the past couple of weekends I have been taking my 2 kids ages 11 and 12 on nature hikes.....we went to visit the basque monument here in Reno Nv and they had a nature trail with signs about plants and past history of the area....it is about a mile long...very pretty and enjoyable....I have also taken them to oxbow nature study area that is along the same line....we have walked through the tree grove and arbitrarium and the local park looking at flowers shrubs landscaping etc....they had a blast...tood kids and grandkids to play park and we walked along the river and played on the bank....it was great....also have a small zoo and animal sanctuary....we do fishing also as a day trip
