Hello all, IMP loves Summer Fun, comes home most days telling us all that he did during the day. They don't go on Friday's and of course since Sunday is a holiday they are off this Monday. So will only be a 3 day week coming up.

Gina and Kent are having both the boys over there Sunday for cookout and then Fireworks later which start around 8 I think. IMP does not like hot dogs cooked anyway except boiled. I bought some cup cakes for the kids too.

Today Gina and I went to BJ's (like Sam's) over in Chesapeake nice place. I bought some cheese and other danish yummy but oh so fattening but guess who is going to eat them anyway.

Hope all have a great weekend. God bless

Hi, ladies, how are ya all doing today? We had our little bit of rain this morning, but this afternoon is hot and sunny. I even went out for a teeny tiny walk, just to stretch my legs a little and check on one of the rosebushes for, um black blight, I think it's called...black spot from too much rain. The yellow one looks ok, and I didn't try and walk across the grass to check on the pink one.

Work was a booger, period. We got very busy, the district manager jumped in a couple of times ahead of the orders I was holding, the cooks aren't in sync with each other, it was just totally confusing, and I got totally lost, lol. And went for a little over four hours without a cigarette, I want y'all to know! Now THAT is busy, lol. Anyway, I'm going right back into it in the morning, and hope that we're not as busy. Someone else was doing the hostess thing today, and I offered to let her do my expediting, because she was bored(I understand that, believe me)but she turned me down, as she's only been with us about four days and didn't feel up to doing the calling. Oh, well, they're stuck with me, I guess.

Patti, I like my hogdogs boiled, too, just like IMP does, but, I also like them over a fire, fryed in a pan, cold out of the fridge as leftovers...I just plain like hotdogs! Hope they have fun at the fireworks and cookout. We have a BJ's not too far from us, but I've never been in it. Heck, I've only been in a Sam's once, and didn't really care too much for it. Enjoy the danish...if you eat them standing up, they're not fattening at all...snicker

Mouse, that's funny about Jerry and the hairdo, lol. Hey, maybe it'll put a little spice in y'all's's life, whaddya think? And you can always make him cut his hair, too, y'know. But then, if E. ever cut his hair, I'd have a fit!!! I have always liked long hair on a man, and I like beards and mustaches, too. Tell Lacey that I'm sorry I wasn't at the WH Friday, probably sorrier than she was, lol. I want my old schedule back...waaaaaa! How was Sonic? I've never eaten there, but I've heard that it's pretty good. Tell her also that she has to behave this week, because I want to know if she likes Mean Girl or not. I haven't made meatballs in years and years. I don't use the frozen ones, either, and just make a meat sauce when I make spaghetti. If I really want meatballs, I totally cheat, and buy Chef Boyardee, in the can. The sauce isn't all that good, I admit, but I think the meatballs are very good.

And I have no idea what's for dinner tonight, and frankly, m'dears, I don't give a you-know-what, ok? Probably just reheat the lamb/lentil stuff for the third time...I will be satisfied with that, and some bread and butter, I guess. I've been junking since I got home from work, and am really not hungry, even tho I know I need some real food. I really wish that junk food was healthier, sigh...I'm such a junk food junkie, and it sure does show...I really and truly need to lose a LOT of weight...such a hassle, sigh.

Oh, well, hope y'all have a good night, and that everybody has a good...and safe...Fourth tomorrow. God bless.

Evening everyone,

We had a very pleasant day up here on the mountain. The weather was nice, no rain like the weather man and map said so hopefully they are wrong about tomorrow also. Lacy went swimming at the bottom of the mountain all day with Megan and Michael was out running around with Christy most of the day, then they went back to her house to watch movies (her dad was home). So we only had Matthew and he helped me make these cookies for tomorrow that look like slices of watermelon. Then we made some pigs in the blanket and sausage-cheese balls. Jerry put together a cabinet for the kitchen so I can put all my cooking gagets on it and clean some counter space off. Boy life is easy with just one kid, no fussing or fighting over the TV or anything else.

Sounds like work was a real pain today Joyce. I'm sorry!! You will have to take control and teach those cooks how to work together. I'm with you, I like hot dogs about anyway you can cook them even right out of the package cold. My favorite way is to get a piece of bread, cover it in mustard, put a nice piece of velveeta cheese on it and melt it while the hot dog boils and then put the hot dog on the bread with potato chips and dill pickle spears on the side. I will be thinking about you tomorrow while I am eating a funnell cake and watching the fireworks and wishing you could be up here also. I know how you like the funnell cakes. It doesn't start until about 9:30 and you know you and E. are more than welcome to join us. I know you have to work but maybe if your not to tired you could talk E. into the drive. The Sonic was great, but then again I love that place. Where I grew up in Texas they had a Sonic and we use to cruise through there every weekend, it was on the cruising course.

