First things first: I got an email from Elizabeth this afternoon, and she has asked me to post here and on the What's for Dinner threads for her. She is having major trouble with her ISP, and can't stay on-line for long...whenever it rains, she loses the connections completely...so when she's on-line now, it's mostly for her business work. She says hello, and that altho she's frustrated with the ISP, she's doing ok.
Ok, so, having said that, hello. I've been distracted again...work, reading, reading a little more, and just plain tired. And am now working on the *World's Second-Ugliest Painting,* lol. This one is much smaller, and will just be glued into my private notebook. Basically I'm just having fun playing with the colors!
Mouse, send me some snow! NOW! We have had rain, rain, and then, more rain. My yard in back of the house is just like a swamp...yuck. I walk around the edges in the front and part of the side, but that's it. I didn't work another five-day week...my gumption gave out, lol. Too bad, tho, because it boosted my paycheck quite a bit, sigh. So I'm back on four days, Cheryl is bouncing me around again...no set days, and back on the week-ends...waaaaaa! Oh, well, life goes on, doesn't it? So in protest, I called in sick today...and I really did feel crappy when I woke up, but, I always wake up feeling crappy, always! So at least I didn't lie to her, lol. Tomorro I'm going to go see my Darlin' Daniel and Dr. That's always a treat.
Martie, still working out at Curves? What's the latest loss? I agree with you, it would be wonderful to be able to build your own home on your own property...start from the ground up, and built to YOUR own specs. Work on it, girlfriend...I'm with you all the way!
Pag, how are you feeling now? You've been in my prayers.
Stacie, Matthew continues to be in my prayers. I hope the family can manage having him home...not sure I could deal with that, but, yes, they can go on with their lives, and it's got to cost less then fulltime hospital. I am SO glad you're moved in and liking your new home. When will you start to work in your shop, or have you already and I didn't catch that?
Linnea, hello. What's up, anything new? I'd be really good at a slumber party...I can stay up until about 3AM! Snacks and movies galore, lol.
Ameyzing, I'm on the west side of Atlanta, in Cobb County, in Mableton, right next-door to Austell. It's a nice little town, and everything you need is close by. We also have an Aldi's, a Fred's, a brand-new Dollar Tree, Kroger, K-Mart, and of course, most importantly, we have a WAFFLE HOUSE! LOL!
Ahhhh, my MSN Messenger just popped up...I see that Christy has been posting at the same time I have...thought you'd sneak in on me, huh? HI, CHRISTY!
Have I forgotten anybody? It's not my intent to ignore anyone...Rose? Where are you? Navywife, are you packing yet? Kim, how are you feeling? Anyone heard from Sharona? Hooya?
Talk to y'all later...gonna go see what Christy has to say. God bless.

Hello all! Sorry that it has been so long since I have posted.
My family has been very busy lately. DH is travelling alot lately. We have not started packing yet, but I have been doing a Super fling. Speaking of which, I have a queen size waterbed that I would like to sell. The mattress is great.
Stacey, congratulations on the move. Don't try to unpack everything all at once.
Pag, (((HUGS)))! Congrats on the chef.
Christy, (((HUGS)))!
Amayesing, I live North East of Atlanta. If you need any info about this area, let me know.
Martie, how has the weight loss been going? Are you still working out regularly?
Mouse you can keep my portion of the snow. I can do without!
Joyce, Kim, and Linnea hello. Stop in and let us know what is going on with you. Has anyone heard from Rose lately? I miss reading about her dinners.
I have news on my nephew! They have been doing aggressive physical therapy with him in hopes that it will help him to wake up. Yesterday they had him on the floor bunched into an uncomfortable position trying to get him to move on his own. My SIL was sitting there, eating a bowl of soup and watching, when Matthew suddenly said, "Help me, Mama." Vicki dropped the soup and rushed to him. I can only imagine her joy! He is still in a coma state, but now that they know that he is there and able to talk they have high hopes that he will, in fact, wake up. Plans to discarge him have been cancelled. He will remain in the hospital where they can continue the therapy and see where it takes him. I think this is definately an answer to so many prayers that have been said for him. Thank you all so much!!

