love camping

Hi there, We just got home from our family camp-out. We go on one every year. This year we went to kittatinny camp ground on the delaware river. Right on the border of NY/PA. We had a great time as a matter of fact we liked it so much we booked it there for next year before we left. We were there for 3 nights and 4 days
there was 24 of us. I would say we cooked so many different things. We had pancakes one morning, frecnh toast ,omelets, bacon and sausage.
We had slow cooked spare ribs one night and fatgita wraps another night we had piaha. Which is a mix of rice, mussels clams, shrimps, chicken, & rabbit it is delicious. Every year we cook different things and the experience just gets better. I have
to say though it is very relaxing especially when the bugs don't bother you which this weekend had to be the best because there were hardly no bugs so that made it even more enjoyable. I can't wait until next year to go back. I just thought you would like my story.

Thanks for sharing your story! You didn't mention though do you tent camp or do you have a camper? My family and I love to tent camp! It has been so extremely hot this summer that we didn't get to go but one time. We are hoping to go again though in the fall before it gets too cold!

My favorite time during our camping trips is when we have the nightly campfire.
The bigger the better!

My family always does the tent camping. During the summer we try to go at least twice. This summer we went to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone. It was amazing!!!!

I have to agree that the nightly campfires are the best!!!

Seems like every two years a couple posts are made here. We tent camped for a little bit but a couple rain storms on trampled ground and my husband's back injury from when he worked in college for a moving company spurred us to get a pop up trailer. Got us up off the ground.

The tent camping we did in PA at Cook's Forest. It is a great great great family campground. Very large and full service enough for most camper's tastes. Only thing is, one time they had this think with Daddy Long Leg spiders. They were everywhere and in all sizes. In our suitcases and shoes, in our breadbox, hanging on the tent walls, crawling over open mouths during nap times (and I bet at night too while I was sleeping). There were about 5 spiders per square foot. After the third day we managed to view them as part of the harmless scenery but now I think, How did we put up with that?!
