Gosh everyone is busy. Norma you wear me out just reading what you have done.
Ldyroper nice to see you back.
Patrice I agree with everyone else. Stay where you are happy.
Nothing new here. Same old frugalness. Decided not to put Christmas decorations until the new house is done. That was really hard for me to do. So I am waiting.
That sounds great. Our goodwill used to have all clothes on clearance each week (different color) for 50 cents when I think of all the sweaters they had, sigh... wish they'd switch back.

Hi all, Just thought Id let you all know that there is a link www.projectlinus.org that gives all kinds of instructions on making mittens, sweaters, blankets, and the Very popular fringed fleece blankets . My dd is making 8 of the fleece ones for Xmas gifts for friends and one to donate to project linus. They are easy, and make great gifts. Walmart has alot of fleece in alot of varieties at a good price.Im making a few for hard to buy for people also. Everyone likes a nice "blankie" to cuddle up with on a cold night or just to throw on your lap while watching tv.
The poncho idea sounds like a good one, I have lots of old sweaters just waiting to be cleaned out of my closet and Im too lazy to do it!!

It's one I get through subscription, it's a freebie that was listed on here earlier this year. If I can remember when I get home, I'll mail the page to you.
P.S. Ya know, I just did a search and maybe it's called Organic Style? I get so many different ones.

I made my paper chains over the weekend, decided only to write on 14 of them. To hard to come up with 25!
Dh got the dishwasher working again, which is wonderful even though I wear rubber gloves, my hands get dry. Plus I am sick of doing the dishes 6x a day. We will see if this really changes the water bill. The bill has already gone up since ds is potty trained. Still going several times a day and flushes every one of them. Sometimes twice...Trying to stop that!
Unfrugal, dryer is not working, therer is heat but its not spinning.Dh says it probaly is a belt I hope its something we can fix ourselves, however I am only giving dh a few days to figure it out or I will call someone. This is not the time of year to be dryerless!
I dont think I get the organic living anymore, which is fine because imo it seems to be a mag for rich organic people....My vegetarian child I watch had organic spagettios today 1.99 a can, yikes thats expensive, I say make your own meatless spagetti...

I had gotten a super cheap ($4 a year) subscription to Budget Living. But I didn't think that much in there related to people really trying to live on a budget. Last issue for example had a whole feature on $30 covers for MP3 players
I won't renew that one, or even get it if they offer it to me free! Not worth it.
Tomorrow is the last day I can use my coupon for a free Chick Fil A--and I'll be at the dentist at lunchtime. Maybe I will give it to DH and he can take Luke.
Well, back to rearranging furniture and nagging schoolchildren to finish their homework! I enjoy arranging furniture but as for the rest of it
Lee, I hope the dryer repair turns out to be a simple fix!
I'm with you on that one, it's just too glitzy although I do enjoy some of the makeovers they do with homes but not enough to renew it.
Oh and here's a tip one of my friends gave me... I've failed frugal living, sigh.
I needed gold buttons for these new purses I'm making. I had one in my button jar but needed more. I went to Joann's looking for them and gasp!!! 2 gold buttons were $3.50! I found some cheaper crystal ones that will work and they were 2 for $1.25 she said or you could've went to the thrift store and found a fancy shirt with those buttons on it! Now why on earth didn't I think of that!

Okay, I have just one more gift to buy and I'm done
I will have the kids squared away and my mom, sister and her kids, and my best friend...oh and something for me.
I have Avon coming tomorrow and will be getting that. My best friend and I will be getting homemade candles that a coworker makes that is in a candy bowl and smells absolutely wonderful. She's gonna ship that off for me to him. I just need to buy the kids their games, some batteries, and a perfume for the two littliest one and my sister is sending a purse for my eldest niece, so I'm done. I did order two things more from Avon. My sister will love this ethnic Tree topper and I order a different one for myself. I love my Santa but this will look even better. I'll pay for that right before my mom comes and it'll be there on the tree when she's here so...I'm done with Xmas gifts. Yippee!!!
I do need to send some Xmas candy to my sister/best friend, but that's all and that's just because it's a regional item that I want them to have. Other than that, I am completely through-

Cooking Tip
"To keep the top crisp and the casserole warm going to a party, place a paper towel over the top of the dish before wrapping it in foil. The condensation from the hot food will be absorbed by the towel instead of forming on the foil and dripping back onto the food."
