Here I am! The surgery went really well and again my chest is hurting worse than my arm right now. I'm sure that will change soon enough but I'm not giving the drugs time to wear off so my arm isn't hurting. I'm typing with one hand again but I do much better with my right hand than I did my left!! I'm still woozy but feeling much better. I'm taking 2 percocets every 4 hours so I'm not hurting yet I am running a slight fever but I think I did that last time too so I'm not too worried yet. I'm finally alone! Yippee! Ronnie took this week off and he went shopping for a hot tub (yea!!!!) so I'm alone for a few hours and wouldn't ya know I'm spending most of it sleeping! I had to get up and eat and pop some more pills and the computer was calling my name!!!

Pag, what kind of nose surgery did you have? I've had to have tumors removed form my sinus cavities twice and once they fixed a deviated septum (who even knew I had one of those much less a messed up one?) None of the surgeries helped and I'm still on oxygen but I contributed to the Doctor's trennis court fund.

OK Stacey, I am so so lost. Maybe it's the drugs but can you tell me, in a nutshell, how you ended up in NC? I knew you weren't doing well in FL and were unhappy but then what happened???

I hope everyone else is doing well.... off to bed with me!

I just went and checked the site for my nephew. They have now removed his trach! He is breathing on his own completely. Hopefully, we'll see some more big time advances now. I know that after him saying those few words our whole family is anxious for the next big step. Thanks for your concern, ladies!!!

Good afternoon, Gang! Cloudy and 56º here, but hey, it's not raining, so it could be worse. I did my stretches this morning, and then later E. and I did our walk-a-bout in the yard. It was only a 12 minute one, but E. said that I had done it faster than usual, so maybe it's time to start going around the whole area twice now, instead of just once. Yesterday at work, I am so pleased to tell y'all this, I felt pretty good up until about 7PM...that's five hours into the shift...and realized later that the only thing that had really hurt too badly was my hips. Ladies, this is progress! I really wanted to share that with y'all, because y'all have listened to me whine so much, lol. I'm just so pleased to be moving again, instead of just sitting around whining!

E. and Chris worked three days in the shop this week, but that's not really a good thing, I'm afraid. They are cleaning it out, and trying to sell off what little bit of stuff is left there, as they intend to officially close it around the first of March. E. has a *maybe* job with another computer shop, so please keep that in your prayers, ok? Thank you.

Sharona, good to hear from you again, and hope you can get a routine going so you can post more often...easier said than done, right? Forgive me, but I don't remember what you do for work. Would you be kind enough to refresh my memory, please? What part of Atlanta do you drive into? That's a long commute, bless your heart.

Stacie, Matthew will continue to be in my prayers, and I will celebrate the small advances, as well as the big ones, too. You sound so much happier and more content now than I've ever *heard* you, and I'm so happy for you. Now would be a good time to think about adapting some of the FlyLady routines into your life...baby steps, baby steps. I love her saying, "You can do anything for 15 minutes at a time," and also, "Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family." I've accomplished many things I wouldn't have, with the 15-minute philosophy, and am a firm believer in baby steps, baby steps! That's just super about the gourds, once you get your shop warm and ready, you're going to have a ball, aren't you? Ok, I really need to get my craft area set up, lol...just took the first major step and asked E. if we could do it this afternoon, lol. Thank you for the inspiration, hear?

Martie, thanks for the info on your friends, I appreciate that. I'll leave them on my list a little longer, tho...I don't believe in cutting people off too soon, lol. That's such great news about your loss of inches, I'm really impressed. I've been trying to figure out a way to work Curves into my schedule, but other than leaving the house early before work, don't think I can...and quite frankly, can't afford it right now, either. Have you started buying nice new skinny clothes yet?

Christy! Wow, you sure came back quick this time! That is so great! Enjoy the drugs, and keep resting, tho, don't over-do it right now. Pag sent me a recipe in my email last night, so she's home, too...her surgery was for a deviated septum. So, I think both of you are going to recover and be absolutely fine, quicker than either of you expected, I bet!

Mouse, where are you? I miss you, girlfriend! Hopefully you're just awfully busy, with school and family, and nothing is wrong, right?

Kim, are you enjoying yourself and reading and just relaxing, or have you had to go back to work?

Elizabeth, you're missed! Hope your ISP problems get worked out real soon.

I guess Rose has just plain left us, and I wish she'd come back. I miss her.

Navywife, I hope you're having a good day, and that you'll have a good week-end.

Ok, I think my potatoes are done for my lunch, so I'll leave y'all for now. God bless.

How's everyone doing? Been really busy up this way. Wow it is really great hearing from so many that have been missing for awhile.

Christy I'm glad your surgery is over and you seem to be doing so well. You will love the hot tub, they are so relaxing. I wish Jerry would hurry up and build a little deck area for ours. How are your girls doing? Does your oldest still live down by ya'll? Typing with one hand can't be easy. Any trips planned for when you get well?

Kim how have you been doing? Did everything on your test come out ok? I don't remember ever reading what the final results were if you posted it. Another month or two and it will be camping weather.

