HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!

Hope everyone is doing well today and staying warm.

Kelly, the kids around here love to go to Scaley Mountain to snow tube. Costs around $21 for 2 hours but they enjoy it and come home exhausted. We had a trip planned for Feb. 4 but they called and canceled due to warm weather. Of course, that was the weekend things finally cooled down again. LOL! I think Savannah will be going with friends this weekend though.

Navy, good to see you pop in again. I know what you mean about wishing it would slow down. But when you look ahead, all you see is a little slow bump in the road and then it's back to busy!

Nothing really going on here today. Still trying to get my voice back. I have times where I can actually be heard now. LOL!

Joyce, I have a couple of books I hope to put in the mail to you soon. One I read over the weekend. Maybe by the time I actually get to the post office I'll have a couple more.

Well, better get my crew busy on school and myself on cleaning this nasty house!

HAPPY
VALENTINE'S
DAY!!!

Martie,

I do believe you have given me this creeping crud stuff. It sure is going around here big time. Emma's on meds, Meg's on meds, I'm on meds, & Keith needs to be on meds. We all sound like a bunch of fog horns. I have been meaning to write you an email, but between illness and busy days haven't had the down time. Maybe I'll just call you when your voice comes back...lol.

We've had a couple of days with snow flurries here but nothing is sticking this far south in NC. Can't wait to be laying around in the sun this time next year!!!!!!!

Joyce, I have a bunch of books that I would be more than glad to send to you. What's your interest? I do not currently have any Christian fiction/romance, but I have regular romance, some mystery, a few detective, and some thrillers I think. Let me know. If you want them all I can do that, too.

Keith still hasn't set up my scanner. He keeps saying he'll get "a round tuit!" Uh-huh right!!! Guess I'll have to start fumbling around with it so he gets on the ball.

Anyway, I gotta' run. So many things to do so little time to do them.

Hey, Navy, good to see you! Got any snow up there? I've seen some flakes this year, but that's about it. Pretty sure Mouse got some, tho.

Stacey, thanks. All donations gratefully accepted, lol. I'll read just about anything as long as it's not too smutty, y'know? Romance is cool, mysteries are cool, detective stuff, but I"m not cool with any kind of horror, anything scary...I didn't care for "Flowers in the Attic," for instance, or anything, well, scary, lol. I fully admit to being a total coward!!!! Complete with nightmares!!!! But, when you get right down to it, I reckon beggars can't be choosers, right?? lol Did you manage to convince Keith to take some meds? I sure hope y'all are better now, it's so hard when the whole family is sick.

Martie, thank you for your kind offer, also.

Now, do either of you want me to send you something for the postage? It's the least I can do, after begging, lol.

I had to leave for almost two hours, so now it's getting late, so forgive me if I just go ahead and say "see y'all later." Hope all of you have a good Friday, and a great weekend!!! God bless.

Hi again!

Boy has it been a crazy week. It started last
Sunday. Terry's sister called and said their aunt (their mom's sister) was in ICU. She choked and although her dh did the Hiemilich and CPR, she was unconscious and the EMT's couldn't bring her around either. She has been in DeKalb Medical all week. The decision has been made, due to her Living Will, that tomorrow they will begin "Withdrawal of Care" procedures. It's been really tough on all of us. My dh's family is VERY tiny and close so I think we feel this even more, like an immediate family member.

Joyce, I am pretty certain I won't get books mailed this week since I know at some point we will be dealing with Funeral arrangements, etc. However, I will try to get them out the following week.

My voice finally came back. Thursday was much better and although I still sound a little froggy, I can yell when I need to. LOL!

So, Stacey, give me another week to deal with this family stuff and I should be good to talk. LOL! The best day to call will be a Tuesday or Thursday but I'll check my calendar and let you know more after this week.

Savannah spent the night with friends and did the snow tubing thing today. She said she froze but it was fun. I picked her up at 8:30 and drove to Hobby Lobby for a skein of yarn I need to finish this baby blanket. However, they close at 8:00 so I'll have to try again this week to get that so I can finish. I immediately need to get started on the blanket for my cousin's baby and another friend who is due in May.

