Our camping trip

Well last year we bought our first tent and all the gear that goes with it.

we have used the tent a few times (not too many) as it has tipped it down with rain since we got it and we need a few more practices to put it up lol

The kids love it when we camp, but we haven't yet ventured too far from home just incase the kiddies didn't like it.

On our second venture it rained so much we nearly got washed away, our clothes were drenched right to the skin. It took us ages to dry out, but we did see the funny side after the storm blew over ( our youngest wasn't impressed with the storm)

We have been a few more times and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went Easter Holidays last and hoping to going again Spring Bank holiays :D

When every you camp in a tent it rains! We did tent camping when the kids were small. It was a great way to get away from the house for a weekend. It was cheap.

I haven't camped in a tent since I was a child in the 1970's. In the 1980's friends and I would co-share another friends trailer for those longer trips away from camp grounds but with great Natural experiences (hiking, natural hot springs, motor bike races, etc). When DH and I would go rough it, we would take his pick up truck with its bed shell, sleeping bags, cooler of food & soda's, and bags full of paper/plastic items (until someone gave me a 1 person all - in one metal serving/pan with utensils as a gift), and we would park where out houses/ camping facilities were at. I always had a blast, but then I am more of a nature person than a city girl anyway.

We love camping. As a matter of fact, our vacation is going to be camping somewhere away from home. It is so relaxing and calming to get away from home and get back to nature. We always seem to forget something that we need tho, like some cooking utensil, or pan, lol.

Madmum, we love camping! We learned the hard way it is always a good idea to set up a rain tarp over the tent and to make sure the tent is water proof as we too have gone camping in the rain (once our tent even flooded!) We have a two room tent which is nice as we store our clothes etc. in the front half and sleep in the back half. It is such a nice getaway to go camping. I have a friend who has a camper which has a bathroom with shower, a microwave, color tv, air conditioning, two bedrooms, a living area and it is absolutely gorgeous but to me that isn't really camping. We go to get away from tv and all the luxuries. (to rough it as some might say) and as much fun as we have, we sure do appreciate coming home too.

We have also bee camping in a caravan. It was one of those static ones, with all the mod cons. We enjoyed it, but prefer to tent camping.

Last time we went in Easter, we thought that we had remembered everything, but come breakfast the kiddies asked where the bowls were OH No lol

Well after this week the children break up from school for 2 weeks, so we are looking into going off for a couple of days with the tent. :D
