I come from NYC ..there is no facination there for me anymore...
I'd love to live in Florence (Firenza) Italy for a year. That is THE most beautiful city in the world...

I grew up in NYC, and still live in the area. I think I'd like to live in San Francisco for a year. I was there once years ago, and I loved the weather and the hills, and the views! ( I loved being on the Pacific coast) There was still all the arts I am used to available, and the city doean't close at midnight.
Also so much variety is in driving distance.. A year there would be grand ( just no earthquakes, pleasse!!
I guess it ould be New York in the states. So much available to you in the arts and history.\Somewhere in Italy if overseas, same reasons as above, probably Florence.
I grew up about 50 miles from Los Angeles and don't like big cities. New York would be nice to visit but don't think I would want to live there for a whole year. I like rain and cool weather, so Seattle would be my choice.

I would pick a city in Maine.
I'm not a city girl, though.... but for just a year, if the situation was right, I'd probably love it.
My dh and ds would love to live in the city. My dh always talked about living in the city of Pittsburgh. His brother used to live in NYC and he has some crazy stories of when he would visit him.
