card that does not charge an APR or a fee to keep the card each year? We have Eddins Walcher/GasCard, but the places that use our card are few and far between since we moved to a different state. We don't have to pay anything for it except for the actual gas that we get. I have checked into places like Phillip's 66 and they charge a huge APA, PLUS they charge a annual fee just to use their card! I do not know why, because theyalready make so much money because their card holders only buy their gas!!!

We got the Eddins Walcher/GasCard card when we were living in a different state where there were plaenty of places to get their gas and it was usually the same price or lower than other gas competitors. I am so tired of driving 8 miles away just to get gas so that my DH can keep up withh the gas usage. Plus, I don't have to carry cash or a checkbook. We all know that checks cost money to buy it's cheaper to write one check each month for all the gas that our cars use than it is to write several checks. DH doesn't want to use our ATM because the gas receipts will mix with other purchases.

Does any of you other frugal people know of any ideas?

Good evenign all!!

I have been having fun this weekend. I went to Goodwill yesterday, and picked up 2 very nice sweatshirts. One is probably a $70 hoodie, and the other a named designer one with a rip in the shoulder. I am going to just put a "jeans patch" on the inside to hold it together. That will be the one that just hangs out in the back of my car for emergencies. I also got a cheese grater, and a 2-pack of water bottle tops.

Then I went to one of my favorite stores - the discount book store. I needed a birthday gift for my boss, and found one I am sure he will enjoy. Then I was looking in the history section, and found a Christmas gift for the son of friends, he is into World War II - it was a photo book, coffee table size, of all the planes, etc. He will enjoy that. A calendar for my nephew, and then a calendar for myself - a crochet pattern a day for a year. That is a gift for myself.

Off to the produce market, and lots of good fresh produce there. Then on to the mall to Hallmark. I had 3 B1G1 Shoebox coupons which expire at the end of this month. So I just found great birthday cards for well into next year. No stopping to shop anywhere else either. I even parked as close as I could to the Hallmark store, so I wouldn't be tempted to stop and window shop.

Today, was just to the local convenience store for the Philadelphia papers, and across the street to the local market for cat food (with a coupon) and a pot roast.

The only other place I went was to my girlfriend's for lunch. She wanted me to create a pattern for her for a snowman pin to crochet. That was easy - 2 circles (the bottom a little larger than the top one), sewed together and she will then embroider a face, and the black buttons onto him, glue on a pin back, and she is done. In return, and in addition to lunch and her fine company, she gave me a butterfly frige magnet she created. It is nice to have friends with whom you share a hobby.

Well ladies, got to go - it is almost dinner time, and I need to finish the sweet potatoes, and the corn for the meal.

Take care all!! Norma

Sorry Can You Guess, I am not able to help as we do not have a separate card for gas. We just use the ATM card and note it in the checkbook. You could do this and keep a notebook in the car of your gas purchases, gas mileage etc.

We went to a craft fair/festival today. I did not buy anything but a .50 cent bracelet for DD. We did look around a lot and the kids received some freebie candy, toys and made a bookmark. One bank was even giving everyone one of the new nickles.

I'm currently using my Discover card for gas purchases for the extra 5% cash back bonuses and Discover groups the difference retail stores together so all your gas station purchases are in a group together. When they stop the extra bonus I"ll go back to loading my Kroger gift card in the store with money for the gas pump using my Discover card but then school will receive a 4% bonus on my gift card.

Had lunch with the inlaws after church Sunday. Stopped at the video store and rented on of the Star Trek Next Generation movies that we hadn't seen yet for $1 and picked up two kids movies for free. Did two load of cold water wash with half detergent and vinegar in the rinse water.

I have two meetings this morning one for school at Elder Beerman for their Care to Share program as I'm the co-ordinator for that fundraiser. And a district staff meeting with our Manager so with taking the kids to school and picking up DD2 my morning will be shot.

Yesterday we went down to our metroparks where the historical society had a settlers day! We saw a cabin from the 1800's plus a couple of houses. Watched them making rugs and so on. The only unfrugal was buying the boys a "bomb pop" at a 1.00 a shot, they were good and the rest was free! Cant wait till the leaves start changing its so beautiful down there!

This afternoon will be doing my grocery shopping for the week, since I didnt get to it yesterday! I signed the kids up for story time at the library so will be going to that tonight. Their supposed to wear their pajamas, its so cute seeing 20 little ones in their jammies all snuggling up with their moms or dads!

Roberta, glad to hear you got healthy start, must be because I live in Cuyahoga county but am still waiting for that grrrrr.

We got gas yesterday for 2.53, we also just use the debit and note the checkbook. Using the discover card isnt a bad idea either! Years ago we had a BP card I dont think we were charged monthly interest, but once the debit cards became more common we just stopped using it!
