Stacey I will continue to pray for you and your family. My hope is that you and Keith will continue to grow and nurture together for many years. You are a courageous young woman to go through what you have over the past few months and remain strong and optimistic. Many blessings to you!

Stacey what wonderful news about you and Keith. I bet the children are really happy that Mommy and Daddy are together again.

But oh what sad news about his brother's son. I will keep all in prayer.

I hope he finds housing fast for you and the children to be able to go soon and be a whole family again. Take care and God bless,

Good morning all,

Happy New Year to all. I hope and pray that everyone had a safe and happy New Year's celebration.

I see everyone is busy getting life together after the holidays and that's great.

Stacey your family is in my prayers both for the good and the not so good.

The weather is funny lately. Monday is was 81 degrees outside. Today is was 32, go figure.

I also work for H R & Block during the tax season so this is my busy time of the year. There are a lot of new and exciting thing going on so be careful.

Be blessed,

Doris

First of all, Stacey.....(((((((HUGS)))))))....and know that your nephew Matthew, and his family, is being prayed for. I checked out the site you linked, and he's a little doll...so are the other two kids, too. And, my deepest sympathy to Keith for the death of his dgf...grandparents are so special. On a more cheerful note, tho, I'm glad that you and Keith are going to reconcile, and I hope you have a long and very happy life together.

Ok, good afternoon, Front Porch Gang!! I hope everyone is having a Terrific Thursday...I am! The bed is made, the bathroom has been swished and swiped, I am dressed to the shoes, the dishwasher has been run but now there are a few dirty dishes in the sink...tsk(Martie, I won't tell on you if you won't tell on me, lol), and dinner is in the crock-pot! TA-DA!!!!!! I even peeled and chunked the potatoes for mashed potatoes, and they're in the refrigerator, covered with cold water, ready to go on the stove. In a little while, I'm going to fix a couple sandsiches, and veg out in front of the TV...HGTV, FoodTV, Discovery, Travel, and TLC...I watch about five shows at a time, and it TOTALLY drives Emmitt nuts....snicker.

I am off for the next four days. This makes my body want to do the Snoopy Dance, but it makes my wallet want to cry, lol. Cheryl scheduled me for M-T-W-Th, I made it thru Wednesday, and today I am still in misery...yesterday at work I just about cried. She told me that the reason she did it was to get me off on F-S-S, the busiest days, and so that Wendy and Kisha, the two strongest(faster, younger...works for me, lol)servers could work those days. IF I can find a doctor to prescribe pain meds, then I could do the four days, and take off three, and would really like it. So I guess I need to find a medical doctor, huh? Tomorrow I'll go see Dr. and darlin' Daniel, for the first time in three weeks, because the holidays screwed everyone up. That will help some, I know.

Doris, do you like working for H & R Block? I've always had the utmost respect and admiration for anyone who can do the more complicated taxes...I'd be clueless. My own are no problem, and I've been doing them since my first job, at 16, but some of those forms are outrageous. Try not to work too hard, and to get some rest and relaxation, hear?

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry you had such a bad FMS flare-up. Do you use a cane to help walk while you're coping with it? I use one now unless I'm working, and it really helps...it helps me keep my balance, and also takes the weight off my right hip and knee somewhat. I hope you're feeling better now. How was your Christmas? Yesterday's AJC had quite an article in it about the Orthodox Christmas, and it seems that there a lot of Orthodox people...many different nationalities...in the Atlanta area. Until you posted about your Christmas being different than mine, I'd never heard of it. I had heard of Twelth Day, but never realized what it was actually about. Thank you for educating me. Come to the WH whenever you can, we hope I"ll still be working there, lol. Just call ahead and make sure I'm working, ok? 770-819-8910

Martie, good luck making all those Eeyore blankets, lol. I love all the Pooh characters, but I think Tigger is my favorite...he's just so bouncy and happy. I'm not really patient enough to do that much cross-stitching. Years ago, I did do a huge cross-stitched table cloth, but it took me over ten years to do it. By the time I finished it, it was already turning yellow, and antique-looking, lol. I loved it, it was beautiful, and darned if I didn't lose it somehow!!! Yes, I'll turn the milkcrate sideways. I already have a whole wall of them for storage, plus some in the livingroom for books and tapes, and out on the carport, too...*ghetto* decorating, but it works, and they were free!! I've made my own Control Journal, but it just sits and gathers dust, lol. My *Office in a Bag* is a folding file envelope in my desk drawer, and I use one wall calendar, and one book-style desk calendar. The two of us really don't need one as big as the FlyLady one, but I would've loved it when my kids were little.