Pag I thought Gina lived with you??? When did she move? Enjoy the Danish, sounds good. I've never been to BJ's but I have been to Sam's a number of times. We really like the Sam's frozen pizza and the price is really good on them also. I'm sure the boys will have lots of fun and come home telling ya'll all about the fireworks. I've never met a kid that didn't like fireworks, or an adult for that matter. I just love watching fireworks.

I'm going to play a game with Lacy so I'll talk at ya'll later.

Oh yea first has anyone heard from martie? I remember her saying she was having some trouble with her server didn't she? Hope her computer is not down and she is just busy.

Stacey how did Keith's surgery go?

Take Care,
mouse

First of all Mouse Gina has not moved anywhere. She just goes over to Kent's on Friday nite and comes home on either Sunday nite around 10-11 or around 9 on Monday morn. She generally checks in here for a bit on Sat and sometimes Sunday afternoon and IF she does not come here she is always calling checking up on IMP and Adam.

We cooked out a bit tonite here and toasted marshmallows, IMP liked the toasting part but did not want to eat them . But that is okay Granny ate his and hers.

Well, IMP is now asleep and Granny has some quiet time which she really needs. And she also is looking forward to tomorrow church (I hope) and then a peaceful afternoon and evening with the boys gone and just Judy and I here. I have some woodwork I want to get painted other than that nothing but "whatever". Wish Ihad more of those days/evenings but they are rare.

Take care and God bless all,

Morning all

How is everyone? We had a so so 4th. We went on River Street to watch the fireworks. They were sooo, sooo crowded and hot but we enjoyed it. We figured this was the last 4th that my son would enjoy at home for a while. When he goes to college next year he has to start in June for Football practice.

I'm glad everyone is getting along well.

Be blessed.

Hi to one and all of the Porch Gang. I would have loved to be on River Street crowd and all for the fireworks. BUT needless to say could not make the trip down there . But did have a good 4th all the same. Homemade Ice Cream thanks to Gina's boy friend. Fresh Corn on the Cob which I have to cut off but was good anyway.

Headed to Costco to pick up some more flooring so got to go for now. God bless all

Patti,

Now I'm jealous, I have an ice cream maker and haven't had the time to make any this season but I will soon because now you have made me want some. And homemade cream style corn is just the best with Fried chickend and blackeyed peas. My mother would want fresh tomatoes with salt and pepper and of Course a big old glass of Iced Tea for everyone.

Be blessed,

PS. Does anyone know of any good reasonable stores for furnitue in the ATL area? One of my daughter's friends is looking for some furniture and is trying to buy is by herself so she is on a limited budget. She has a car so she can drive anywear or ride Marta if need be.

Greetings Everyone!

Wow it's been so long since I last posted I don't know where to begin so in a nutshell here goes...hang on

Zach graduated from high school (proudest moment I can recall)...moved out with his dumb girlfriend and her even dumber mother... long story (worst moment I can recall)...had a fab time on the Memorial Day camping trip...work is crazy...my new house is being built in slow motion...celebrated 20th wedding anniversary...had a huge blowout celebration for the 4th of July on the lake...work is even crazier...and I am more unstable and undermedicated than before!!

Glad to see everyone posting! I read all of your posts even when I don't post myself.

Don't you just love summer?

Hey everyone!

I kinda' just skimmed through the last four pages. It looks like everyone had a nice 4th. We did, too. My parents brought the kids back on Friday and left before any of us got up Monday morning so they could get an early start back home. For our 4th dinner we had BBQd chicken, salad, corn from the field outside our yard and watermelon from the field down the way. OK, country living has taken some getting used to, but I really can't beat the free stuff!

As for Keith's surgery, it went well. He's still experiencing quite a bit of pain, but Keith isn't someone who has even minor aches and pains as a general rule, so I'm not so sure it is anything to worry over as of right now. Also, since it's in such a sensitive area for men, I am certain that only amplifies his wah-wah factor. Ok, I know that's not all that nice, but hey after having come home from the hospital after having the kids and cleaning and cooking with no recoup time plus having had a tubal ligation and coming home only to have him leave me with the kids for hours the very next day, I can only be so sympathetic for so long. Sheesh, I'm tierd of the whining!

Anyway, gotta' run 'tis getting late.