Stacey that is great news on your nephew and I'm so glad your getting all moved in. Joyce is right, you sound so happy and content. How are the girls liking their new school?

Hey Sharon great hearing from you. Wow two days a week to Atlanta, what a drive. I go once a week most weeks and it only takes me an hour to get there but I am wore out by the time I get home. And doesn't the traffic just drive you nuts??? After being away from traffic jams for so long it drives me crazy now when I go into Altanta. I am so ready for warmer weather also. Did ya'll ever get a big snow your way this year? Your a little futher over than me, we never did get much of anything this year, just a tiny bit here and there boo hoo. I really wanted a nice BIG snow to cover the ground, at least for a week-end. Didn't know you were doing weight watchers, how's that going? I've been thinking about doing something but can't do the SB or Atkins cause I won't give up my mashed potatoes or rice. Been thinking about weight watchers or Dr. Phil's. Haven't really read up on Dr. Phil's plan yet. Glad your back, we've really missed you.

martie that is great on the inches lost, you are doing such a super job. How does Curves work? Do you join monthly, yearly or just pay when you go? What if you can't do all the exercises the first few times you go? Do you just do what you can until you build up to all the machines? My lungs are terrible, do you think this is a program I could do? There is one right down the road from my school and I've been thinking about checking it out. I am just TIRED of being fat. I want my old body back before all the antidepresents and 3-C-sections. Ok, ok I'll never get that body back but at least one in better shape than this one.

Doris I think I probably live to far out of Atlanta for what your looking for unless your looking for a small town about an hour from Atlanta.

Pag Congrats on the Little Chef Guy and thanks for all the recipes you send. I lost some of them, my computer got sick a week of so ago and I lost everything from the middle of Dec. until last week cause it wasn't backed up. Then heck if I didn't get sick with that dang virus that is going around, and ugh was I miserable for a few days. How did the nose surgery go?

navywife, great hearing from you. Is your family going to see Passion of the Christ? If so are you taking the girls? Jerry and I want to go and take the boys but I can't decide if Lacy is old enough to go. I know it is hard being mom and dad with DH traveling right now, I remember the days AT&T had Jerry traveling a lot. He is suppose to go to Florida for a week or two in the next month or so for training (he is starting a new job with IBM) and I am not looking forward to it but it is the first time IMB has sent him anywhere since he has been with them so I guess I can't complain. If we are real lucky it will be during the kids spring break and I'll just take off my school and we'll all go and make a vacation of it, then Jerry can fly back if he is gone the extra week and the kids and I will drive back after spring break.

linnea you are missed and I know I owe you a letter. I have been really busy with my own school work and I am tutoring 5 girls in data processing. I am ahead in that class and they just really don't know anything about computers so it is real hard for them. Four of them I think will be fine but one of them I'm just not sure she is going to make it. How is work going? How is Ally? How is Steve? Are you losing any weight yet with the workouts?

Joyce, it was SO WONDERFUL to hear that you were able to work 5 hours without a lot of pain. I think maybe the stretches and walk-a-bout's are helping. That and Darling Daniel. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that E. gets the job and of course I'll say a few prayers also. I know that will be such a relief for you. I miss rose also, I sure wish she would drop in and let us know she is ok. And like navy I miss hearing about her meals and her gardening. Sorry can't send you any snow, all we have is cold. The sun has been out the last few days but it is still cold. Some days it feels like I'll never be warm again. And I like you have been suffering the doldrumbs the last week or so from no sun. I really DON'T want to go back on the meds, I've done so well without them but I may have to if my mood doesn't pick up. I don't want this to get to out of control before I do something.

Everyone take care,
mouse

Hey Ladies!

Keith, the girls and I went shopping in Fayetteville yesterday. Wow! What a trip that was! You know I am so used to living inside the city it is taking some getting used to having to drive so far just to shop. Keith drives an hour to and from work everyday, but we love this house here so much and our neighbors and landlords are so wonderful. Anyway, we bought an absolutely beautiful quilt for our bed. I'm in love with it. When I get all my furniture painted, I'll take pictures for ya'll. We also found a couple of cool little discount stores that we'll have to keep checking back in. I got 2 new pairs of shoes (one of them leather) for $4!!! Keith got 2 t-shirts and a pair of jeans for $15. We were thrilled.

Mouse, glad to see you around, girl! You gotta' check in more often! Glad to hear that you're doing well. And, as always, glad to see that you have so much to say! I'll call you soon!!

Joyce, I was so glad to hear that you could work for so long without being in terrible pain. I know that it must be a blessing for you!!

Well, ladies, got to go see what I can unpack to day!

Oh, it's good to feel like we've all been able to spend some time on the porch again. ;-)

Mouse, Curves is really easy to do. If you will stop in one day and tell them you'd just like to talk to them and then try doing a circuit or so they will let you. If you have physical problems, they will work with you to figure out how you need to work certain machines so you won't hurt yourself.

