What did you think about the start of the new season?
I think Ann has spoiled her family. I wonder if Amy would be better off at a school for teen mothers. She needs to learn how to take care of this baby! I was surprised to see how she is saying she can't do this or that since she is pregnant.
Amy's dad is a jerk.

I agree that Amy was being a bit of a brat, but I think it set up how the next few episodes will go. It will be about Amy learning to deal with this as an adult. The shock is over and now it's time to get realistic!
And I thought it was great to see Ann finally listening to herself. She's about to do something for herself and I hope she gets a job that blows George away. Even with her women's studies major!
I watched the marathon of this last week and really liked it.
Ann, like most of us can be clueless, unless we have an open relationship with our kids. I went through something simular....my DD likes to tell me things, she thinks I'd like to hear, including that she hasn't had sex and I know different.
I thought I had an open relationship with her, but she didn't want to hurt or loose my trust.
As for Amy going to a different school, I don't think so, a pregnant girl has the same rights as every other child going to school. After the first came up pregnant, alot more kids were checking into birth control and my favorite abstinance. The lack of education, when it comes to sex, whether in the home or at school is lacking in my part of the world.
I wanted my DD to wait, but in the end hormones got the better of the situation. Where do you go from here.....education. The best part of the show comes at the end, when Amy does the part about talking to parents, and teens listening to the parents and working and TALKING things out.
The dad is a jerk though... I agree with on that one.

Oh, I think it's pretty common to tell them what you think they want to hear. It's also an age when you're first beginning to realize privacy is a right you have, so you tend to take it to the extreme and keep a lot in. It's all part of growing up, I think. There are still things I'll never tell mom!!
But I think Ann and Amy are starting to talk a lot better now. They've discussed adoption and her financial situation, and I think it's great! She gave Amy time to accept the baby is coming, and now she is saying, "Time to get ready!" I think that's wonderful.
I just really feel bad for poor Grace. She's going to be so hurt when she finds out how Ricky truly is.
Just caught the last five minutes this week, I'm glad they are talking about the adoption process. I need to check if they have the episode on the web, so I can see the whole thing.
I do like this show and I love Molly Ringwald in it. I do see some awards for her.

And did you see her tell off Ricky's dad? I've never clapped at my tv like I did to that. Talk about raw emotion! She did a great job and the dialogue was just wonderful.
I loved last nights show. It is looking like Amy might put the baby up for adoption. Somehow I dont think we have seen the last of Rickys dad. Esp now since they know the baby is a boy. I hate to see Amy and Ben break up but I do understand it. If the preview is what it looked like.
