Has anyone here read the book? Well, it is on my list to read...first of all, it is one of my friends favorites and secondly, they are coming out with a movie event on it starring Debra Messing, love her! have yall seen the commercials? i have a feeling it is going to be really good...

I was looking on the show's website and saw that they are holding a promotion, asking peeps to share their real starter wife stories...sooo what exactly is a starter wife? anyone here one?

I have no idea what a Starter Wife is. Does it say on the movie or book's website?

I googled the words Starter Wife and the first site listed was an official website for it followed by all kinds of sites for the book, movie, etc. Sounds like it could be pretty interesting. But it still doesn't define the term, starter wife.

"The Starter Wife," a six-hour television event, premieres on USA Network.
The Starter Wife is a sexy, savvy and wickedly funny tour de force about life after divorce and one woman's quest to redefine herself after years of marriage to a Hollywood studio head.
After being blacklisted from premieres to pilates, Molly Kagan (Debra Messing) searches to rediscover life after divorce. A brief respite in Malibu and some oh-so-Hollywood friends prove to be the perfect ****tail for her transformation from "Starter Wife" to her new life.
Based on Gigi Levangie Grazer's New York Times best seller of the same name, The Starter Wife also stars Judy Davis, Joe Mantegna, Miranda Otto & Anika Noni Rose.

That does sound good. I'll have to get the book at the library. Thanks!

thanks ellenmelon -- that is show that I was talking about! Soo excited about its premiere. I did a little research and read that a starter wife is someone who has been divorced and is forced to start her life over. She has been know as the "wife of __" but is now forced to fend for herself. As I was poking around the site, I came across these all these woman who are sharing their stories. They are great and very inspiring. Check it out:

Love her too! I really miss her in Will and Grace so I am excited to see her again.

And I just entered the frest start contest for the show -- I am hoping for the fully paid trip to LA but will definitely settle for the malibu survival tote bag full of fashion, beauty and fitness goodies...how cool does that tote bag look?

Selfishly dont want to share but here you go
