Vacation Plans

Will you plan a vacation this year? With the economy the way it is this year who is still planning a vacation? Are you cutting/downsizing your plans from previous years?

I save every year for my vacation with the kids. this year, i have a head start by getting a holiday world ticket early..and i have a few things in st loius i may take them to if i cant afford a trip like id planned. we are planning to go to gatlinberg, just havent gotten all the money together yet. ill wind up saving cans, doing ebay, a rummage sale, maybe selling my old van..anything to gather up the money. I am figureing i need about 1500 for a 4 day trip in gatlinberg...we are not going to dollywood..and thats including gas and the food. i have about 400 saved so far. its a long way to go tho..

ill be doing things to save on my trip too..like finding coupons from the entertainment book.or trying to find someone who already has one..who would be willing to either sell me that book cheaper or whatever,

the girls are doing the whole saving in a bank for their own souviners..and if i buy them, we usually get postcards, or tee shirts..things that will be useful later.

thats all i can think of now...

but im always looking for a good idea..lol.

We'd like to take the kids to the beach and to the NC aquarium but I'm not sure we're going to make it because we are hoping to move this summer.

it's been so long since I've had a real vacation and it'll be even longer--unless I win the lottery one day---LOL
I'm on one week's vacation right now, started tonight. I'm planning on taking my grandkids to a movie-if not this weekend, next weekend; I'd like to go bowling one night; have to take my parents to the eye dr. on Tuesday, my mom for a CAT scan on Wed., for a shot on Friday-in between is my time to sleep in, veg out, try and visit friends I haven't seen in awhile and take my mom to visit family we haven't seen in awhile too.
One day I hope to get back to Disney World and to take my grandkids with me...

We have already booked a cruise from Alaska to Vancouver, BC. We've never been there and it is a trip we have wanted to take for a while. We will cut in other ways, so we can splurge on this.

We have a travel trailer(hotel on wheels). We are planning a week camping in July. If things work out we will plan some weekend camping trips also. With dh not working the week vacation is the only thing we will do for now.