There is a week in March (8-12 if I remember correctly) where you can join for a bag of non-perishable items. Then all you pay is a monthly fee, and that amount depends on how you are willing to pay it. If you want to take them cash or write a check each month it's $39. If you let them take a blank voided check or deposit slip and make their own little check draft from it which they physically take to the bank once a month and you choose the date for that, it's only $29. I found them to be very easy to work with.

They only recommend you go 3x a week. I prefer going every day to keep myself in the habit of - it's 3:30 and time to go workout. So on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I work really hard. On the other days I work more slowly and not as hard just to get the cardio benefit. Most of them are open 9-1 and 3-7. Mine will open around 8:30 on some days and stay open to 7:30 on M&W.

Saturdays a lot of them aren't open at all because they don't get enough business to make it worth opening up. Ours is open right now on Saturday (only since January) and said as long as enough people come, she'll keep it open. It's only 9-11 so the last workout begins at 10:30 on Saturday. We've been averaging 30 during that 2 hours which is VERY worth it to her.

Joyce, I haven't really started buying smaller clothes yet. I have this belly that everyone says will be the last thing I lose. After 2 c-sections it just doesn't want to go down enough for me to get in smaller pants yet. I did have to quit wearing my 26's and stick to just the 24's which are getting really loose in the waist but not across the belly yet.

The other night I asked Terry about ordering something from Melaleuca and he told me he would just keep using the body wash I've been using because it doesn't seem to take as much. When I said I'd noticed the same thing he said "That's because you are getting smaller." WOW! And here I wasn't sure he was really noticing!

Well, I need to get off here and make my grocery list. I think Suzanne and I may try to go to the Dekalb Farmer's Market this afternoon. She may chicken out on me though. Their veggies are just so much fresher and cheaper than the stores around here.

Oh, Stacey, what town are you in again? We have friends that are outside of Fayettville. I can't remember exactly which little town it was right now though. I need to ask Terry if he got his new church going yet. I know he was working on one. They live in the country as well. Their daughter has a horse. And instead of moving back here when they had the chance they wanted to stay up there. Must be really nice up there.

Okay - I'm outta here now. Gotta put on my shades for this sunshine we're having. Have a great afternoon!

Good afternoon. Another beautiful day here...lower 60's and sunny, just plain gorgous. I went in to work, but just couldn't stand the thoughts of being there after the miserable day I had yesterday...my customers were so BAD...so I swapped days with another waitress and came home. Yesterday it just seemed like everybody was super-crabby, nothing suited anybody, and I almost walked out a couple of times. Tomorrow I'll work the non-smoking section, and it won't be as bad, I don't think. Some days those guys that hang out around the smoking section can really get under my skin, lol. Anyway, after I got home, we did our little walk-a-bout, and then E. cleared up some on the carport...it looks neater out there now than it has in months. We also worked a little around the front of the house...ok, ok, so he did most of the work, lol...and we now have a little more *curb appeal.* So all in all, I'm really glad I came home. It's just been a nice afternoon, and now E. is taking his Sunday beauty nap, and I may join him in a little while.

Mouse, I'm glad to hear from you, and I'm sorry your computer got sick and you lost stuff. I hate when that happens. Sounds like you're doing really well in school. Maybe they could hire you now as an assistent for some of the computer courses?? I hope you get to go to Florida with Jerry, it'll do you a world of good to just get away for awhile, might help you with the doldrums. I've still got mine, sigh...they don't seem to be getting too much worse...well, maybe they are, because if I were in a better frame of mind the customers wouldn't be under my skin like they are, lol.

Martie, I understand about the C-section belly, lol. I have the same problem. It makes it awfully difficult to buy pants, too. If I can get the waist over my belly and butt, then the legs are wayyyyy to baggy, and I look even fatter than I am. Yuck.

Stacie, good deal on the new shopping places. I need to find something like that around here. Clothes are sooooo expensive, and I have to buy the *big woman* sizes, which are always higher anyway.

Guess it's time to take my own beauty nap, lol...never does any good, tho! Dinner is going to be leftover spaghetti and meat sauce, and cold mackeral patties...weird combination, huh?

Congrats on the good work Martie! I wish there was a Curves near here. I'd be there in a heart beat! In the meantime, I go to physical therapy 3x a week to be tortured LOL I guess it's better for me since they know my limitations.

Mouse, We're still figuring out what kind to get. I really really wanted one for 4-5 people but sine it's for my "therapy" Ronnie has found a Solana that seats 2 but it has room for my exercises too. We're also looking at those "Spa in a Box" things... much cheaper and bigger but of course someone who sells the other stuff will tell you how awful those are. Y'all tell me everything you know about hot tubs. Who has one, what kind and do you like it or not? I'm so lost! When you look at spending $4000 on something, it had better be just right! I can't ride in it or pee in it so it better do SOMETHING for me!!

Tina and Amanda are both still around LOL Tina lives nearby but since I asked her to start paying me (she even signed a contract hehehe) I haven't heard much from her. Amanda's "man" is in Iraq now so that's a mess.

Everything else is plodding along! I'm still sleeping a lot since surgery but my arm is feeling good.

Hugs!
