I just wanted to pop on and ask that you all keep praying for my nephew. Just when he seemed to have been improving he had some big set backs. He is now fighting infection and is still not off the vent or able to open his eyes. The whole family feels blessed by all of those out there praying and by the small miracles that have taken place so far. Also, it seems that from this tradgedy a new closeness has come over the family. It's terrible that such a thing had to happen for Keith's family to embrace everyone and really learn to love those around them, but never-the-less it is a blessing.
Thank you ladies for your support!

Stacey, so sorry to hear about Matthew's setbacks. He is still in my prayers. That's a nice looking house. You'll be able to do your vegetable garden and also flowers....such a nice big yard. The girls will have a ball playing out there. Yes, I'm trying to make a small craft area, but I'm doing it very slowly, lol. It' s gonna take me a couple months, I figure.
Mouse, that's good that the boys will help you with the English classes. You brought up a point that I'd forgotten about...all those danged rules, lol. Verbs are fun, too....when do you use lie-lay-lain-laid? Or sit-set-sat? I've forgotten ...mostly I was talking about helping with essays, altho I did ace the grammer and punctuation classes when I took them....many moons ago, sigh. Maybe I wouldn't be too much help after all, lol.
Pag, how are you feeling? I'm impressed by Gina, too. Like Mouse, I wouldn't have had any idea at all where to start.
Today is day number four of a four-day stretch at work, thank goodness, and I am off for the next four days. I am sooooo glad. My dgd is coming for the week-end, I think, and with any luck at all, we'll have a full-length futon for her to sleep on instead of the loveseat. She's just plain too long for the loveseat now, bless her heart, altho it doesn't seem to keep her from sleeping well on it.
E. did some more trash picking yesterday, and found an old clock. He took the works out of it, and put them into one he had made a few months ago, out of old computer discs. It is absolutely beautiful, and I'm trying to think of a way to convince him to make more and try to sell them. I would think they'd be worth at least $15-$20 each. He also found a dark wood picture frame, and used it to frame one of our wolf pictures...looks very nice. Now if I can just convince hiim that this is going to be THE perfect week-end to cut the plywood for my craft table....BUT, I also need him to move things around in the living room to make room for the futon, lol. Got him a regular honey-do list going, I do!! Everything will fall into place eventually, tho.
Martie, Kim, Linnea, Doris, Rose, Christy, Elizabeth, Navywife, Sharon, how are y'all doing these days? I hope you're all well and happy.
Time to get ready for work. God bless.

Hey All!
Remember me? I feel like I've missed so much and been gone so long! We've gotten moved across the mountain, closer to Helen now, work has been crazy and most of Nestor's family has been down with that nasty flu that turns into pneumonia. We've made 3 trips up to DC to help out over the last 2 months. I've been so busy with just plain life that I don't know if I'm coming or going.
I'm not going to promise to read all that I've missed, but I'll try to catch up. I've missed the front porch gang!
Be Good!
Sharon

Welcome back Sharon you have been missed too. Hope all the sick in your family have gotten better and will stay that way. IMP has been sick again but went back to school today. Happy for him and happy for me .
I have an appt with an ENT DR tomorrow morning to check out this Diviated Septum I have. Will let you know what he says about it. It is getting harder and harder to breathe anymore especially at nite. God bless all

Thought for the Day

Well, I'm back...and on the same day, too, lol! Got an unexpected chance to take the day off...serendipity! There were too many people scheduled today, due to lack of communication between management, all four of us showed up, and I very kindly offered to *help,* lol. I am off now until Monday. Ta-da! Soooo, everybody pray that I get those meds, and that I can work like crazy for the rest of them month, ok?
Hi, Sharon, it's good to see you back. You've had a rough couple months, so I hope things even out for you. Like Pag, I hope that all the ones that were sick are better, and that they stay better. Gee, if they do, what will you do with all your spare time now...tee hee????
Pag, I hope you have good results concerning the deviated septum. My mom had one, and she had an awfully hard time breathing, too. Seems like she had some sort of surgery to correct it, and she's ok now. I'm sorry IMP was sick, but glad that he's better now, and I know you're enjoying a little free time without him around. How is your stomach feeling, better? I sure hope so.
Mouse, I may work some more on the craft area this evening...after E. gets up from his nap. If it's a nice day tomorrow, I think I'll nag him to saw that piece of plywood for me, too. I'll cut him some slack today, tho, as he's already gotten the computer area moved so that we can get the futon in here. We talked to Sean...the cook selling it to us...and he and Emmitt agreed to get it over here Saturday AM, after we go and get Samantha. I hope she'll be comfortable on it. I still haven't seen it, but it has got to be better looking than the poor old love seat, and I imagine that if I don't like it, it won't be too hard to cover.
Guess that's all for now...think I'll go check out the frugal board...this is just soooo great...unexpected time to play on the computer!!!! God bless.

