Kids staying active

I think one of the best inventions out there right now is that Wii console. That thing is such a great concept and a great way for kids to do something they love, as well as move around and get a work out. I'll tell ya - there are some games that leave me feeling like I ran a marathon! You don't even realize you're working out until you're done.

Also, over the summer, my gym had a fitness program designed just for kids. So instead of dropping your children off in the kiddy corner, you could drop them off at one of the fitness classes and do your work-out, while your children are getting a work out too. It really was a great idea! The kids were having fun and learning about how to stay active and healthy.

Heavenly Tune, tell us what games you reccommend for the Wii. We don't have one, but are thinking about it for Christmas. Shhh, don't tell.

Well, the game that comes standard with the Wii, the 'Wii sports' is a good one cause they have bowling and tennis (and I think a boxing one?) that gets a good work out. Wii Fit is really good because it's fun and exercise. There is also a Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games that is like the Wii sports, but more movement. Oh - and Dance Dance revolution. My friend has that one and said she lost like 10 lbs!

Hope that helps!

I have a freind in her 50's, she bought the Wii and does that herself for her 20 min workout each day at home ... she also likes to play the games when her grandkids come to her house.
