Yep, LeighAnne, we have plans. Since I am "the mom" everyone is heading to our house for a cook out. Hope our modest home can hold everyone! The weather is supposed to be in the upper 70's with mostly sunshine, so maybe we can be outside most of the time. My babysitting baby will be here, too.
Her mom is a nurse in the ICU unit of the hospital, and she has to work tomorrow. I think the dad decided to work because momma won't be there to care for the baby! Camryn is only 6 weeks old, and has been fussy, and wanting to be held a lot. I'll have lots of help with holding her tomorrow!

Thank you Patti! You are such a sweetheart and I am so sorry to hear about Marylu and about GIna. Please keep me posted and I will pray for them and you too, of course.

Leigh, that is really neat that you live in Soperton! Are you from there? I go thru Soperton bunches getting to I-16! How did you find this group? I have known them for awhile now - I just don't have a lot of computer time unfortunately. I am very glad to know you. We will have to get together.

Dianne, it is also great to meet you. I will have to read some old posts to learn more about you and Leigh.
I have one child, she just turned 11( I had her when I was 16!!!- haha). I love gardening, decorating, crafts , am youth minister at my church and I suffer from fibromyalgia.
( that is alittle about me).

How is everyone? I really miss you all. Mouse, our friends moved to Rome with out us on Saturday. We helped them move and I was so tired. Their uhaul was too small and we have lots of their things stored all around our house. We will be visiting them soon , so we can get together, okay?

Joyce, I am sorry you are having trouble emailing me. I am just so happy that you haven't forgotten me. Try megsod1@msn.com. How are you doing?

Hey everyone!! Miss you.

linnea, I guess you could say I married into Soperton, my husband is from here. We met over at East Ga. College in Swainsboro, where I grew up. We live about two miles from I-16. I think I found this website through a yahoo search, although I dont remember what I was doing the search on. I am not sure where I posted first, but I got a PM from pag36, inviting me to come over and check out this board. Thank you pag36!!!!

There is not too mcuh to tell about me right now. I am a stay at home mom, but that is going to change when school starts back. We have been homeschooling, but are ready for the children to go back to school. I feel like its getting to the point where they will benefit more from someone other than me. I am going back to school myself. Getting used to this new routine is going to hard for me, but I think it will be wonderful at the same time. Oh, and I just turned thirty, on May 13th, Fri, the 13th ..............

I am still trying to get to know everyone here myself and enjoying reading posts so I can be a better participant in the discussion here.

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day!!!! We have yet to make any definate plans ...........

Hi everyone,

Good hearing from so many. It was really good seeing you linnea and hearing about how things are going. You know I would love to get with you when you come to Rome so give me a call. How is Aley liking her summer? Where does she stay while you work?

leigh glad ya'll got to make your trip and happy your daughter is feeling better already. What are you planning on studying when you go back to school?

Pag I am sorry about Marylu and hope she will recover soon but it is good you found a new place to stay so quickly. Maybe while you are down there you can go visit your friends Harry and Marylu.

Dianne we are cooking out also but it is just our family and Michaels girlfriend. We are going to have barbecue chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and a flag shaped cake. We were suppose to have a big cook-out at the lake at the bottom of the mountain with about 25 people coming to celebrate Michael's graduation but then we realized it was a holiday and with familys visiting so many out here there would have been about 40 people so we canceled it until next Saturday otherwise there would not have been enough food to feed the masses. It is raining off and on today so Jerry put up a big overhead tarp/tent cover thing we have so if it starts raining again we won't get wet.

Well I hope everyone has a great holiday. I best get back in the kitchen and finish the deviled eggs there done boiling now.

later,
mouse

Yes Mouse I hope to be able to visit with them I just pray by then she is home. They are such great people. Oh the reason I found another place so quickly is because the one who wrote me the letter ended up at a dinner with her and was telling about Harry etc and then started talking about who all was planning on coming for reunion and of course she thought of me and one thing led to another. Eleanor and I were not the "hang out together" type but always liked her so things will be fine. I am just so worried about Marylu will keep you posted.

Going to lay down a bit just came up from fixing stuff for later tonite. We will toast marshmallows too which IMP loves to do but does not want to eat them so of course Granny does lol.

Good morning all,

Good to hear from everyone! Sounds like everyone had a good Memorial Day. Mouse and Dianne, I can smell those burgers cooking! There is nothing I love better than a BIG cookout with friends and family! Those are some of my best childhood memories and I enjoy creating those special times for my son and my niece and nephews as well. We always had family gatherings on 4th of July complete with homemade ice cream, watermelon and fireworks. What fun!