OMG, Stacie! That is such fantastic news, thank you for sharing it! I am in tears now, but that's ok, they are tears of praise and joy! If this helps any, years ago I knew a young man who was in a coma for 13 weeks...he came out of it, tho, and is healthy, got married, and has two children. My prayers for Matthew will continue, believe me.
Martie, you also asked for prayer a while back. A friend whose husband had shot her, and then shot himself, and the brother of your hairdresser. How are these folks doing, do you know?
Candy, I just wish I had room in my house for a water bed, I would love to buy it from you. We are even on a concrete slab foundation, so the floor would support the weight....waaaaaaa! Oh, well, I hope you manage to sell it. I envy you doing a Super Fling, sigh...wish I thought I could get away with it, lol.
More prayers and hugs for Christy and Pag.
Too bad Pag probably won't be here for a couple days, because I found out why she got the chef avatar...one of the recipes she submitted to the What'sCooking e-zine(I think that's what it's called)was published. It's for Crock-Pot Teriyaki Beef, sounds wonderful, and I'm going to use it tonight with two slight changes. I'm going to do it in the oven, and instead of beef, I'm going to use pork chops. I'll let y'all know how it turned out. The link for the ezine is on the February What's for Dinner thread, on about the 28-29-30 page...sorry I can't be more specific, but, if you go over there, you can't miss it. The post to congratulate her is HUGE, and so is the link. Well done, Pag!
I've certainly enjoyed yesterday and today, am NOT looking forward to work tomorrow, but, the rent, etc., must be paid...and of course the internet and the cable, lol. Can't imagine living without them any more, and did so well for over 50 years!
We went to Aldi's today, walked around in there for about 20 minutes, and then came home and did our walk-a-bout in the yard for another full 20 minutes, which means I did twice as much in the yard as I did yesterday! Ta-da! I didn't go see Dr. and Daniel, but plan on doing that Friday, instead. I've done some odds and ends around the house, doing a little Flying for a change...must be the sunshine, lol, I seem to have a little more gumption and energy than usual. Ok, I admit it, I've been praying for energy and willingness, and it seems that my prayers are being answered. I'm pleased.
Hope every one is having a good day. God bless.

The lady was able to go home to her sisters. That's all I know about that one.
My hairdresser's brother got to go home last week as well. I also found out that I know the lady who hit him. She's doing fine as well. It did total her Suburban though. He was the only one not wearing a seatbelt and Lisa (my hairdresser) told him that God is the reason that he is still alive and God has a plan for him so he better get ready.
Thanks everyone for the prayers for these people.
Stacey, our youth pastor has been teaching the kids about prayer and using Matthew and another guy that was in a similar situation only older, to show them how prayer works. He was so excited tonight to be able to tell them that, look, your praying for Matthew and now there has been some progress. Archie has encouraged the kids to develop a prayer journal. It's fun to watch the kids have a look of wonder on their faces.
Well, today I didn't make it to Curves. I think it's only the 3rd time I've missed except for when I was out of town at Thanksgiving. I was ready to leave and Terry called and needed me to type a letter for his boss and I had forgotten that my sil's dog needed to be let out while her parents were out of town today. OOPS! So I typed and we went to let the dog out for a while. I did get in my walking this morning though. For my 4th month measurements, I have lost a total of 23.25 inches!! I was down 8 lbs. from the beginning weight 4 months ago but I blew part of that in the last 12 days celebrating Skylar's birthday too much. UGH! I started back on Dr. Phil's Rapid Start Plan yesterday so I'm hoping to be back down and even less in the next few days.
Well, I need to run. Chat with you soon!

Hi all!
Is it spring yet? This first winter back in the cold is killing me! I hope we make it to the 60's today like the weather lady said. My feet would love to be out of socks and shoes! This Florida gal is ready to make a break for the border!
Been busy working, I'm now commuting 2 days a week into Atlanta - it's a 2 hour ride one way - and still working from home. Trying to get back into the routine of Family Corner, Weight Watchers and life in general.
I'm trying to catch up on all of your posts. It seems like you've all been busy with life changing events. Prayers going up for all of you. I've really missed the front porch gang! It's almost time for iced tea on the porch swing!!
Be good!

Joyce, thank you for your prayers and your kind words. I cried too when my MIL told me about it on the phone. I think a lot of people have. I'm glad to hear that you are getting around better and your prayers are being answered. I know that you are too!
Martie, that is wonderful about the youth pastor and the children. I have read quite a few posts to the support board on Matthew's site where many people have said that through praying for Matthew they are also changing their own lives. It really is incredible to watch the miracles taking place right before our eyes.
Things are settling here. I still have tons of unpacking to do, but I am taking it slow. Mostly because I have to get up so dang early to get the kids off to school. No more sending them to school for breakfast (yes, I was that LAZY). This school does not serve it. So, I get up between 4:30 & 5:00 am before Keith leaves for work and then I begin fixing breakfast at 6:15 so that they can eat and get dressed before 7:20 when the bus gets here. by the time lunch rolls around I am EXHAUSTED. No more late nights for me, which is tough because I am such a night person. I was even too tired last night to fix their lunch after we ate dinner & cleaned up. All I did was throw money into 2 envelopes and shove them in the backpacks! Thank goodness they serve lunch there!! I have to say that I am really proud of myself in spite of not getting everything unpacked yet. I have been cooking dinner every night since we moved in. I had gotten into a bad habit of grabbing food on the way home when I was working because I was so tired and it was so late by the time we walked through the door, then at my parents' house either Mom was cooking or Dad brought something home(mostly the latter). Anyway, we're all eating better & healthier now and it's beginning to show (although my waistline is still showing how much I love my own cooking -- heehee).
Oh, and Sharon, I'm with you on spring. I went from shorts weather to COLD in 2 days and I am unable to work in my shop right now because I have no heat out there yet. WAAAAAA .. I really want to paint so badly, too!
WOW! One more thing before I go. One of the people who dropped by to invite us to their church mentioned that he had soeme gourds he wanted to get rid of and he just stopped by and dropped them off. WOOOHOOO! I really do love living in a small community.
Well, that's the update from here!
