Dancing With The Stars 2008

Well the newest season of Dancing with the stars has started...anyone out there watching??? I love all the celebrities they have this year......my fav is Kristi Yamaguchi because I loved her as a skater but am seeing that she is a pretty competent dancer...I think she strives for gold in all she does. I also like a few of the other ladies...I was surprised at how well Pricilla Presely did. I think the guys have a lot of catching up to do. Only a couple of them impressed me. I do love Steve Guttenburgs love of life and all in general.....just having fun. I do not like Adam Corolla at all.

So what are your opinions????

Hugs dEbbie

I don't care for Adam Carolla either Deb. Did not like Kim & Pym either. But love the show in general

Kathy, yes Penn and Monica are off the show. I thought Monica tried really hard, but it seemed that she just wasn't very musical.

My favorites among the women are Kristi and Priscilla, which surprised me a little as I didn't think I'd like Priscilla so much. Louis, her partner/choreographer, has really done a great job of suiting her strengths in their dances.

I think Kristi has been incredible -- she's done an impressive job on each of her dances.

Among the guys, I like Mario and Jason. I think they've both been excellent right from the start.

It will be fun to see how the rest of the stars progress as weeks go on.

Liz

Kathy,
I know what you mean. I didn't know who a bunch of these people were when they announced this season's lineup.

Of course, I had heard of Monica Seles, Penn Jillette and Priscilla Presley, and I've been a fan of Kristi Yamaguchi's skating for years.

Marlee Matlin is an actress, and I think I remember that she was occasionally on West Wing, a show here a couple of years ago that centered on the U.S. presidency. Steve Guttenberg was in movies some years ago, like Three Men and a Baby.

As to the rest of the stars, I had seen Adam Carolla on tv and had heard the name Jason Taylor, a football player, but that's it. The rest of them were new to me.

I would certainly find 5 minutes of update on the show to be less than helpful in knowing who everyone was. It's nice of you to take note of a show so far away that you can't even watch.

Liz

There are 12 stars. Others are:Marissa Jaret Winokur(won Tony for Hairspray on Broadway),Mario(R&B singer),Cristian De La Fuente(telenovela star),& Shannon Elizabeth(American Pie actress). Don't feel bad-I did not know any of these & also Jason Taylor(football player. I mostly know the players on the Chicago Bears).

I am enjoying all the competitiors this year, dancers (esp like the Hough siblings) and stars alike.
I am, however, rooting for Kristi Yamaguchi!!!!!

I saw "Hairspray" back in November and though it wasn't Marissa, my goodness, she is a spitting image of the young girl who did play the role!
(Marissa is now 35 but she played the role of Tracy Turnblad when she was younger and won a Tony.)
I like her spunk! She is a survivor of cervical cancer and a surrogate woman is currently carrying a baby for her and her husband. They are "due" in May!!!

I thought it was funny when Marlee Matlin sad (in reference to Carrie Ann saying her hands were like pancakes......) "I use my hands a lot and don't know what that means, my hands like pancakers!!!"

Steve was such a good loser last night shaking all the judges hands. I felt bad for him though when he wished to say something and the camera time was running out........

hugs, train