Well, it's getting late and I need to head to bed. I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday morning and it's time for more pain killer and bed so I can move tomorrow.

Evening Ladies,

Well it has been a crazy 10 or so days. On the way to Texas for Jerry's grandmothers funeral we got a phone call and his uncle on his dad's side passed away. So we attended his grandmothers funeral on the 9th, his uncles on the 10th. Got home on the 12th and on the 13th the developers brought a check by with the earnest money and we are to close in 30 days on the house and then they have given us 30 days after closing to be out. On the 14th my sister called and my dad is in ICU, his blood pressure dropped down to almost nothing and they can't figure out why. They have gotten it up to 108 over 59 now and have moved him to a room but after many, many test they still have no answers. So that catches ya'll up with me.

Martie and Stacie so sorry to hear ya'll and your families have been sick, hope everyone is feeling better. martie so sorry to hear about Terry's mom's sister, deaths in the family are always so hard.

Joyce we have gotten a little snow this year but not nearly enough and not enough to make a decent snowman.

navy and Lee it was really good hearing from ya'll.

Kelly did ya'll get up to Boone NC to do any tubing? Sounds like a lot of fun. Our kids are out for Presidents Day also but we aren't doing anything but packing.

Ditzy, Pag, rose, linnea, Kim and Sharon hope ya'll are staying dry and warm.

Time for bed so goodnight all.
hugs,
mouse

Debbie, congrats on your son and family moving closer! I know they'll enjoy it too.

Mouse, sorry about the crises in your family. That's a lot to deal with and then to be moving on top of it all. SHEESH! Good luck with all the packing.

Terry's aunt died yesterday afternoon at 5:00 just minutes after the respirator was removed. She had a living will so they knew her wishes which did make the decision easier but it was still tough to do. The viewing will be this Friday and the funeral on Saturday so her many co-workers can attend. They also had me get information on where people could make a contribution in her memory that would go to help fund research for Type 1 Diabetes since her brother also has it.

Well, I need to run. I have TOPS and all my regular stuff to do today on top of cleaning my nasty house (it's so much worse since I wasn't feeling well). I hope each of you has a wonderful week!

Wouldn't we all love to find that pot of gold?!?!?!?! And sure we would, lol!!!

Mouse, I'm so sorry to hear about more deaths in the family, and about your dad's sudden unexplained illness. So scary for you, I'm sure. And I'm still so upset for you and your family for having to leave your home like that. It just is NOT right, dang it!!!

Martie, I'm glad you're better, and that your voice is back, but I'm sorry to hear about the death in your family, also. Don't worry about the books, just do what you ahve to do right now, hear?

Ditzy, I'm glad you're excited about having a little one in the house again. I don't think I could deal with it, lol.

Not much to say, except...Praise God and drumroll, please...my leg is healed! I went to the wound clinic again today, and it was my last visit. The nurses put another dressing on the sore, but said it is for protection only, as the new skin there is so sensitive and fragile. This dressing is to stay on for a week to ten days, and then use my own discretion as to whether or not I want to put another one on, but they think that the compression stocking will be protection enough. I can't dance any more, because of my back and hips, but y'all can do a quick Irish jig in my honor, ok? LOL So, looks like, with the weight loss and the fact that the horrible looking varicose veins are normal again, IF the discoloration in the general area goes away, I will be able to wear shorts in public again, for the first time in more years than I can remember! Ta-da!!!

And on that cheerful note, I'm going to go cook dinner: ground turkey gravy, boiled potatoes, and canned French style beans. Easy, cheap, and good, lol. God bless.

Hey Ladies,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am down here in Florida for a short stay - we had bank business that had to be in person.

I will be having surgery when I get back to Fayetteville. No idea exactly when (haven't scheduled it yet - waiting on insurance authorization), but sometime in March. I am having a tonsillectomy, uvulectomy, deviated septum correction and some interior resculpting in my nose. Darn the luck all the fixes are gonna' be on the inside where no one will be able to admire my "nose job"....LOL! Keith is just happy I'll feel better and, hopefully, stop snoring!

Anyway, TTFN! More news when I have it.

PS - Joyce, congrats on the healed sore - I know you must feel better!!!!
