Well our camping trip was GREAT! Here are some of the details:

Dh and the boys went ahead to Rocky Mountain Campground in Rome, Ga. They got us a beautiful campsite right on the waterfront. We were close to the beach and the playground. They got everything set-up and organized.
DH grilled burgers for dinner for them.

After working all day, DSIL and I packed up our personal items and met up with DH and the boys. DH did a fantastic job decorating our site for Memorial Day! We had flags and banners and lights everywhere! It was truly patriotic! Dh's friend came up and brought his kayak for the boys to use. He left it with us all week-end!
Dh fixed bacon sandwiches for him and the boys for breakfast, and hotdogs for lunch. Dh fixed us a wonderful steak dinner with potatoes, salad and grilled bread.

Dinner was burgers and hot dogs. S'mores for dessert! Played cards til bedtime.

Happy Memorial Day! Breakfast was pancakes and bacon. Spent a lazy day laying on the beach! Dh and the boys fished and kayaked most of the day. Had a family game of Badminton. Lunch was chili dogs and chips. Dh's friend came back up to get his kayak and we had grilled burgers and smoked sausage, potatoes, baked beans. The weather got a little stormy so we had to tie everything down good and retreat to our tents early.

Early morning! Quick breakfast of sausage sandwiches. Packed everything up and said good-bye to humble little home. Ahhhh it was a great week-end but now......yuck! The Laundry!
Lessons Learned from this trip:
1) NEVER let Dh organize the kitchen! I spent most of the first 2 days trying to re-organize!
2) Make triple batches of Rice Krispy treats!
3) Letting DS take a friend along makes for a really enjoyable and peaceful trip for mom!
Ohhhhhh I am so jealous!! I can't get my SH to go camping I noticed him softening up to the idea last time I brough it up, so maybe I'll get lucky by Labor Day LMAO
It sounds like you had such an awesome time, good for you!
