Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a good weekend.
I have been working my poor fingers to the bone these past 2 weeks on my work from home stuff. I am normally the queen of procrastination, but I have really got to get in the habit of busting it, and making full paychecks. Got to get in gear for after we move, and having to be back out in the real world on a job. I've always worked hard in the workplace in the past, but have gotten lazy these almost 6 years at home. Will for sure have a full paycheck. $5.15 an hour, @ 80 hours. Not a fortune by any means, but since I don't pay daycare, it is pretty much free money. Now, just have to get motivated to save more of it. (grin)
Received 2 DVD's today, that I didn't order (grrr) and thought I'd declined from my dvd club. Now I need to see if I can sell them on ebay for close to what I'm being billed, since I don't want to pay for return shipping. ARGH. I should cancel that, but sometimes I can get Disney dvd's for 9.00 on sale. Stupid hobbies.
Got a $75.00 gift certificate for Cabela's from my work at our Christmas party last night. It's too bad I'm not a hunter or fisherman. I will find something to use it on, I'm sure, but cash would have been better. I'm looking at a set of stockpots, and some candles though.
Gosh, this is practically a novel. Trying to keep lights off, and use leftovers and such. Heat down to where it's kinda chilly. It's kind of a mission to see how low we can keep it. See you all later! Becky

Becka and Ericka, hang in there girls with the heat, or the lack thereof. It is supposed to keep going up all winter. Anything we can do to help keep it down is a plus.
I am going to try to snag an extra $10 off $10 JCPenney coupon from my sister, and go spend $20 on hopefully, myself.
I got those coupons too, but the nearest JCPenney's is 115 miles away.
So I've decided it would be unfrugal to drive that far. LOL!
More work from home today. I already have my 80 hours. This can count for next pay. Whoohoo!
Also found out from work, I didn't get or spend a paycheck from AUG, to the tune of 67 dollars, so I think they are going to reissue it. August was an INSANE month, so I guess that would be why I didn't cash it. Isn't that nice. Bonus money at a good time of the year. Whoohoo!

Today Lea and I did several things to start. We made chocolate mint bark, peppermint bark, sugared walnuts and splenda'd walnuts for me since I'm low carb. We're gonna start on the cookies too. We are making egg nog cookies and shortbread dough to freeze into logs for Xmas eve. I have to make sugar cookies, molasses, ginger, and spice cookies and banana nut bread. We'll do that probably next weekend. I'm gonna go to the speciality shop and buy some copper cookie cutters that I can use every year. Xmas eve we're gonna be baking and decorating and putting it out for Santa, though Lea is now 9 and no longer believes in Santa. We're also gonna throw some oatmeal out for the reindeer. Xmas is coming too fast though, it really is. I'm not yet ready. Oh well, gotta get ready.
Hello, everyone! I got my $10 coupon for JCPenney yesterday also. Can't wait to use it!
On a not-so-frugal note: it seems my appliances and mechanicals in my house are trying to give out faster than I can fix or replace them. Today it appears to be the hot water heater. I have no hot water! So my guess is the hot water heater is a goner. If anyone else has any ideas of something it could be other than that causing my no-hot-water problem, I'm all ears! I can't get over the problems in my house as of late: had to have the washer fixed twice, the furnace fixed once (and it is definitely on its way out), the pump on the well is sounding like it is on its last leg, now the hot water heater! I just keep telling myself things will work out. Somehow or another they always do!
Chris it has been like that here latly also we had to rreplace the regrulator on our gas line then a gas heating stove then the dryer im afraid to guess what may be next
Karen, I made a batch of the hard candy in cinnamon flavor. Wow my eyes are still burning. But the house smells good I made it in red, I'm going to make creme de minte in green. Now I need to go get new flavors, it's so easy it's addicting! I want to get butter rum, it sounds good. Back to the stove.
I got myself a nice outfit for my $10 off $10, plus a few dollars of my own money, at JCPenney. I called my aunt to see if she wanted to go (at 84 she is a little less game than before), and off we went. She also wanted to go to the Hickory Farms kiosk. They have the very best hot sweet mustard. So I got one, or two, or three for next year.
Then we stopped at one of my girlfriend's houses to drop off a Christmas card and an Amaryllis plant with instructions to "OPEN NOW". The first year I started giving her this plant at Christmas, she waited almost a month to pot it, then it was tall, bent, and ready to die. So now I enclosed specific instructions.
I like the mustard on grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. It truly makes that sandwich great.
I was so proud of my nephew last night. He was invited to dinner at the home of the little boy he knows who has cancer. When he hadn't checked in with me by 9:30, I called. He was just about home with the kid in tow, and told me the kid had to spend the night. So he called when he got home to say that the family had no oil, therefore no heat. I was ready to send my electric heater from my bathroom, and have him come raid the garage for the 2 out of there, but he told me the mother had to go to work, no one else would have been home. So he just took it upon himself to bring the kid home for the night. I was so touched.
Well ladies, I think that I want to start baking. I haven't done any, and there is tons that needs to be done. It will keep the house warm too.