Kim, what a GREAT Christmas bonus...I've never had anything that nice, either, and don't have room for it here, anyway. You will enjoy it for a long, long time...actually much more than a monetary bonus, I think, don't you? I've been to organizedhome.com many times, and love all their forms, but right now my printer doesn't work. Plain notebook paper seems to do a pretty good job, tho. Have you ever checked out www.getorganizednow.com They even have message boards over there, and the women that post there come up with challenges for each other. It's kinda neat!

Mouse, how are all your sick ones doing? How about yourself? I hope you haven't caught it from any of them. Did you get started back to school ok?

Pag, have you ever posted any of your test results yet? Have I missed them? I've been wondering about you...

Navywife, Sharon, Christy, Rose, Hooya....hello to all of you. How are ya'll doing?

Time for lunch....God bless.

Hey guys how's the porch doing today? Really cold up here and suppose to maybe be ice by morning.

First off Stacey that is just really cool that you and Keith are going to get back together. I am so happy for you and the girls. I know they are dancing around the house to have you and their daddy back together. I am sorry to hear about Keith's granddad. I went to the site and read all about Matthew, that is just so terrible. I copied and sent along the story to a lot of my e-mail friends and asked for their prayers, hope you don't mind. And Joyce is right he is just cute as a button, all three of the boys are.

Things have been really crazy up here today. The manhunt they have going on for that Jerry Jones and the murders in Gordon County happened about 2 or 3 miles down the road from us, not on our mountain but right off the highway. The little girl Brittany that he took was in Fairmount Elementary with Lacy last year and most everyone at the school knew Brittany cause she was so tall, nice also but with her height she stood out. Lacy is very upset as that is all that was talked about at the middle school, high school and even my school today. The news cameras from nearly every news station you can imagine and helicopters were in Ranger most of the day. This morning about 7:00 while taking the boys to school a number of police cars flew past us with lights and all and I told the boys then "man something big must of happened we don't ever have this many police over here." We all went on to school and within an hour word had spread everywhere. That is so sad cause stuff like this just doesn't happen in our little town. Please keep the family in your prayers and pray that they find the 3 girls before he hurts them.

I started school yesterday Joyce, my data processing class is really easy it is mostly keyboarding right now. I typed 70 words a min. today, couldn't believe it but the computer program kept challenging me did I want to try and do it faster and it was like a game taunting me so I kept clicking yes till I hit 70 words. I had no idea I could type that fast. The English class is going to be tough but I think I will learn a lot in there, I really like both my teachers. There is no homework in the data processing class but LOTS of homework in the English class. I take data processing Monday--Thursday 10:30-1:00 and English Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 AM till 10:30. I am sorry to hear your knee is still giving you fits. I hope the Dr. and darling Daniel were able to help you today. We are having mashed potatoes for dinner tonight also, that and roast but I didn't get my roast in the crockpot this morning so I just threw it in the oven. Sounds like my kind of day though vegging out in front of the TV. Everyone seems well now except Jerry and he still can't kick that junk. Enjoy your days off.

Kim that was a wonderful Christmas bonus and will be so nice as the boys grow up and get married and bring their spouses and kids over for holiday meals. You have a really good boss that knows when she has a really good employee.

Doris we have some weather headed your way so look out. It is so cold that the Savannah river may freeze over. LOL!! I know you are fixing to be really busy cause my friend use to work for H&R Block and I hardly ever got to see her the first of the year cause when she wasn't working she was TIRED.

hey Pag how is life going your way? I sure miss the stories about IMP and life at your house. Come sit on the porch a little more often if you can find the time. Thanks for the recipes and mad maxine jokes.

navy how are you and the girls holding up in all this sickness going around and the cold weather? Hopefully all is staying well. Is Beth still enjoying her school?

martie how is the working out later in the day going?

