What has been your best deal?

What has been your best deal? Not necessarily a freebie or a great buy, but something you bought that you are either really proud of or use often and couldn't live without?

Mine are:

A pair of black cargo pants from Wallmart's clearance rack, I paid less than $5 for them but I wear them at least once a week, even to work!

Discontinued deoderent from the grocery store, 2 for my DH and 1 for me at .50 each. I came home beaming from this deal!

I'm sure that there are a millon and one more but that was what I could think of right now.

Well we have this store here that is called Savers. It is like one big garage sale. I have gotten so many name brand clothes for my kids for under 3 bucks.

My in-laws buy things and then change their mind a year later and re-buy something different, an example:

Last year they bought a brand 2 new umbrellas for their patio set, they sold one to their neighbor who in turn gave us their smaller version.

This summer my in-laws decided to cover their deck, there for not needing their umbrella and giving it to us! The smaller version we got from their neighbors will be going in our yard sale this weekend! YEA!

In the next town they have a couple of thrift stores that are run by Hospice. I bought a full length black leather coat for 40.00 and the money went to a good cause. I have about 20 leather jackets that I have bought at Goodwill that I paid 3 to 5 dollars for. Also have lots of dress jackets for church from there. In fact I never buy clothes at a retail store anymore.

I guess my sounds kind of like a joke but it is not. We were grocery shopping when we lived back in Maine. It was in Gorham. Well, my dh always has to check out the meats. He came running (literly) to me with this 20 some pound turkey in his hands. He said "Honey do you want a turkey" I told him not really. Then he said"look at the price" I could not believe my eyes it said .02 total price. I told him its a joke so we put it in the cart , went up paid for all the groceries and yes we bought a 20 pound turkey for .02 it was the best turkey we ever had, Nice and moist and cheap. LOL This is a true story and it will probably never happen again in my lifetime.

I love "mistakes" like that! I don't think that I've been able to find a deal like that...ever!!

The best price at the grocery I've gotten was free after sale & coupon. But at $.02 for 20 lbs of meat I would have bought all there was and gave way what I didn't have room for.

My inlaws are all the time gifting us with their closet rejects as they know I'll find a home for the items or sell it for an extra income.

So far the 1 deal that comes 2 my mind was a pair of khaki capris from the clearance rack @ WalMarrt. A cheap $1.06 w tax and I am still wearing them...

Our best deal was actually one of my Christmas presents this year. I have been wanting a George Foreman grill WITH the removable plates for a while(we have the other type & love it,just not easy to clean). Most of the ones we had seen were $50-70 which I think is rediculous & not what I would pay. My daughter went to Bed,Bath, & Beyond the Monday before Christmas to look around. She went down the clearence aisle & saw one there, the last one they had, without a box but with everything else. It was first marked $19.99 then marked down to $14.98. She took it up to the cashier who let her use a $5 off $15 cpn even though it wasn't the full $15. So she got one for me for $9.98 plus tax!! She even left the tag on so that I could see the great bargain she got!! I guess I taught her well!! Truly a great & frugal gift that we both enjoy.
