Morning all!

It was a little bit on the cool side this morning. I'd much rather have stayed in the warm bed than come to work. Everyone have a good weekend? I had a pretty good Sunday...I never even got out of my pj's . Monday's just come around too fast.

Hey everyone how's it going? Fairly good up here but cold.

Judy wanted to welcome you to the porch. Grab ya a cup of coffee or chocolate and sit a spell with us. I live in the NW GA mountains on the other side of Calhoun or down the road from Dalton. My hubby Jerry and I have 3 kids, Michale--17 almost 18, Matt-15 and Lacy-12. We also have 2 dogs and 6 cats and a lot of wild animals that claim this land also but none have bothered us to much. I am a stay at home mom and love it for the most part. My hubby telecommutes so he is home all the time also.

martie glad you had such a great time on your trip, can't wait to see the pictures.

Joyce good luck on winning that 126 million, I would love to see you retire. Then we could meet at the WH just for coffee and chatting (and you could tell the new girls how they were doing). How's your dad doing? You know I have him and your son in my prayers, your stepmom also.

Pag how are you doing? I think putting a tree up will be a great idea and I would let IMP help if he will. I think he will do much better with it this year especially if he helps. Lacy had a problem with wanting to take the stuff off the tree until she got to around kindergarden and we started letting her help put the decorations on the tree. At first she wanted to put everything on one branch so you will probably have to teach him how to decorate but I bet ya'll will have a great time together.

Kim you work at a vet, next time a customer gets rude with you just let the dogs loose and then say I am so sorry it must of been all that noise bothering them. That was real sweet of your boss to send flowers.

navy, Sharon, Doris, Stacey, ya'll stay warm and dry.

Yes Mouse that is what I was thinking having him help me decorate it should be a good incentive for him to leave it alone once it is done. NOW if I can find a small one to fit on my Hearth as don't think I have room for a larger one this year nor money to buy a big one.

Butch's funeral is tomorrow the viewing is as I am typing this. Sherry nor Billy are going to be able to be there either. So since Sherry was sending flowers I had her put my name along with Billy's and will help her pay the price. I am calm so none of you "porchers" worry about me okay. I am staying busy doing things. Made 4 pumpkin breads today along with rice pudding and chili. Now how is that for staying busy.

Judy can't say where I am because of the secret sister thing but I am FROM GA and miss it terribly. Take care all

Morning to all,

You gals are so friendly, I'm glad I found this board .

Can someone tell me about the "secret sister" thing? Or point me in the right direction.

I love the mountains, we lived in Ellijay for a while. But the commute was too much. When you leave at 6:15am and get back at 7:30 - 8:00pm it doesn't leave much time for anything else, including cooking. But I'd love to move back when I don't have to work anymore (as if that will be anytime soon, LOL).

Welcome Judy!

We are a gabby bunch, usually, so hop right in. I'm Sharon, and I live in White county, Cleveland to be exact. I'm a new transplant to the mountains, I lived in SW FL for 16 years before moving here. I have a hubby of 23 years, Nestor, and 1 son, 22, Justin.

I work from home for a Law firm, and hubby is a painter. We also do photography. Justin is a manager for a store out at the Dawsonville outlets.

Mouse, did you get my pm about Michael's Sr pics? I'll be happy to help however I can.

I'm not dealing well with the cold this year. I think last year lulled me into a false sense of winter. All is calm and quiet here, thinking about how to decorate for Christmas since this cabin is way different than anything we have ever had. Anybody starting to decorate?

Pag, does Imp still love the Redskins? I am a born and raised Washingtonian, and have some stuff he might like.

Martie I, too, can't wait to see the cruise pics. I've never been on one, so I will live vicariously through you. LOL

That's it from here. Be Good all!
Sharon

Judy if you will move back to the bottom of Sharon's post and click on her lips it will take you to the Secret Sister part where the rules and everything is. Also if you lived in Ellijay then heck you probably know where I am. I live in the Ranger area, not to far from Ellijay. And your right about the drive, if Jerry had to go to work everyday there is no way we could have moved up here.

Sharon I did get your PM, thanks. it took me a few days to find the photographers phone number and now I am waiting for him to call me back. If I can't get it resolved I will be contacting you for some pictures. They were really nice though so I am hoping they can help.

Everyone have a nice day, the weather is great up here today.

Hey Everyone!

Wow it's been cold over here in these here parts!!

Nothing going on just wanted to pop in and smile at ya'll !!

Judy (or anyone else for that matter) please don't hesitate to pm or email me if you ever have any questions or problems on the boards that the others can't help you with. I don't actually moderate this particular board but I can steer ya in the right direction on questions in general.

Well tomorrow's my day off! Yeah!!!

Have a great evening everyone!!!

Hello everyone, Sharona yes IMP is still Redskin and a diehard at that for one so young. Gina says Adam is a turncoat because he now roots for the Eagles. Mom is for Redskins and Dad is for Eagles lol. IF I had a fave it would be the Green Bay Packers as they were Otto's fave.

Hi everyone!

I was reading the posts to this thread and knew it was the place for me! I am new to Family Corner but I have really enjoyed it. What a great board. Everyone has been so friendly.

A little about myself. I am a married working mom of 1 DS. He is 8 . I don't live in GA but I live close. I live in Polk Co., TN which borders GA and NC. I am familiar with many of the places you gals have mentioned here.

My hubby and I spent last weekend in Helen, GA celebrating our 17th anniversary. We rented a cabin on the Chattahooche complete with hot tub....very romantic!

On our way home Sunday we stopped and took a hike to Dukes Creek Falls. I had to try out my anniversary gift. A pair of hiking boots!

Hubby, DS and I spend lots of time in the North GA mountains.
We camp at Vogel ST Park and hike to many of the beautiful waterfalls in the area.

Well....now that you know my life story LOL. I 'm not a shy person.

I'm looking forward to chatting with all you gals and getting to know you.

From the foothills of TN

Kelly
