For a while my favorite TV mom was Annie from 7th Heaven, but then the dynamic of the marriage changed. She started to be really IN CHARGE and her husband turned into a wimp. I also liked her mothering style less and less as the show went on. It's disappointing.

I totally agree. While I still like the show, the change in their marriage dynamics have had me baffled......wonder why the writers/producers/etc.... decided to make that change???
I have always loved the mom on Wonder Years.....She was always put together & was doing everything for the family but I especially loved when she took the time to do something for herself. She is my favorite
I'd have to say Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond. She has a lot of baggage to handle with her in-laws living across the street, and she is very witty and quick on the trigger with a comeback.
Karen, she is really IN CHARGE.
This happened before the heart surgery and before the heart attack....I think when the twins were born or even during the pregnancy, it started to come about, and now she is really overboard.
I used to like Debra on "Everybody Loves Raymond" but sometimes it seems that she has little respect for her husband. She is always rolling her eyes, calling him an idiot, belittling him in front of the kids.
Yeah, I'd like to see the truly perfect TV mom. Maybe Marion from "Happy Days?"
My all time favorite tv mom is Olivia Walton. Gentle yet firm, could handle anything, and her family always came first. I thought she was real pretty too.

elrey, you are right Olivia Walton!! I like the way her discipline was to read so many books of the bible!
Barbszy, I have only really seen Seventh Heaven up to the point where Eric has the heart attack. I did notice she is pushy, I thought maybe that is why she is so pushy right now. Due to Eric not wanting to go back to preaching as his job.
I will eventually get caught up with that show!
