Frontier Town in Ocean City, Maryland...
It is fantastic whether you tent or RV. There are not alot of mosquitos because they do spray, but you are still only a few minutes from Assateaque Island National Seashore. There is loads of wild life including deer and WILD horses.
If the night life is more your thing, you are just a hop skip and a jump to the board walk.
Forget something? FOODLION is also right up the road.
The campground itself is excellent for families with small children and you are permitted pets. There is a playground and fabulous waterpark (free to campers) as well as mini-golf and wild west show. My hubby loves the fishing pier where they also "crab". One year dh caught a small shark. He woke me up estatic, but all I could think was..."where is mama shark?!"..LOL

Wow! I'd be wondering where Mama Shark was also. That's kinda scary! It's sounds like a wonderful place, as long as you don't become shark food! lol

I just thought I'd try to revive this thread again. We've camped at a couple of different Indiana state parks this summer...Mississinewa & Brookville. My Mom & I took the girls for a week at a KOA in Crawfordsville, IN (I grew up in C'ville & my parents still live there). We camped a couple of nights in OH & took the girls to King's Island. We're leaving on the 10th to camp at Prophetstown State Park for 3 nights and we're going to camp for 3 nights at Brown County State Park over Labor Day weekend. We also "camped" 2 nights in our friend's parent's driveway in Monticello, IN. Our friends are living in China for 3 years and they're home on vacation. His parents live on the lake in Monticello & they used to have an RV so he has a cement pad across the road from their house w/ water & electricity. We parked the camper there for 2 days & we were able to hang out w/ our friends & go out in their boat. It was kind of odd camping at the edge of a golf course though! I wonder what the golfers thought about us!

Have any of you camped around the midwest? We still (well, I'm still) not that comfortable being in the truck while dh is pulling the trailer long distances so we're sticking closer to home right now. Maybe next summer we'll branch out more.

In the future we want to go to Canada and also sometime take a trip to PA. My dh lived in PA when he was younger so he wants to go back and show the girls the sites. We'd stop several times along the way since that would be a very long drive.

Well Mindy if you go to Gettysburg I'd be glad to show the local sites.

In this area Cowan's Gap State Park and Raystown are probably the best places to go!

That would be great! I think it'll be a few years before we go that far, but it's definitely in our future plans.

We are planning a New England camping vacation for next summer. The only definite place we have on our itinerary is Bar Harbor, ME. I am working on a 2 week long trip and am going to try to talk my DH into taking our dog with us.

Any suggestions for destinations? We live in Delaware and are interested in stopping anywhere between home and Bar Harbor!
