Linnea, I wasn't insulted at all by anything you wrote. I think sometimes I'm just too hyper aware when ADD or ADHD gets mentioned, because I've so often had to war with words with my sister over it. I didn't mean to imply in any fashion that I thought you were overly negative, or anything else. ***HUGS***
I have to go...Mike's calling me for breakfast. Cherizo and eggs. YUM!

Thanks guys for the support you gave me. I was just down and depress and feeling like a failure as a mother. I'm glad I have you all here to help me through it. My sweetie and I sat up for a while last night and talked about alot and got through some of our issues but I still have a few more to deal with.
Mouse I could never be disappointed in you. I understand the need for extra money for SR expenses. David graduates this year too and I am looking over our budget and it will be tight. I tried to work a part time job too to help cover some of the expenses and it wore me completely out. I didn't have any extra time and on my days off I was too tired to do anything else.
Joyce I understand about training too. I have had horror stories you just wouldn't believe. But maybe this winter it will be a great set of people who really want and need to work.
Cassie, I apologize for not mentioning it early but welcome. These ladies are just great.
Ladies, I thought I may have ADD too but I thought it was just another sign of getting older. I start on project then my mind wanders off to another and I stop or I go get a drink and see something else to do. I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
Doris you are not alone by any means. I too am a bit on the ADD side. I do pretty well for the most part. But for sure can get sidetracked real easy. Now one of my daughters can not do anything with talking etc in the background has to have absolute silence GRRRR! And that is hard to do with 4 other people plus a dog in the house.
time again bye for now.

Thought for the Day

Not only plan, but also believe.
Doris NO WAY your a failure as a mother. Any mom that gets their kid through high school nowadays with plans to futher their education and that kid isn't addicted to drugs or alcohol is a success. A real big percentage of kids up here end up with a baby before their out of school (the school has a program now where the moms take the babies to school) but even stiill a lot of them end up dropping out. And drug use is a BIG problem up here starting in middle school. Two girls at the middle school got busted at the end of last year for selling oxycotton (sp) which I hear is a real addictive drug. I think the fact that your son is planning on going to college, passed his SAT's and the high school graduation test speaks volumns of the kind of parent you are and the involvement you have had in his life. I do understand how you feel though, with Lacy sometimes because of her actions and behavior makes me feel like the worst parent in the world but at least I have two boys to step back and look at and I can tell myself no I'm a good mom, Lacy is just a difficult child at times. I have to learn different ways to love her and deal with her. The things that worked with the boys doesn't work with her. Give yourself a pat on the back that your son has come this far in life in todays world and is still a good kid with values. I'm glad you were able to talk to your sweetie and feel better.
jiggly, Matt my youngest son is entering 10th grade this year also. I know your other son is 7, how old is your daughter? Sharon works at a law office some also, I think she works from home part of the time. That seems like such an exciting job.
martie great to see ya. Wow so they are going to limit the smileys we can use after giving us sooooo many to choose from . Are you still walking? The cooler weather soon should be nice.
Stacey I can't believe it, Lacy woke up this morning with a toothache, I called the dentist and nearly fell out of my chair when she said we could come in today at 3:45. That is where my extra money goes, all these unplanned things. It is an adult tooth and right in the front of her mouth so I figure it is going to be expensive whatever it is, probably a cavity. Have fun with the Red Hat Society and the Girl Scouts. I loved my scouting days with the Cub Scouts.
navy I can relate to you so much, the running around all day and then thinking What the heck did I get done? Or I go to town and run a few errands get all the way back home and realize I forgot to drop the mail by the post office or to pick up dog food. And we live about :45 min. from town so it is not like just running back out to do the forgotten chore. I have tried to make list and check things off lately and that helps if I don't lose the list somewhere along the way. I think it is cool the way so many of us are alike, scattered. Maybe that is why we relate to each other and understand each other so well.
Joyce sorry you had such a tough day at work and your new hours sound rough. Watch your back and legs and sit when your hurting. That is a great idea to write everything down that we spend to see where it is going, I think I will pick up a little notebook for Jerry and I both today while I am out. And yes I do want to change how much we blow or at least know where the heck it is going. ATM's are what kill us, we pull the money out and then it is gone.
Have a great day everyone. I have to go take a shower and head to town.
My two sons are 15 (almost 16) and 7. My daughter is 4 and she keeps me on my toes more than the boys did combined! I know what you mean about having to parent them different. Girls are much different. Even at 4 she can be sooooo moody!
I love my job - it is a great work environment and the work is interesting to say the least! My boss is the greatest ever - I couldn't ask for a better one.
My oldest son is very involved in church and does a lot of outreach and mission work - I'm so proud of him and let him know how fortunate I am as a parent to have such a great son with such good character, morals and values! We try to teach at home what they hear at church and just pray that it sinks in!
I also can relate to the constant running, forgetting what you are doing and just the general helter skelter way of doing things. Sometimes I just get sooooo tired... seems like I work all day, go home, cook dinner, homework with kids, laundry... housework... and the list goes on and on and on.... lol The only time I get any rest is when I'm sick and then I'm usually still running myself weary. Oh well - part of being a mom! For those of us working outside or inside of the home..
Well ladies - back to my job! Talk to you all soon!!!

Time to !! Today was Grey's 2nd day of school, and apparently he's been very, very good. Doing all his work, reading, homework... I'm so proud, I could
Don't you ever wonder if what is diagnosed as ADD/ADHD when we're young is senility as we get older? Just a thought. I'm OBVIOUSLY very tired...
I have lots of to do, but am wholly unmotivated to do any of it. What a surprise. I wonder if I can get away with catching a few ZZZzzzzz while Mike is still home?
Well, have a good day, all, unless I find something else to blabber at you about. Otherwise, I'll talk to you all tomorrow!

I ahve a big pray/ remembrance request. Ally starts school on Friday (5th grade). She always has a very hard time going back and she is scared and there are tears are both our parts. I have been really sick and I don't think I can handle the stress of worrying about her. Please pray that it goes smoothly!!!
Doris, I often feel like I am a failure as a mother. The other day several people told me that Ally was the most pleasant/well mannered child they had ever been around- so I should remember I could be worse! Hope everything is going better for you.
I'll post again later today. My mom and dad are intown at a hotel and I am to go and meet them ASAP.
Margaret YOU are also VERY special and don't you forget it. Will keep Ally and you in prayer. I always hated first few days of going back to school too. So can identify with Ally. Love and prayers to all

Linnea - I wlll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers today - going back to school is very stressful for some little ones and that is so hard not only on the child but on the parent too.
Ladies - I just need to vent - My husband is driving me CRAZY!!! He got sunburned on his back over the weekend and you would think the man was dying! I've had 3 kids, broken bones and back surgery and apparently didn't have as much pain as he has with this sunburn - UGH - Whine, Whine, Whine!!!
Why are they such babies?!?!?!?
Sorry - just had to get that off my chest!

Vinegar works really well on those sunburns - especially apple cider vinegar. Just soak a washrag and gently press it so the vinegar gets on the burn. You can also put some in a bath but that dilutes it and doesn't work as well.
And as Skylar told me when I had to do this about 4 years ago "I till mell it!" (She decided it stunk and was hiding under a blanket to try and get away from the odor.
