Those are really cute! You are definitely on a creative streak now.

The potholders you sent have not only inspired me to crochet more for myself, christmas gifts for family and the mall but now I've spun off into making purses with them as well. I found this new yarn called Soft and Fluffy, something like that... it looks and feels like lambs wool, a little difficult to work with as it's difficult to see the holes. Anyways, it was about $3.00 a skein, the skeins are a little smaller than normal size. I bought one in off white, crocheted it yesterday vertical pattern, slip stitched up two sides leaving a flap to turn down for the top, crocheted a strap and will embelish with these pink poodles I bought brand new still in their pkgs. this summer at a thrift store. Oh on the thrift store, they were around $7.00 for all those patches plus some other stuff. I have around 20 or so, 15 poodles and some other patches with sequins and pearl drops. It has turned out pretty good so far. Oh and I used a shiny gold coat button as the snap. I will try to take a picture tonight to show you how it turns out.
The total out of pocket on this new purse is less than $3.50. These will go to the mall for Christmas and will sell for $20.00, I hope.
I also have some white poodles so will make a black purse with this same yarn with a white poodle and see if I can find a black and white coat button.
Well off to do some work.

Paintingnut: You and I are definitely in the same area. Have you heard that now a 6th hunter has passed away? Such a horrific tragedy. I am just sick that my ds1 will always have to live with this memory as a young hunter, throughout his hunting life. He will never know hunting any other way.
On a much lighter note: Plan to cook as many things ahead tomorrow as possible. Turkey is in the fridge thawing. Have apple pies in the freezer already--as well as buns from the day old bread store. Also plan to make a rye bread in the machine with a mix I got out of the clearance bin at the grocery.
Have been making mittens out of old sweaters as Christmas gifts--they'll be good for "in between" times like now--late Fall. Also using the rest of the sweater for matching gaiters. I have a friend who uses her old tube tops (remember those?)as gaiters--and I can't stand the thought! She's definitely getting a gaiter with her mittens.
Will need to make DS1's mitts and gaiter today while he's at his last day of school for awhile.
Need to get going cleaning and pick up a few extra items at the store--
paintingnut, Those are so cute. I didn't make a single present this year. I don't know why I just didnt get around to I guess. But I am planning for next year. I know what I want to make for the people I can make for.
We went to see if they had done anything to the house last night. DD screamed when she saw her closet. All of them are done. We get the doors put up today. There is really not much left to do. We also get paint and the cabinets this week. I hope. We shall see.
Going to take the turkey out and put it in the fridge today and make cookies. Today is the last day of school for the kids and DH. Until Moday.
WE have been staying home the last couple of days since the oldest has been fighting a temp of 103.5 but finally today it is hanging around 100. She missing school yesterday and today but now is off until Monday. I went yesterday when I was working at the school's book fair and picked up a math assignment and the book she needs to read for her book report so she can turn them in Monday.
Today I picked up 2 names off the Salvation Army Angel Tree and shopped at Sears since I couldn't get to Meijer in the next town to use my $10 coupon. I bought 2 pants, 2 shirts, 2 jacket/heavy overshirts, slippers, and a race track for the 2 yr old boy. For the 12 yr old girl I got a pair of cream jeans, zippered sweater, 2 long sleeve t-shirts that both go with the sweater, slippers. Still need to pick up some "toys" for her, not sure what to get her tag just said she likes sports. I'll put in some books and candy in each box that I picked up on sale. I spent $100.23 so far a little over my normal budget but I was able to get a lot more than we normally pick up I saved $10.89 using Sears coupons and saved $65.38 with their sales today.
I finally used up a gift card that we received for Christmas last year from my inlaws so I only paid $6.10 out of pocket. Every time I've shopped at Sears this past year the extra coupon sales required the bill be put on a credit card so I had this last gift card to use up.
I made a typo earlier... they are crocheted dish rags not pot holders.
I was crocheting the rags and thought... if I make this just a little longer and fold it over in 1/3 size it becomes a purse. That is how the idea was born. People here at work are already trying to buy it and it's not even all together yet, lol. This one isn't for sale... it's the proto type to take to the mall.
