Boggsz, I am so happy for you, Gramma ! Oh, how time flies by with the wee little ones, though. Do they live nearby?
Congratulations to you !!!!!
Bluebird, you are welcome for the sites. Hope you find some nice labels you like.
I am making stuffing from scratch. Wish me luck. Been a million years since I made any. I got a loaf of cheap bread, dried it and using it instead of paying 99 cents for a tiny 7 ounce pkg. of bread cubes. This was only 69 centst this way. Hope I didn't put in to much seasoning !
Only one loaf? We use at least 2-3, we stuff inside the bird and then extra we put in loaf pans and bake for later. Another shortcut.... toast the bread instead of waiting for it to go stale. You can also use homemade bread, heels off bread, etc.

I’d Like To Help You Out.. Which Way Did You Come In?
That's wonderful- Guess your Xmas list has gotten longer!!!
Well, I'm doing most of the prep work today. I am making the pies today, the dressing, the green beans, and just made the cranberry sauce. Tomorrow I'm making the mac-n-cheese for dd-(sorry but this is boxed), and the broccoli and cheese for me, and the turkey, and ham. I am doing nearly mostly low carb for me.
I cleaned out my free deep freezer last night. It was EXTREMELY DIRTY but I did it, me and bleach. So besides buying a plug and cord for it, I'm done and now I can put my leftovers up in the freezer, if need be. I do need to run up to the dollar store for a few more items but I have to wait until dd's therapist comes. She won't leave until about 6-UGH, but I will get all of this stuff done. I will.

Well, there is only 5 of us, and Gabie can't eat food yet.
I used one loaf plus on bag of dried bread cubes from the store. I can't taste a thing today with this sinus infection. Everything tastes bitter. I can't even smell the bleach that I disinfected the sink and counters with. I hope this stuffing is edible !!!!!
1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell*
3 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 350° F.
COMBINE eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla extract in medium bowl with a wire whisk. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle chunks over bottom of crust. Pour pecan mixture into pie shell.
BAKE for 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted 2 inches from center comes out with little bits of filling attached. If browning too quickly, cover with foil. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours; refrigerate until serving time.
Well, today I made: stuffing (reg. & oyster for dh); sweet potato casserole; wild rice casserole; pumpkin pie. Defrosted the apple pie and both turkeys. Have my roaster oven out and ready to go.
Tomorrow: green beans, bread, turkey, relish trays and horsdoerves. Also drink mix--sound kinda good: rasp. drink mix, cranberry juice, tonic water, vodka and a frozen cranberry to make it look festive.
Also--played games with ds2, took him to the park for awhile, took the dog for a walk, did laundry, etc.etc.
Got a couple good deals at the store today: french vanilla cool whip for .69, sausages for $2.50. Also found peppermint mocha coffee mate for after dinner coffees! What a treat!
I'm pooped! Think I'll read the paper and relax. Lion King 1-1/2 is on tv so ds2 is occupied.
i made my dad peanut butter fudge for his birthday last night. so that was a cheap way to get him a good gift.
easy recipe too...
1 12oz bag choc chips ( from my freezer, got on sale for .19)
1 12 oz jar peanut butter ( but i used a bit more i scraped it out of an 18 oz jar) got that for .35 cents
1 can sweetend condenced milk. .25
pour chips and penut butter in to microwave safe bowl. melt for 3 minutes. stir up good. add sweetend condenced milk. it will get a bit harder to mix. pour into buttered 8x8 pan. i used a 9x13 to make it a thinner block. my dad loved it. total cost....79 cents for about 2 1/2 lbs of fudge for my dad. i printed him out a card, and gave it to him. he said it was a wonderful gift. and i dont feel guilty for being broke.
have a good day everyone and happy thanksgiving.
