!

I use my pampered chef pizza stone to make hm french fries more than anything! Also make cookies on it.

Karen,
Herbie was cheesy but Evan loved it. Josh even seemed to like it. A lot of pointing with baby talk! He was wide awake till almost the end. He finaly fell asleep in the stroller and Evan crawled in the back of the van to as he says "rest" fell asleep in 2 minutes! Maybe because it was late but dh and I laughed at Kicking and Screaming! It was pretty funny!

Frugal for today making more baby wipes, eating at home. If it cools down we probaly will take the kids to the park!

I would love to hit some garage sales, but I dont need anything...

Well, frugal today, is staying home, and cleaning. Deep cleaning. Ick.

I also got back a loan I had given my mother, for 1,000. Which is going straight back in the bank. LOL.

Other than that, is realizing I only have 4 1/2 months to shop for dd's birthday and 5 1/2 for Christmas, so I'd better get busy.

I missed so much.... been busy.

My favorite gadget? I have a stainless steel noodle maker that is great. I have so many and I think I enjoy them all. Today I bought a full size food processer for $3. I have been wanting one. Mine is a mini that is about 15 years old. The town next to us had town wide yard sales. I got a stack of baby material for $1, it has diapers started but not finished. A tote full of legos for $7. Car heaters, 2 for $1. A prayer journal for $1.50. Books, a tie dye kit, nerf game, .... little things. I really would like to have, borders on need 'new' living room furniture.

Oh we did have good news yesterday. Nothing is in stone yet but.... looks like we will make a good profit from the Explorer being totaled. We already have one check that will pay off the loan and will be getting another check for the full blue book price less our deductable. Two accidents. That will help in buying another car or truck. Looks like we can afford another small SUV and a pickup. Plus if we can sell the old one.... there will be more money.

I wish you could hear the kids... sorting thru the 'new' legos... What a snowshoe? Find the mate... .Look at this!...... I can have a soccer team. ... Where are the sharks? .... So many pieces how will we ever sort them all?
Makes my day.

Hi all,

BoggsZ, You can make all kinds of stuff on them, I use to make some chicken ring that you used cresent roll dough laid out in a circle on the stone(traingles of dough touching a little ) then you put a mixture of chicken mustard mayo and other stuff I can't remember on the circle of dough and folded up around to the top. then baked. it was good maybe some one has the recipe , it was a pampered chef recipe. I also made other stuff in that same ring. Stromboli stuff worked well in it.
I got a lot, or had a lot of gadgets. Got rid of the bread machine cause I think for me it is easier to just mix it up and let rise by hand like I been doing for years. a bowl is easier to wash than that bread machine I had! Have a deep fryer that I did use a lot for fries and wings but alas healthy eating has pretty much took care of that apliance. A vaccuum seal a meal that I don't use for no apparant reason. Curly frie maker that went at the last garage sale. Juicer is going this sale.LOL I use my small and large food chopper and my food processer that slices potatoes etc., would never give them up. Grill knock off like george forman but I can't remember what type it is but it works well when in a hurry for almost any meat...won't use it for veggies as it was a pain to get them off without scratching the no stick surface. Jar opening thingy as my hands don't work as well as they use to. Love my knife sharpener. Would not give up the crockpots and the big roaster. Also even though I don't use them much I have warming trays that I have gotten over the years from sales and the goodwill. I love them for parties to keep everything warm. Last time I used them was for Easter brunch for all the family.
Toaster oven is my all time favorite. Use it for garlic toast, Cheesy bread, mini pizza, fish sticks, other snacks I want to brown or small cassaroles, precooked meat, reheating. Also the microwave has to stay. Don't use the potato peeler but dh does!Oh I have an old donut cutter and noddle cutter from my mom that I love. Lost the donut hole part but makes a great cookie cutter .

Good evening all!!

I did really well at the different yard sales we hit. As predicted, my friend had cut out the different yard sales from the newspaper, taped them in the order she wanted, had gone to mapquest and printed out some spot maps so we would know where we were going, had planned where we were having lunch, the whole nine yards.

I ended up with a pair of heavy duty kitchen scissors, a wine carafe, a veggie cutter similar to the crinkle cutter I got from pampered chef, and a "tomato slicer". The veggie cutter has been used to death, but appears to have a great blade on it. If not, I have a knife sharpener that will take care of that. It says "stainless steel" on it and the handle is cast iron which was painted. Good quality. The "tomato slicer" has the original cardboard still on it. All of these were $.50 each. Then I got a bag of yarn, some really chunky, and some regular that I can use to make hats for the kids at school, for $2.00. Along with that the woman had a section of "free" stuff - so I picked up large bowl and pitcher for my sister's dry sink in her foyer. She will get the wine carafe also as she collects them.

That was it for the yard sale stuff. I think I got a heat headache from being out in that 95 degree weather.