Leigh...seems we have something in common. A SIL that I would rather spend less time with than more! I have one SIL that I love dearly and one that I prefer not to be around. She is a new SIL (my husbands brothers newest wife) I get so annoyed at my husbands family. I told my MIL the other day how lovely it was that SIL had been in this family for less than a year and she is calling all the shots. Everything we have every done is out the window and has to be conformed to what SIL thinks. GRRRR...I know I have never mentioned this before ladies but it has been heavy on my mind lately. I even find myself avoiding family functions lately because of my BIL and SIL. That is not the way I am. She is really driving a wedge between my son and his cousins. We have always had a close relationship with the children but things have changed lately. Oh well, I could go on about this for hours. Thanks for listening. I needed to vent.

I am thinking of each and eveyone of you today.

Need to get busy. Have lots to do before I go to work this evening. More later friends.

Kelly

Hey, everybody, Happy First Day of June...another brand-new month here. And IF my calculations are right, I should be getting a vacation check this month instead of having to wait until August. The one good thing that WH does for its employees is to give a third vacation check after ten years of service, instead of two. So I should get one now in June, October, and February. I think. I hope, lol.

DGD is here until tomorrow afternoon. Her birthday was the 20th of May, she turned 13. Funny how the kids grow older, but we don't, eh? Anyway, she told me about an hour ago she was bored, so I handed her her birthday present...all the change I've been saving now for over a month(ok, ok, so I didn't give her my quarters, lol. Those are MINE, dagnabit!), and told her she could have however much was there, but she had to roll it!!!! So, she has been busy, and quiet, for a little over an hour now, lol. When she gets thru, she'll have about $20, so I'm going to hand her four five-dollar bills and keep the change. I can cash it in later. Kind of a hateful birthday gift, I suppose, but hey, it's keeping her occupied, lol.

Linnea, I copied down your email address, and will try and email you later. Of course I haven't forgotten you, silly girl!!!!

Work was slow Monday and Tuesday, but I made *enough* money to satisfy me between the two days. Maybe Friday we'll pick up a little...the holiday weekend is over.

Leigh, I sure hope your daughter is ok. My first thought about the throat was that she had strep, and I'm so glad she doesn't. That's such nasty stuff.

Ok, my dgd is reading over my shoulder, lol...she just read about the quarters. LOL LOL Anyway, I'm leaving y'all for now, and hope y'all have a good week and a great new month. God bless.

Hi everyone,

I'm with you Joyce, can't believe it is June already! Wow, just got my Christmas tree down not long ago Will be time to put it up again soon.

Joyce...glad to hear the WF is treating you good on your vacation time. CVS does pretty well with that too. I'm not sure exactly how it works but it is based on amount of years you work and how many hours you work in the year. This year I have close to 2 weeks vacation because I only work an average of 30 hrs. per week.

No plans for our vacation yet. Hubby has some big projects coming up this summer at work. He has to be there for them. So we are trying to see when he and I can be off at the same time.

Alex and his grandma are having a good time in FL. I talked to them yesterday. I think the weather has been bad but it has cleared off enough each day that the boys can swim in the pool for several hours each day and go to the beach. Those are the only requirements for a successful vacation according to Alex!!! Swimming , swimming, and swimming!! I do miss the little booger despearatly though. It sure has been quiet around here.

Hope everyone has a great day,
Kelly

ALIVE AND WELL IN ALABAMA

Greetings Georgia Peaches!

Just a quick note to let ya'll know we are still here! The house is coming along wonderfully. We should close on the loan in 2 weeks and hopefully be in it by end of June! WOW! It has gone so quickly I haven't been able to keep up with it in pictures. I was taking shots of each stage but now it moves so fast I miss it! LOL Not complaining though!

I have truly missed each and everyone of you and please know that not a single days goes by that I don't think of you!

I wish I had time for more but I have to get back to work...and not get caught doing this...hehehe

Have a wonderful week!

Pssst...HELLO LADIES!

I know it's been forever since I've been here, and I'm sure you all thought I was lost forever. But, I'm alive and kickin'. Still living in Beaver Dam -- or as I like to call it Living H$#%! Going to go over to post tomorrow and stick our names on the list. Right now the wait is 2-8 months so even at the longest Keith will be back when we come up for housing. I just CANNOT live out here in the sticks any longer.

Things have been moving right along here. Emma is now in therapy for some behaviorial modifications related to her ADHD and I am going for my first appointment to be tested & diagnosed for ADHD myself. Kate will be screened for dyslexia and possibly CAPD later on in the summer and Meg is doing just fine.

We no longer have our dog. Had to send him to a shelter he was just too much for me by myself as he'd gotten to be about 80 lbs and kept getting out of the yard and playing in traffic. So, the girls are now proud owners of 3 gerbils, Beebee, Ceecee, & FeeFee. And, we are trying our hand at raising Sea Monkeys! We're even contemplating a Betta fish, too.

So, as you can see we are keeping busy. I hope everyone is doing well as I haven't read all the posts I missed and I probably won't be able to anyway.

TTFN!
