the deaths of Johnny Cash & John Ritter

Is any one else out there saddened by the recent deaths of both Johnny Cash & John Ritter?

I know entertainers die all the time but for some reason both of these hit me...

Johnny Cash was such a unique individual...The Man in Black

John Ritter was one of the best physical commedians I have ever seen with the exception of Lucille Ball...

My son & I sometimes watch Three's Company on Nick @ Night and he wondered why that show was being shown on Fox News
and I told him that the man had just died and he said "already?"
He's only not yet five and didn't know that the show was older...Kids say the darndest things!

Ok...I'm all done now

I, too, am saddened by their deaths. They were both great entertainers. Johnny Cash, "My Name is Sue, How Do You Do." He is with his beloved June Carter now and is no longer suffering but we will miss a great entertainer.

As to John Ritter. I am so in shock over that. I loved him. I used to watch Three's Company all the time and still catch it on reruns. I just recently started watching his Eight Rules to Date my Daughter tv series. He was a great comedian and I think a down to earth guy.

Both men will be greatly missed.

re:jonny cash & john ritter

Linda,

I'm glad I'm not the only one...

You're right, I believe Johnny is with June & I recently saw him on a CMT Inside Fame program...he loved her dearly...You know, she wrote "Burnin' Ring of Fire" about Johnny.

John Ritter was a shock...It pays to live every day as if it were your last...

No, I didn't know that June wrote that song for him. Isn't that marvelous?

I've been going through old papers and getting rid of stuff I feel I no longer need so I have room to put stuff I do feel I need. Anyway, I ran across a poem I wrote to my hubby when we were first married. It was so bad. But hubby had carried it with him his 3 years in the service so I saved it. One of these days when the kids go through the cedar chest and find that poem they will get a laugh I'm sure. I guess my point is, I couldn't write a poem let alone a song if my life depended on it. I really do admire people that can.

We just lost our governor, Frank O'Bannon yesterday. He had a stroke. He was in politics for over 26 years and was very much respected and loved.

You just never know. So sad.

I was when I heard about John Ritter. I had to hear it several times before I actually believed it! At first, I kept thinking that they must be talking about his Dad, Tex, and just getting the names mixed up. (although I was sure his Dad had already passed away) So sad to have lost him so young. I also feel so sad for his daughter. To have lost her Daddy on her 5th birthday will surely sadden her birthday for many, many years to come.

TVLand is doing a tribute to John Ritter today. Right now the episode of Mary Tyler Moore is on in which he played the minister that marries Ted & Georgette.

To be honest, I wasn't really that shocked over Johnny Cash's death. It saddened me deeply but I wasn't . When June passed away, I told my Dad, (A HUGE Johnny Cash fan) that I didn't think Johnny would stick around long without his beloved June. And, sadly, he didn't.

We've lost some "good ones" this year...Bob Hope, Maurice Gibb and now Johnny Cash & John Ritter......I'm sure that I am having a brain "burp" and forgetting someone........
