Ok ditzy here's my tips for flying
1. get a window seat and look out at the beautiful white clouds and dream you are bouncing on them and laying on them and the world is as soft as those clouds look.
2. have 3 or 4 drinks before boarding the plane and then you won't care where you are.
3. sit next to a really good looking guy with a hot body and then your eyes will be glued on him and you will forget your on a plane.

You know I'm just joking. But really take some chewing guy and chew it as the plane takes off and lands, it will help keep your ears from popping so much.
Have a nice trip.

Ditzy, don't sit by the window. I used to, and then one time got stuck in an aisle seat, and was nowhere near as afraid as I had always been before. I despise flying, and have even been known to cry. If it's really bad, go to your doctor and ask him for some sort of medication, something that will either help you sleep, or just calm you down. I'd never thought about the water, either, that's a good idea. And chewing guys just might help...................snicker. My leg is completely healed, I will have to wear elastic stockings forever, and elevate the bad leg for 30 minutes at least once a day, forever, but it's a small price to pay for NOT losing my leg. That's so sad about New Orleans, makes me hurt for you about your beloved city.

Pag, I see I've been gone too long. You are actually moving again, right? That's rough, I'm so sorry to hear it.

Mouse, everybody else, hello. I'm behind, and not even going to try and play catch up, sigh. Sorry.

Things rock on here just aobut the same...work, sleep, work, sleep, I reckon y'all know the routine. Memorial Day was just another normal day off here, altho it was nice enough...went shopping, sat with the next door neighbor on the carport, stuff like taht.

Oh, about the Red Hat Society. Yes, you have to be at least 50 to be an actual Red Hat. Younger ladies are, I think, called Pink Hats, and they would wear pink hats and lavendar suits/clothes/shirts, whatever. Elizabeth can set y'all straight if I'm wrong.

And I'm sorry, but I don't really have any WH stories, things are going reasonably well lately, for which I'm grateful. My only complaint is that tips are down so much. Nobody seems to have the money they had a year or two ago, and business is down. Makes it rough.

I'll try to be here more often, but, I've said that before, I think, and haven't posted, so, I'll just talk to y'all later. God bless.

Just dropping by in between sorting/wrapping/packing. Unless things change will start the actual move tomorrow. Already have some boxes over there. My bathroom there will be pretty nice once Kent, Gina and I are thro' getting/doing this and that for it. Not sure what they are going to do with the tub in there it has 3 small holes in the side of it thus causing mold to go into "my" room on the wall but we have gotten rid of the mold and painted over the place and going to paper it. So I will still have my "green" paper just not the same one as in here but I still like it. More later friends and so glad to see you back Joyce

Red Hats and Other Silliness

Hi y'all! just finished 3 "rush" cases, have another one and expecting 3 more!! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!

If you are under 50, you can still join a Red Hat Society chapter - but you wear lavender outfits and Pink hats! We have a very dear Pink Hatter in our chapter, and she is wonderful! One of the pics on my msn space includes two Pink Hatters. To casual meetings, we just wear slacks, skirts or jeans, and a purple (or lavender) Tee, but to "formal" meetings the sky is the limit!! You should see some of the outfits at the national conferences! (Haven't been to one, just have seen pics.) I now have 6 different red hats or other red headgear!!

I'm considering taking a bellydancing course! I've been doing a little exercise onthe Schwinn in the basement, so I'm developing a little more stamina - for the moment. DD and DIL may join me, and so may a few of my Red Hat sisters! That would be sooooo much fun! Also a good way to get exercise. Silly? yes. Good for me? Yep! The ol' curmudgeon says for me to "go for it!" Maybe I'll lose some of that belly you can see in that pic of me with my hair down!! LOLOL!

Cheerio!

Hi ev1,
Joyce...good to see you back on again. I will have a seat in the aisle and not by the window..So sorry to hear the tips and customers are down in WH. I think it is due to the rising cost of gas. It sure is hurting a lot of people.

Patti...I know you are glad to finally be moving in and it will all soon be over quickly for you.
Do you have a Dollar Tree in your area? If so you should check out some of their items to decorate your house/bathroom. They have some great stuff for very reasonable prices. I just love that store..

ewriggs....good luck with the Red Hats Club. When I was working at the hotel they had a convention there last year...they filled up the hotel and kept us very busy which at the time I was grateful for.
Good luck with the exercise program you are starting.. I walk 4 miles a day here..hoping to lose some weight.. I have no choice but to walk cause I don't have a car and if I want to go into town it is 2 miles away. I am enjoying it anyway. It motivates me to work toward a goal. I just wished I had some one to walk with.
Well till next time ladies
Take care
Debbie

Yes we have 2-3 Dollar Trees near us. And I too like that store.
One truck load just went over to the house with Adam, James (friend of ours and a friend of his to) to unload and bring it back here.
I don't have any more boxes to finish packing GRRRR! but yes it is almost over the actual move but then got to clean this house up to rent it.
Plus put away all the stuff in new house lol. FUN FUN AND MORE FUN right? Back to work for me

Sorry ladies! I just realized I hadn't had a message in a couple of weeks and thought I'd check and see if anyone had posted. But it's bed time so I'm keeping this short. It was good to read up on what everyone has been up to.

The girls are Sarah 16, Savannah 14, Sandi 10, and Skylar 8. Yea to Matt on passing with such great scores! Homeschoolers don't have to take that particular test and Sarah is sort of a Sophomore/Junior/Senior. LOL! We've really taken some time away from actual studies so she is working to get "caught up" if you want to call it that and then it's up to her as to when she graduates. If she works hard enough, she can still graduate next May like she started off heading to do. Otherwise, it will be May of 2008 which by age is when she should. Her private school moved her up to start first grade a year early so she has always been younger than everyone else in her grade level at church or anywhere.

Sorry to hear about Lacey's ordeal. How scary for you and her both. I'll have to use that to remind my kids how careful we must be even in our own neighborhood. My younger two are just now into riding their bikes enough that they are riding just up 2 driveways and back to ours unless I'm walking with them and then they can ride as long as I can see them.

Well, heading to bed. Sorry about those I missed responding too but I keep getting interrupted and I'm ready for bed. LOL!

Night!