I have missed reading your posts. Everyone sounds so nice!
Pag, I sure hope the doctor can help you. You have had it rough for the last six months or so. So I hope they make you all better very soon!!! I am thinking and praying for you. Take care of yourself.
Stacey, I posted you a message but somehow I don't think it got on. Your new house looks so great! I am jealous of having a craft room. I love doing crafts too and I claim to be an artist , so I love doing artwork also. Your neighbors sound very friendly. that is so important. It makes alot of things nicer. I am praying for your nephew. Keep us posted on him please.
Joyce, glad you got the day off!!! Did E make your table yet??? You mentioned wolf pictures. Do you like wolves? We have have lots of wolf items. My husband, especially loves them and collects wolf things. I hope and pray you get your meds and all gets better!!!!
Hey Sharon!!! Sorry so much has happened in your life, but I am glad to see you back! Do you like your new home?
Mouse, I am still working. I am getting behind on my projects at home, but hate to quit. Work is the only place I can rest!! I love it there. The people are so nice andI enjoy talking with them and cutting up and all. I am taking another girl's shift this week so I have been working until 2. Have you started school yet? So happy to hear that Lacy is doing better. Yeah!
Stacy, I too am jealous of your craft area. I enjoy doing crafts. Your house sounds great! The girls are going to love the yard! Prayers go out to your nephew and the whole family. God works miracles!
Welcome back, Sharon & Linnea!
Has anyone heard from Christy lately?
Mouse, you have done soo well at school that I have no doubt you will do well this semester! We are all so proud of you.
Joyce, sounds like you had a good day yesterday! I always enjoy having time to "play" on the computer.
Martie, how are things going? Congratulations on the loss of inches! Don't be discouraged by the weight. Go by how you feel and how clothes fit.
Well, things are getting closer to our move. This week, we had to go to Fort McPherson and schedule our move. Tues will be DH last day at the squadron. He is taking a few weeks of leave and then will be headed up to Virginia. The girls and I will join him after school lets out. Lets hope that time flies!
I am glad that your dh is getting to take a couple weeks of leave with you all. Are you excited about your move? Have you found a place to live in Virginia yet? I wonder how you adjust so quickly to moves. My dh might get a new job before too long and I get depressed thinking about moving. I didn't want to come here and hated it at first, now I have finally made friends and feel like I fit in. Now I like it. So the idea of having to start all over again scares me. How do you do it? We will all have to visit you and Patti in VA one day. Ga girls- how about a road trip?
Thanks for welcoming me back navywife. I missed ya!
Wow! I didn't realize it had been 9 days since I've checked in over here on the porch. It's good to see Sharon back and that everyone pretty much seems to be doing well. Stacey, I'll keep praying for you nephew. The house looks really nice and with all that land around! WOW!
We've been doing well, just busy as usual. I did see my ob/gyn this week. He drew blood for a thyroid test but doesn't appear very concerned about the other items I questioned about. He may be waiting for those test results to come back before saying much though. He did say if I'm losing inches the pounds are sure to follow if I just keep up what I'm doing. This week I added some walking with another friend. We went to Southlake Mall on Thursday and Friday and we are supposed to meet at Stone Crest Mall on Tuesday. We walk for a good 30 minutes at a pretty good speed. I was really sweating Friday by the time we finished. I'm hoping the extra cardio work will help some.
Monday Natalie is out of school for MLK day so we are going to work out and then go to the Dekalb Farmer's Market. I've been hearing from a couple of friends that go about once a month that the meat is much better and the fruits and veggies last much longer when they buy them there. Oh, Natalie wasn't on crutches or anything. She is required by the college to wear dress shoes to the school while student teaching and she has weak ankles so is thinking she isn't getting good support in the dress shoes. Last semester she only had to wear them twice a week but this semester it's every day and that's the biggest difference. She will have to find a very sensible pair of shoes that look dressy OR take in a note from her doctor. Of course, this is a requirement from the college, not from the school where she is working. Which to me is rather dumb.
Well, it's time to go buy groceries. I'll try to check in more often. For some reason I overlooked my last e-mail and so hadn't received one in a week.
Hope ya'll stay warm and have a great weekend!!
