If you have a store that has those little chips for 25 or 30 cents, get a few of those. I did the cereal and milk then too. Fruit is always good. Nuts too, unsalted. You just want something that won't make them thirsty because that will make them want to drink something which will make them want to used the bathroom. Or something that will have too much sugar which will make them hyper which will make them bored or annoy eachother and therefore annoy you too badly-LOL!

Granola bars are great for on the go breakfasts. I take rRice krispie treats too but they are full of sugar! Single servings containers of canned fruit too.

I will be praying for you!

Joesbaby - good luck tomorrow!

Anna - hope you meet your goal tomorrow! House hunting can be stressful at times, finding that right location, the right price, etc. But it can also be such fun! I don't see how people can afford $1400.

Leasmom - glad that you are enjoying being home. You seem to be finding the good bargains again.

futureteacher - that was great that you were able to get the AC fixed and it was lower than expected.

Lee - still praying that DH will get that job or a similiar one very soon. Our old dishwasher was like yours a hit and miss one that you had to practically wash the dishes prior to putting them in.

Not much new here. Been brewing tea for iced tea (we drink 3 gallons a day) I have it down to bringing 3 tea bags (regular, decaf, green tea) with a shake of baking soda which opens the leaves and gives you a stronger flavor to a boil in about 3 cups of water let cool then add to water for a gallon. I add 1/3 cup of sugar for a gallon.

Hand rolling cigs for DH works out to about $10 a carton with the coupons from Bugler.

Hanging up bath towels to use at the pool instead of getting a fresh towel.

Cold water wash with 1/2 detergent and vinegar in the rinse. Using 1/2 detergent in the dishwasher.

I finally washed the accumulated empty pop & water bottles and refilled them with water which will help me drink more water.

It is a nice 66 degrees with a slight drizzle this morning so I'm taking my shovel out and slice off the weeds growing in the sidewalks. When it drys out I'll pour vinegar in the cracks to discourage them from coming back.

I plan on inventorying the deep freezer and refrigerator freezer so I know what all is in there. Deep freezer needs defrosted so I'll do that while I'm in it have been waiting for a little cooler weather.

Going to the library later to check out more books and videos and let the kids do another activity in the summer reading program.

We don't need much at the grocery and there aren't many great sales so this week should be another low grocery bill week. YEAH

Still no news about DH and getting a job, GRRR

Roberta

Hi All! I'm sooo glad to be back--I went to the dr. a few weeks ago, they sent me to the lab @ the hospital, and the dr's there refused to let me go lol!! Turns out I'm anemic with low blood volume--it was so low they were concerned my heart would stop. Nice to know, huh? But I'm on iron pills now and once the anemia is taken care of, I get to start working on the blood volume(they think, at this point, it's because of heavy periods due to double ovulation.) Such fun! And to top it off, the dr. put me on an antidepressant. It's been a week, and I can already tell a difference, though I'm not sure if it's that or the iron pills starting to work so I'm not so tired all the time. I don't care--it's been months since I've felt this good lol!!

Anyways--my thoughts and prayers are with all of you that are having such trying times right now.

Frugal things: I won $100 gift certificate from our local grocery store--couldn't have come at a better time. Made a huge batch of hm laundry soap and tried my hand at using the slivers of bath soap to make liquid soap. Seems to be working, so far. If I like the way it works, I'll just start grating extra and make my own all the time. I was able to turn off the ac for the past few days since it's been cooler and breezy--though I'm cautious about opening all the windows. Our street is under major construction and the dust is horrific!! I've been dusting and vaccuuming daily just trying to keep up!

I started putting money away for Christmas. My goal is to save enough so that we can pay for all Christmas purchases in cash (if I order online I will transfer that cash into the checking account to cover the charge).
Last night just with coupons I saved about $20 at the supermarket (that doesn't count the store sales). So I transferred $20 today, into a savings account that we use to save ahead for a major purchase. I'll be putting all my "coupon" savings into that account from now until the end of the year.

Except for a couple of items (including binders) my kids' school supply purchases are complete! I have taken advantage of the sales at Shop Rite, Walmart and Staples for all the basics. If the school would send home the 4th grade list I could get it all done. Big DS won't have anything different on his list than he has had the past couple of years, so all he needs is 2 binders. I want him to be more organized this year, and since his classes each day are in the same order, he will have a Morning binder and an Afternoon binder. Shop Rite had a sale on binders that I wanted to get them, but there were none last night, so DD went to the courtesy desk with the ad and got me a rain check!

I also got a pack of 10-cent crayons, a few pencils, a folder and a plastic "supply box" for Luke. Spent under $2....I will fill the folder with "recycled" paper and stickers (freebies) and when the Big Kids do homework he can have his supply box out and sit at the table with them. I did the same for DD when she was little and it was money well spent--she was busy so I could help Big DS with his work.

Hi again!

Qwest was having problems with their internet service for over 3 days. I was lost without my computer *sigh*, I have been really busy packing. My father is getting a big promotion, and that's why we are all moving. Me, because I have no where else to go yet, as I haven't saved enough for my own house. It's a big city *yay* (200,000) and I always wanted a city life. Compared to 4,000...that's a big difference.

We've started stripping nasty wallpaper, (that I wanted to do since the day we moved in) and other things to get ready for a realtor. This is a larger than the norm house in this area, and it may be a bit difficult to sell. Let's hope not....

gotta go get some stuff done. DD is driving me crazy, but I guess that's par for the course, in all this chaos...