Time for dinner, see ya'll later.

blushing Forget me?

Hello. I hope you all haven't forgotten about me. I haven't read all your posts, not even a couple of pages. But I will. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are getting back into the swings of things.

I have been out of town for the holidays and I got back this past Monday. I have been busy trying to get my house back in order and all unpacked and washed, etc. I spent lots of time with my M-i-l and helped my parents unpack in their new house.

Mouse, I thought about callingyou today( If I have your #) to see if that all was happening near your house. I knew you lived close by. I read your post about it. I know it was upsetting to the lkids at school and the news trucks and helicopters scary. I can't believe he wrecked in Chattanooga. I have passed that way a million times.

I have missed you all and hope you are well. I will read up about you all. Sorry Elizabeth sbout your FMS flare up. I know about them and they are not fun. Hang in there. Call if you need someone to talk to. I found your Christmas card that fell between the seats in my car and never got mailed . Christy, I mailed them while I was on the road and didn't have your address. Sorry, I was thinkin about you tho!
Missed my GA buddies!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR! linnea

The recovered the kidss and the guy is in Knoxville Hospital with a self inflicted gunshot wound. I'm glad those kids were recovered and hope they don't have to deal with much more. Their mother, grandparents and baby sister were killed in all this. How very sad. I know this must be so tough on those kids at school who know these kids.

Working out later is working fine for me so far. I'll be okay with it until Natalie is finished teaching the end of the year. Then we get to go around 8:30 or 9:00 through the summer. Sarah really likes that we are going in the afternoons right now. LOL! She detests mornings slightly more than I do.

I had my weight and measurements taken today. My weight is back to where it was when I started. UGH! However, my total inches lost since October 8 is now up to 17"! WOOHOO! I have my appointment on Wednesday to go to they Gyn and I plan to talk to him about testing my thyroid. After talking to Dr. B today (my chiropractor) I learned I have 2 classic symptoms of thyroid problems and have had them most of my life.

Natalie took the kids from her student teaching class out to meet the buses this afternoon and was talking to a student and so didn't realize it had been raining and sprained her ankle and all but fell in front of a bus. She said she must have looked like she was in a pinball machine the way she kept bouncing off cars and stuff trying to keep from falling. Needless to say she didn't meet me to work out this afternoon but she is coming tomorrow just to have her measurements taken for the month. If you think about it, pray for her ankle to heal quickly. She used to have a lot of problems with this but since she started to the chiro and then working out this is the first incident which is GREAT for her.

Well, I need to go. I have recipes to type and I really wanted to get to bed earlier tonight. I have an appointment to get a new windshield in my truck tomorrow morning and then I plan to finish typing this cookbook before I go work out at 3:30 tomorrow.

Night!

linnea my good buddy so good to hear from you. I hope your holidays were great. Hey I didn't know you were so close to me when you go to TN. It is only about a 45 or so minute ride up there. We are up around Ringgold Rd. a lot cause they have an A&W and a Uncle Buds catfish place right up there. We love Uncle Buds. Ok that settles it next time your in TN we just have to meet somewhere. Glad you had a safe trip there and back home. Was Ally ready for school to start back yet? Michael was but my other two wanted a longer holiday.

martie it was the aunt (the mother's sister) that was killed not the mother. The mother was in Organ with her boyfriend. He called the mother (his ex) after he killed her family and told her what he had done and told her if she called the police he would kill the girls one by one. She got into town this evening and is probably at the hospital with the girls now, they were going to keep them overnight. That is really scary to think he was somewhere in the N. Georgia area all this time and was spotted on the outskirts of Ga. and chased into TN. but there are so many places and back roads and mountain roads up here that someone could hide for a long while before being caught if they wanted to.

night all,
mouse

Allyson didn't want to go back at all. and was quite upset the first am, but she seems okay now. Steve is the head Wrestling coach for the Vidalia and is gone bunches to practices, matches and tournaments. He has one tonight and tomorrow in Warner Robbins. We were going to go but I am tired and hate the idea of having to travel again so soon.

Martie, remember muscle weighs more than fat, so you must be getting muscles!
Everyone have a great day!!!!!!linnea
