Next month I will be moving into a 5th Wheel. I am going away to a university and eventually grad school for at least 4 years! Although the trailer is more roomy than most travel trailers with a mass amount of cabnets, it will still be tight, space wise. In any event, I need ya'lls advice on how to live. I need to hang dry most of my clothes and I cannot hang my clothes outdoors. Are there any gadgets to hang clothes indoors? Any storage tips? Any other tips? Time and money will need to be saved. Any and all advice would be apprciated as this is our first travel trailer.

Well! You are certainly brave. We lived in a 23' travel trailer for a whole summer in AZ - 3 kids and 2 adults.
Are you sure that you want to hang dry your clothes? There are small compact dryers that use regular current - could make a portable dryer vent that could fit in a window for temporary use. You could use dryer racks that are portable and fold up. Fit the shower with those cups that hold up adjustable shower bars, and hang clother in there and excess moisture would go down the drain. If you live in a dry climate that wouldn't be too bad. Otherwise; the humidity would be terrible in a closed in space.

I have seen retractable clotheslines in catalogs. You hang them in the shower, when not using to dry your clothes, you retract it to one end of the shower. Don't remember the catalog, but it is one of those ones called Carol Wright? Not sure.
They also have drying racks at Walmart, but they aren't too sturdy.

I actually do live in a dry climate right smack in the desert. lol I wear some expensive tees that I cannot dry with extreme heat without cutting their lives short.

We have one of those in our laundry room in our house right now. However, I have not been able to find one anywhere! I may be wrong, but I thought we bought it at Wal-mart, but our Wal-mart has nada.
This will be the first time that I have lived alone AND the first time that I've lived in or owned a travel trailer. So, living like this is going to be a new experience. They do make washer/dryers for this type of trailer, but they cost over $800, plus installation. I really appreciate your ideas and any others on this type of living.
i really dont have any ideas, we have a wooden drying rack we use sometimes in the bathtub, if you cant find one of thoes..what about a couple of hooks in the wall, like for hanging plants, and loop a peice of rope between them in the bathroom area, then you can hang the teeshirts from it either on plastic hangers, or by clothes pins. hth. good luck

I have seen the retractables as Coll talked about. It was in a few mail order catalogs....Carol Wright, Harriet Carter, Miles Kimble. They weren't that expensive, as I recall.

I have seen the retractable clothes-lines at Big Lots and they were priced very reasonably. They get a lot of Walmart's closeout items, so if you have one of their stores in your area you might check there.

Lowes Hardware/Home Depot usually has the retractable clotheslines. You might also want to see if you have a camper sales lot that has a store, their are also RV catalogs on-line with lots of never thought about items.
