Lee, do you hang the paper rings from the tree?
When my oldest was in Pre-K his teacher had them make a paper chain with enough links to rip off one each day until Christmas. It was lots of fun. I still make them now, and on the inside of each link there is something to do on that day. Sometimes it's "watch a Christmas video" or "drive around and see the houses decorated for Christmas" or "help put stamps on Christmas cards." Just a little activity for each day.
I was getting that list ready to make this, and now I find out that DH will be going to California for 4 days in mid-December so I might have to rearrange some of those activities!
Barb,
I have never done them before! Sounds like a good tradition to start though! I need to get them all done by the first and we can have the 25 days of christmas! In that case I wont put them on the tree, maybe on the frame of one of the doorways so we can pick one a day off!
Wow a business trip in mid December, what an inconvience for you!

Wow! I'm surprised I'm the first one to ask this but can I please have the recipe for Pecan Chocolate Chunk Pie? I mentioned it to the girls in my office and we would love to try it.

Congrats Boggz!! A new little one is always something to be thankful for!!
Beckri--I hope everything works out for you--I don't have coverage either, and dh makes too much for the kids to be covered by the state. I'm just very thankful nothing serious has happened to any of us!!
Today is housecleaning day--'cuz tomorrow I'm not doing anything but cooking dinner!! We're not having anyone over, but I would like the place clean so I can enjoy the day, as well lol!!

LInda Lou, Thanks for the sites! I will be checking them out.
Mom2-4, I can email the outhouse plans to you.......
Frugal today is staying home and cleaning and cooking. I have a list made so everyone is doing something. Dad is cooking the turkey. He is sooo sad today. I can't join him on his sadness. He doesn't know how blessed we were by God stepping in and taking mom home. She would have been hospialized for a very long time, if not life. Knowing what I do now, I would have pushed for life.
I am even using the good china! I am doing everything I can to make this a wonderful holiday.

Congrats on being a gramma.. sorry I didn't say it sooner, just a bit tired today and not looking forward to going home and cleaning house as mil is coming tommorow for dinner. As she's gotten older she is nosier looking in drawers and things she would never have thought of doing years ago.

Mom2-4....that story scares the daylights out of me. My dh has been working at night now 4 nights a week and every little noise wakes me up in a panic. We live right on a pretty busy country road with a whole gang of bikers just a 1/2 away. I haven't had anyone come to the door at night in a long time but....luckily my parents live up the drive way and since I sleep with the telephone, flashlight and baseball bat I imagine I'll be ok but still....
I want to wish everyone a very blessed Thanksgiving. I pray that each of you enjoy saftey and good food and loving visits with family and friends.
Frugal today for me was saving $15 by making my own shrimp platter for appetizers for tomorrow rather than getting it made up at the deli!Once again Congrats on the new baby!!!