That was also it for the frugalness. I bought my lunch, and got a good deal where we went. But we also stopped at a book store, and I bought 3 magazines, and then we stopped at AC Moore, and I bought some yarn. The yarn will make at 4 baby afghans. Just like my signature Raggedy Ann and Andy crocheted dolls, I make a baby ripple afghan that I think is the most beautiful. I use white, yellow, aqua, green, blue, lavendar, pink, and peach. This sells better than boy colors, or girl colors by themselves. It is very rich. But, I do custom orders too, no matter what my preference is.

Then onthe way back home, I stopped at the very best rib joint in the world, and bought a slab to go. For years it was just a roadside stand, with several grills and you bought the food right off the grill. It is hot, and dusty, and got car emissions mixed right in. They were still the best ribs.

I have chased these rib makers all around the immediate area of this state. At first they were a little out of the way, and I used to go several times during the summer. Even though I make great ribs, these guys make them better. Then they closed up and just disappeared for 2 summers. Then one day, I was on my way to my girlfriend's house, and spotted a sign for them. This spot is over 40 miles from where they were originally. But, since I don't go to my friend's house that often (perhaps 2 times during the summer season), I don't get the ribs that often. They still cook everything outside, but the grills are set up further back from

My nephew who is growing up and wants his freedom badly, got a cell phone from his father yesterday. His parents work on the weekends, and I am in charge. So the deal was that when I got back, I would check in with him. Usually, he has to check in with me. When I did, and told him what dinner was - he was here in a flash. These ribs were the first ribs he ever ate. He just wasn't interested. But we had gone to pick some up one afternoon, and he was hungry. So I was planning to stop at a fast food place and get him a burger on the way home. He asked if he could just try the ribs, and of course I was delighted when he ate them. He has been a big rib fan ever since then.

I think that overall, it was a pretty balanced day. I just wish I could get rid of this headache.

Well ladies, better go for now.

Take care all!! Norma

Howdy all! The last couple of days have been busy. Friday DH and I worked out of the house, so we didn't use gas to get to and from downtown. Dinner was grilled bratwursts and pork ribs, bought on sale, and Ranch Style Beans. Some folks call those "chili beans" in other parts of the country. Today we went to the birthday party of a friend of my oldest DS who moved 25 miles away last year. They rented a big inflatable water slide and the party had a pirate theme. They had tons of food and we had a good time. We were still full after we got home, so we snacked on stuff rather than making dinner and heating up the house.

I am organizing coupons to go coupon-sale-shopping tomorrow. I have $5-off coupon for a bag of Purina Fit N' Trim dog food, which just went on clearance at the Kroger by my house because they're not carrying it anymore. The regular price is $15 for the 18-lb. bag, and the bag is on clearance for 7.99, so I'll get 18 lbs. of dog food for 2.99. Plus I will need to re-color my hair in about a week, and with the sale and my $2-off coupon, I'll get my hair color for $3. I'm going early in the morning before everybody gets up, and I'm only getting stuff that I must have that I also happen to have a coupon for. Big savings on stuff you need anyway is always frugal.

Our electric bill doubled (!) in one month, so I have gotten strict about the thermostat. We were keeping it at 78 during the day and lowering it to 75 at night because my husband likes to sleep in the cool. Now I have the thermostat at 80 at night and have electric fans on overnight in the bedrooms. The last two nights it's been fine- we've been rather comfortable.

And in other news, one of my cats gave birth to 5, count 'em f-i-v-e, kittens on Thursday morning. They are very cute and she seems to be doing a really good job mothering them so far. She's just over a year old herself and was a feral kitten I rescued from my backyard last August. We didn't want her to get pregnant, but she got out one night and we couldn't find her for several days. She's a rather small cat and the vet could have done a "kitty abortion" and spayed her at the same time, but he was concerned that she was so small that taking the kittens might actually harm her. I made him promise to take any kittens I couldn't give away, and he said if I couldn't find homes for them all that he knew he would. They're all very cute so far. I'll see if I can take a photo on my camera phone and post it.

Have a great evening!

mom2-4...do you have any idea how much chemical to use for a little 8'x27" pool? i dont think i do it right and im looking for any help on amounts. thank you in advance.

frugal today..not a thing. my bil came and put in moms new pump for her well house. since we both use the same well, its a big help to me too. she paid for the pump, it was 220, the parts today were 95 and bobby did the work free. i fed him dinner and fed my sil too as she came along. but now we have a huge pump and all and it runs well and works great. so mom will be happy when she comes home.

a friend of my son jerron ( i call him bubba ) his mom works at a care center for the elderly. they are looking for some help, and i am looking for a job. shes going to try to help me get hired there. it dont pay much, only 6.50 an hour...but that is 6.50 more than i was making. keep your fingers crossed for me..

well all i guess ill have to go for now and try to get things together. you all have a nice weekend....bye
